Coming Soon: Cardfight Vanguard G, Grades System
Hope:
First of all, credits to this request post by Pishmans:
http://cardfight-wiki.ru/areafor/index.php/topic,1717.0.html
I will be trying to implement this through a little mini-game which we could all play here in the forums!
What will happen is that there will be grades and experience points required to reach a given amount of grade.
-Experience points will be gained through doing daily quests which will be posted on the thread and changed frequently.
-Earning experience points will eventually lead to an increase in grade, eventually maxing out at the platinum level.
- New daily quests will be provided everyday, these quests can include games where the 6th damage is done with a certain card,
making certain decks, or defeating a certain Cardfighter.
Example: "Ren [R] is being too much of a scrub!! Defeat him using Glendios' Ultimate Break!!" (200 points)
Example: "Wow, I sure do love them dinodragons! Win a game with Tachikaze and show me their power!" (150 points)
Example: "The new CFA update brought in the new Shadow Paladin units! Implement them into your deck and put them to work." (125
points)
Since keeping track of every player will be difficult should many people, I'll be needing volunteers to help.
My Ideas thus far:
- Unlocking decks and sets as grades increase? Quests would have to accommodate for this as well.
Example: Grade 0: Set 1-3 releases only.
Grade 1: Set 1-5 become available.
- Rewards for going up in Grade!
The above serves as sort of an incentive for increasing grade, I feel that it is necessary to give awards overall for
increasing grade other than bragging rights.
- Qualification for Tournaments:
Like in the anime, you have to be Grade 3 or so to enter in a tournament, it'll be the same idea here.
Grade 1 and up tournament, Grade 2 and up tournament etc.... or just limited to a specific Grade.
- The Struggle to become Clan Leaders!:
Every participant gets a main clan and once they reach a certain grade will be able to join in the battle to
become the leader for their respective clan.
- Player-submitted quests:
I'll probably have to go through these before posting these and making a few changes, but pretty much
you guys may PM me quest requests such as:
"Need help making a deck for the Aqua Force clan! Show me the clan in action!"
"Ren [R] needs to get rekt!! He hates Alfred and Blaster Blade, use Alfred and Blaster Blade and defeat him!"
- Proofs.
Screenshots and Replays. This will probably the part with the most work. This is more of a necessity than an idea.
This'll be how I'm going to keep track of things and also what I'll need help with. Whether the proof will need to be a simple screenshot.
a replay, or maybe even just another player posting will depend on the quest given.
- Festival Days!:
Days such as weekends and such were many people are online will have an extended quest limit as well as tournaments!
On these days, players will also be able to take turns fighting clan leaders or specific fighters. If they win, they get a good amount of
experience points!
Elitism is inevitable, especially with a system such as this, but I am hoping to find ways so that everyone can have fun,
especially for late joiners or those whom are just starting out, so please pitch in ideas and give this a chance. There is nothing bad with an elite status, the negative attitude that comes with it is the real problem. Giving fightrs high ranks and goals that they may aim to achieve poses no problem, the problem lies with how they treat others once they achieve it. I ask that before you all dismiss this idea under the notion that this promotes superiority or this elitism, please consider that the point Vanguard itself is to win and become the strongest fighter. If you believe that little mini-game being tacked on it will promote elitism then you, yourself, lack something.
Hope in our community, hope in yourself, and hope in Vanguard.
I know a lot of stuff has happened, by we're still here so let's make the best of it!!!
---Me trying to be fancy with repetition and other literary devices. Lol.
The purpose is to have fun and add a bit more spice to the game we have and love to play so please pitch in ideas of your own and give it a chance!
Thank you for reading!!!
Hope.
Lucius:
seems like a fun idea as Event but don't Forget to add Extra-Booster and Promo Cards when you decide what to use when Grade up.
[ER] Patrickzzz:
Hmm this is looking pretty fun :D
I can help keeping track of things if you need, i also have a few suggestions:
- I don't really like the set restriction idea, let's take for instance the "Scrub Ren[R]" quest xD
it would be impossible to new players to use glendios and complete these kind of quests since they can only use Set 1-3, also it would be extremely hard for new players to gain grade since for most of the quests they would have to fight more experienced users with better decks.
-As for a way to reward players for getting higher grades and also increasing event activity, i think higher grade players should have more points to give on user submitted quests. For instance, A grade 2 player can have 100 points to make his quests for week, so he can create a 100 points worthy quest or 2 50 point ones, Meanwhile a G3 would be able to have 200 and so on. And maybe getting some points for submitting quests and people completing them (Like 1/10 of the points?)
-Also i don't know how this would work, but i think it would be a good idea to make the anime Nation association thingy, i don't know how it would work, but i'm think some kind of guild that has special quests and such.
Hope:
Thank you for the reply Patrickzzz and Lucius!
For the "Ren [R] is scrub" quest which includes the use of Glendios, my idea is that with set restrictions, the card that needs to be used will be different for each grade.
Ex: Grade 1: Win with Amber Dragon Eclipse.
Ex: Grade 2: Win with Dragonic Kaiser, Vermillion.
Also..
Promo cards and such being restricted to grade increase and certain tournament/festival events??
Interesting!
[ER] Patrickzzz:
Hmm Hope, modifying a quest for each specific grade would be so much work, even if you have a small number of daily quests like 3, if you have 7 grades that would be 21 x.x And also it would be really hard for new players, since let's say Ren is a Platinum, they would have to defeat an experienced player with an OP Abyss deck using Eclipse.
