Because instead of Buddyfight where you have to choose 1 Monster before the game to be the Buddy, Vanguard allows you to put more than 16 Grade 0 in the deck and since each Grade 0 can be a potential starter they can't just make you choose a Vanguard starter before the game, after all there are many People that use Decks that have more than 1 unit with the ability <Forerunner> or <Pioneer>. For Example you will rarely find an OTT deck that doesn't use a heal with Forerunner ability.

still most people go with the idea of using the one grade 0 they always use. i support the idea of an auto first vg because almost no one changes there mind about what vg they will use as a starter.

Nyash said that it need too many efforts to implement - he dont want to waste time on this, as we all can play fine without it.
