i keep feeling like altmile isn't nearly as good every time i read it, but the thing is that its support, similar to ayesha's support, really sticks out and makes the stride significantly better. one actually might argue that similar to how this might be a 4-of, ayesha might be considered a 4-of based off of support alone.

i really like saint blow, and i do think that i'd rather play it as a 4-of for metagaming purposes, but altmile synergizes with most if not all of g-royals, since it only takes a few cards to trigger pier, and on top of that, most of your call targets at g1 or g2 are fantastic to stack on top of this effect. mixing this with jewels still looks like the way to go, but for the first time it feels like it would be wiser to use straight up g-royals with sanctuary guard rather than bothering to go into seekers or jewel knights. same consistency with potentially more explosive results.

it's not always amazing because it does require you to invest more time into setting up an optimal board state off of altmile's heartbeat to really make this stride shine, but it's certainly just about as good as ayesha's stride counterpart is. would play it at least as a 2-of if i really felt like saint blow was better. still a very strong card.

Anyone else kinda sad that after this, it'll be just two months of nothing but RP, LJ and a HUGE wave of AQ? Two months of basically nothing for me, I just hope the stuff from this set can tide me over.
