Don't attack when I'm at 5 and ready to World End, terrible if I trigger a Heal and the LB5 fizzles.
WaiterFang:
My own tips for beginners and some "not noob" people of the game-
1. Use your common sense in deck making. Ex: Don't use cards that can soulcharge often in a deck that barely uses the soul.
2. If you are just beginning the game, here is the official demo on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/CardfightVanguard/app_300436226634159
3. Don't ragequit. It's rude.
4. If a person is being called a "noob" online, don't join in and be a jerk to them. You were a "noob" once too. Try to help the "noob" learn if they are willing to receive your help.
5. At least 75% of people will feel annoyed at you if you complain that "you can never win" or "I lost cause my rides sucked. I rode a sentinel and my especial intercept" and etc.
6. Don't be an [this word has been censored for reasons of censormanship, specifically it references the area of flatulation among mammals or can be used to reference the Equus africanus asinus] hole.

Tips?
1. There is a difference between being unorthodox and being dumb. Having a unique lineup which works differs from a lineup that is out-of-this-world.
2. When building a deck, see the image of your deck performing in various scenarios. There should be a few ways of you using the deck to win, and restricting yourself to 1 way will kill yourself when the opponent just shuts that strategy down.
3. Even on losing games (misride etc.), make full advantage of your current line up. For example you are missing a grade 3, but have plenty of grade 1s and 2s, it might be better to risk a full rush than playing safe, for every turn in the first 3 turns matters much more than the last 2-3 turns.
4. Riding Sentinels even when you have other units to ride may benefit early game if you want boosters, it is all on scenario but I am not gonna divulge further because it will only confuse you.
5. Be harsh to yourself. save replays and analyse. Critic yourself on every move. If you are not that good yet, get a few people's opinion.

To add on to that, it could be a good idea to find a group of people to play the game with - it'll help you find people to practice again and overall it's usually much more fun.

I would expand on that and say try using the most recent cards/mechanics, they're guaranteed to be pretty good most of the time since Bushiroad needs to sell packs.

That's not a trick.
