If you mean the counterblast thing, then they do that all the time. That's not that big of a deal at all, honestly. If not, then I have no clue what you're talking about.
Season 2 was better than season 3 and 4 development wise. Aichi was forced to redevelop both his skill and confidence, Kamui and Misaki both had to grow up in their own ways as well, Leon was a great villain, etc. etc.
The only real bad part of Season 2 was the handling of Chris from Team S.I.T, he seemed more like useless filler than a real mid boss.

Season 2 was honestly every definition of the word "okay".

It was showing how monotonous and boring Bushi's advertisement would be. The only real problem was that literally all of it save the first episode and then the final Psyqualia showdowns was basically filler galore.

This may be an unpopular opnion but this is my season ranking:

Season 1>Season2 and 3 tied>Season 4>Season 5(Too early to really tell but so far it seems that way)

Anyway for me the show is going downhill.Not that i thought that it's bad, but not as good as it was before.

Curious What exactly made season 2 and 3 = to you? I really enjoyed season 3 a ton more because of the fact they went to school to the first half then Link Joker invaded which made me sad But it still gave us a season 1 feel the entire way but without going to tournaments to resolve things. What kept it going strong a lot of the way for me was the music brought in for season 3 was amazing. Some of it was brought back for 4 as well Maxing the effectiveness as well. Still wonder what music they will also bring back for season g to if any.

In my opinion, Season 3 is just a glorified Season 2.

The advertisement methods are all the same they're just not playing in tournaments. Instead, they create stupid and meaningless character arcs that those reversed don't remember except sometimes????? Kai himself was the most boring villain of the entire series and Voidkuto wasn't anymore entertaining. The invasion was watered down to not even feel all that "threatening" because instead of legitimate damage they drain life force. On paper, that sounds deadly, but when you're looking at it you just think it's really stupid. You sapped some years off of them... okay? There's also more than a few half baked wins and it was the start of the "skip fight to 4 damage" escapade.

R!Kai vs Ren was the only thing that felt season defining in terms of ranking each season. Link Joker itself was an amazing concept then it was just wasted in random character arcs that just show off Break Ride combos and new bosses.

Basically the same thing as me, although season 2 and 3 tie to me, if i had to choose it would go like that. Literally downhill.

And TSS, Season 2 was great, i like tournaments after all.

Reverse Koutei was the salvation of Season 3 honestly. Aside from how well done the final fight was, music and animation wise, R!Koutei was really fleshed out, and all two out of three fights actually had every turn played out, which was awesome.

The Leon vs Future reversed Leon fight was also cool. Tho i don't know how does that make sense.

Personally, I feel like that fight was the dumbest and most potential failing fight of the season. Everything about it angered me to no end and I refuse to accept it as anything but trash.
That's just like, my opinion though.

It's just hard to really care with the silliness of stupid DBZ beams Chrono keeps sacking. The Battle Sister girl was cute but I still couldn't get into it overall. The cavity part was hilarious but it felt like an embarrassing excuse at comedy after awhile. The ending got back at it being funny though.

I'm gradually getting used to Trinity Dragon (still waiting for them to use an actual dragon). Shion and Tokoha are nothing I'd write home about yet. A real star - Mamoru is the highlight of next week's episode. ... Though, with how Kamui's and Ibuki's episodes were handled, something tells me I'm not missing anything if I don't bother watching it. It might grab my attention since it's finally another person who can use Strides outright and tell Chrono he's playing them wrong.

I'd like to think of Ibuki and Mamoru as the two mountains Chrono has to individually climb. Both telling him off and how to improve in a very arrogant, violent manner. Both his nice Kai Toshikis that will turn into blatant assholes when they're tired of him screaming2win; thinking it'll always work. Ibuki needs some more depth in his reformed self, but Mamoru is likeable so far, which is great.

Also remember when I said the Stride animation was nice? Well I don't, but if I did, I'm taking it back. It's starting to seem more and more like filling in left over airtime.

It's really hard to not get exhausted with how aggravating G is to me so far. So I can't really talk about it without ranting over the same things that'll likely be improved 20 episodes from now.

Good thing about this whole episode? Kumi. I do find it funny, how an episode named after Tokoha, doesn't even have her fighting, but then again, since her stuff doesn't come out till late this year/early next year it sorta makes sense...sorta. I mean Chrono is still beating left and right and then tries to come off like he's some veteran at the game already, god I hate characters like him. Aichi was annoying, yes, so true, but at least he was semi-realistic with his win/lose ratios. It takes someone like Ibuki...who is I'm guessing Kai level if not stronger, to actually beat him and everyone else gets dusted? Just... go away with that stupid swirl please.

BUT enough about my rant about that, this episode was sort of good, I mean was FINALLY get to see some tactics here, some checking and some actual guarding and the like, it was great, about damn time if you ask me.

Pros: Kumi and them actually showing off the mechanics of the friggan game.
Cons: Chrono wins, yet again and on top of it acts like he's a pro at the game already. So how long until he switches souls with an ancient 'spirit' to duel..err.. fight for him?
