In terms of voting I will be voting via Mats that I would actually print and would use irl since thats the point of a mat design. It has to be something that I would want to have or it isnt going to be good right
Mat #5
Truly an interesting mat since its very similar to ones that would be made by bushiroad. I would say that it is plain as compared to the rest in terms that it isnt unique and special. I would say that the mat overall is pretty much good overall so i would give it a
8/10
.
Mat #10
Quite an outstanding mat which is one of the 1st mats that caught my attention. I would say the RG circle designs are great and the 3D effect for each of the symbols are cool. The only problem is that the although I understand that the artist was going for all Clans in the Star Gates but I would sure liked it even more if it was all just Link Joker which i just dun really like the combination which is a bit off to me.
6/10
.
Mat #11
Very well done mat. Really nice colour contrast and each image seems sharp and is all in proper place. However, I think the only point which kinda made it not perfect is that Xerneas could have been on top of the RC instead of it being behind just like what was done for Yveltal.
9/10
.
Mat #16
Awesome Design and I like the mat a lot I dun watch Fate but i just liked the design of the mat its clean, not crowded and its perfect. I would say that unfortunately I wished if the Damaged Zone, Deck and drop could have been done better. Which harshly caused points for this mat design
5/10
.
Mat #21
By far one of the cooler Circles and zone designs. Really fits the theme of the mat and it works great overall. The Flower effects at the side really got to me. I dun have anything that I really dislike about the mat however it sort of lacks visual impact it seems like its missing something but its fine to me
8/10
.
Mat #26
Aqua force playmat. I must say I like the contrast with Reverse and Tetra looks great. Probably use the Tetra one thou even thou I like Maelstrom it looks better. The zones and circles colour although simple fits well with the colour scheme.
6/10
.
Mat #29
Pretty cool mat having all the season 1 characters. Bright and the colours for the background is really nice with a sort of radiant effect behind the mat. by far my favourite mat as the picture of each character fit very well together. Unfortunately some of the characters are a bit blur so yea.
9/10

And now I'll try to estimate all those playmats, without being biased. I hope my english is good enough for you to understand, what I'm writing C:
My judgement will have 4 criteria: accordance to the task, visual appearance, originality, and my personal opinion.
Accordance to the task (up to 2 points)
- this one is self-explanatory.
If playmat got less then 1.5 point for this criterion, it can win in this contest only in user's voting.
Visual appearence (up to 3 points)
- colours, chosen arts and combination of all elements of the mat.
Creativity (up to 3 points)
- if playmat has elements that are different from standart, it will get points for this criterion. Even I can change background and RG-Circle's colours - doing more than that is much harder.
Personal opinion (up to 2 points)
- even without this criterion, playmat can get 8 points, and that is many. For last 2 points I will explain, how much I liked/disliked playmat and will share my other thoughts about it.
Okay, lets go.
#1 - 6.5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright, except bind zone. You see, CFA adds this button separate from playmat, so it will still appear over your bind zone. I wont take away points for it though.
Visual appearence (1.5 points):
While the style of the playmat is fine, I find it very sad, that damage zone background is so stretched. And that thing that crosses playmat in the center is looking very bad.
Creativity (2 points):
This playmat is very unusual - thats for sure. Author likes ponies so he replaced all he could with them. More ponies pls! Well, I guess at certain moment Author ran out of ideas. I took away 1 point because he replaced all elements with ponies instead of replacing some of them (damage zone for example) with other things. The idea of replacing guardian circle with the text was cool, but author ruined it by multiple low-sized crowded ponies which cannot even be seen without amplification.
Personal opinion (1 point):
I cant call myself a fan of ponies, but this idea is interesting. If only authors took more efforts into making some elements look better... Also, it's obvious, that he didnt tested playmat in CFA - in that case he would not make bind zone.
#2 - 3 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (0.5 points):
It looks scary. If you look closely, you'll see that arts was roughly cut out of bushi's art and had been made transparent (look at the leg of tamer with blue stockings) so author could place other elements under them and the backgrounds of those arts were used as playmat's background. This playmat is like sandwich. I like the idea of two different parts of playmat, as people cant rotate it and play on the side, they like the most, but when backgrounds just changes in the middle of the mat it looks very ugly. Also the arts are too sticked out, so I cant see other elements of the field behind them.
Creativity (0.5 points):
I gave 0.5 points for sandwich. I didnt even expected someone to try making such playmat.
Personal opinion (0 points):
This playmat is bad. Not only it looks bad, but it's disgusting, that authors tries to win the contest using more with help of bushi's arts, than with his own hands. And grade 1 and 2 versus stride is not fair >_<.
#3 - 3 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright, but this blue bar is not supposed to be there. But I havent mentioned it in the task, so I wont take away points for it.
Visual appearence (1 points):
I like it how good arts, background and RC's colours blends in, even if usualy VC and RCs have different colours. But it all is ruined by that blue bar is ruining everything. And drop-zone, deck and damage zone is not fitting the rest elements at all - author at least should've tried to change their colours.
Creativity (0 points):
I dont see anything unique in the elements of this playmat. Author only removed some standart elements that were crossing the mat and changed VC's color.
Personal opinion (0 points):
I like the art, but not playmat. If author had removed those blue bars, replacing them with something, or did something with damage zone, drop-zone, or deck, the playmat would've gotten more points.
#4 - 6 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points):
This playmat is too bright, but all elements blends in with each other so you cant say, that one of them is excessive. What's bad about this mat is Zoro will be covered with Vanguard from the beggining of every game.
Creativity (1 points):
I liked damage zone, deck and graveyard. It's sad, author havent do anything with VC and RCs.
Personal opinion (1 points):
The thing I liked the most in this mat is how GC are placed within the lake - it looks very nice. But I think you should've chosen another Zoro's art, because his face is covered with VG and his katanas almost invisible.
#5 - 6 points. Author: T-SP Access.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points):
VC is too large, so we are vene able to see it. I haven't wrote anything about VC's size, but it should not be that big.
Visual appearence (3 points):
Author tried to do playmat that is similar to official ones. And he succed. I would've hired him C:
Creativity (0 points):
Even if this playmat looks cool, there is nothing original in it.
Personal opinion (1.5 points):
Even if this playmat is not very original, I deserves those points. But it would be better if he used less inscriptions, as I looks like author just wanted to fill space with them (there is two similar inscription, and one of them will be covered by bind zone).
#6 - 4 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points):
Background, RCs and VC blends in nicely, but damage zone, drop-zone and deck looks like authors just forgot about them, which ruins this playmat horribly.
Creativity (0 points):
All elements are standart.
Personal opinion (1 points):
Making GC from character's heads... ha-ha-ha. This is cool. I also like that some chracter's faces wont be covered by cards, but their facial expression is creepy. And despite what all elements being standart I still like this mat.
#7 - ~_~. Author: Exper.
i dont think I should judge my own playmat =P
#8 - 0.1 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0 points):
Excessive zones, "guardian rectangular box", "vanguard and rearguard square". And where am I supposed to place my Vanguard? In the back row?
Visual appearence (0 points):
Erm, well, if using Yu-gi-oh's sleeve as background and draw some squares in paint is what's needed to make the playmat - I'm washing my hands of. It looks terrible.
Creativity (0.1 points):
It's the exceptional mat, so it cannot have 0 for this criterion, can it? Also, what is "Bild"?
Personal opinion (0 points):
I think author just laughed. Well, keep doing it >_<.
#9 - 4 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0.5 points):
There is all zones that are needed, but there is two more then there should be. Deck with drop-zone is lower then they should be.
Visual appearence (1.5 points):
But this mat looks better then previous. The only thing I dont understand is why all circles are yellow - there is more fitting colours after all. And I'm worried about "Bild".
Creativity (1.5 points):
Cicles are looking good, and a letter in them is cool too. But Author's imagination is too weak to do more.
Personal opinion (0.5 points):
This mat would be much greater if it had been made according to the task.
#10 - 8 points. Author: RosaliaIzanami.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2.5 points):
Thi mat is looking good. Background fits it very well. Damage zone is beautiful too, but I dont get, why deck and drop-zone are locked - it does not fits in this playmat.
Creativity (2 points):
It would be even better if you've also changed VC and GC. Other than that mat looks very creative.
Personal opinion (1.5 points):
This mat is nice, author took his efforts, but overdid it and locked the deck. This mat would've gotten more points if author would've changed VC and GC too.
#11 - 8 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (3 points):
I have not anything bad to say about this mat. It looks awesome - not too bright and somehow blends in two opposite colours.
Creativity (1 points):
Deck is similar to drop-zone and damage zone only has different background and letter there. Why is reminds me about chromosomes?
Personal opinion (2 points):
i like this playmat, it's very harmonious.
#12 - 5 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1.5 points):
This mat is too bright, but colours are nice. Kirito was placed a bit strange - maybe author tried to not let me be covered by Vanguard.
Creativity (1 points):
I like the style of damage zone, drop-zone and deck. It's sad, that author havent do anything with VC and RCs.
Personal opinion (0.5 points):
Looks cool, but I dont think author spent many time on this playmat.
#13 - 7 points. Author: Elsie.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points):
This background ate 1 point of this playmat. It ends off suddenly in the middle of things and it ruins mat's appearence. But if you look only at half of the mat it look wonderful. All living creatures must die!
Creativity (2 points):
Circles are very creative and cool, though I'd wanted author to do something with other zones, as he just changed their colour and transparency.
Personal opinion (1 points):
Decent playmat - almost noone even thought about making Gran Blue mat, so I'm glad someone do remember them. Author could get more points if he changed damage and drop-zones though.
#14 - 2 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points):
All is alright... I guess... I wonder, where should I place my deck and where is drop-zone? C:
Visual appearence (0.5 points):
Same as playmat #2. Well it has the same author.
Creativity (0 points):
I got tired of sandwiches already.
Personal opinion (0 points):
Same as playmat #2, without last sentence.
#15 - 2 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0.5 points):
There is all zones that are needed, but there is two more then there should be. Deck with drop-zone is lower then they should be.
Visual appearence (0.5 points):
The idea with space is not bad, but realisation is. All elements are pale, font is hard to read, and there is some strange square, where light seems to be notched out.
Creativity (1 points):
Well, at least idea is fine. If only all the elements would be brighter. Also I dont get the fact, that deck, drop-zone and damage zone looks exactly the same. Rounded damage zone...
Personal opinion (0 points):
No, this mat is not finished at all. If author will try to work on it, it would be much greater.
#16 - 5 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points):
This playmat looks good... until you start playing on it. Try to make legion - Saber will lose half of her face :C But seriously, the colours of circles and background is not the best here.
Creativity (0 points):
Nothing creative in this mat.
Personal opinion (1 points):
10 points for blushing Saber +_+ It's all I wanted to say! Oh w8, I'm a judge!
I like the mat is general, it's also good, that player can choose the side on which he will play. But I wish there were more creativity.
#17 - 5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points):
Resolution of background and stretched arts ruins this playmat. GC is looking nice though, but it's too pale.
Creativity (2 points):
This mat has the same problems as mat #1 with ponies, but GC he is better and here is no ugly bar in the middle.
Personal opinion (0 points):
I dont like this mat at all. I have a feeling that author collecter random images and placed them on 1 mat - they totally do not blend with each other.
#18 - 5 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points):
Like in always author found nice background and colours are also good. But that background is too pale, compared to other elements of the mat. Maybe it's because there is so many sources of light.
Creativity (1 points):
Damage zone, drop-zone and deck is creative. but other elements are not.
Personal opinion (0 points):
I dont like this mat. When I look at it for some time, my eyes starts to hurt - maybe something is wrong with colours here?
#19 - 3 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points):
You wont hide Unlimited Blade Works from me by one little Sasuke. In general this mat is too dark - you could just do black background and mat would be the same. Both Sasuke and Blaster Dark is almost invisible here, and RCs and VC should be brighter.
Creativity (0 points):
Nothing creative here, just different colours.
Personal opinion (0 points):
I dont like this field, because *read other criteria*.
#20 - 4 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points):
Background end off suddenly. One of the pokemons, if I'm not mistaken, has bad quality and because of it he does not fit into playmat.
Creativity (1 points):
Cute damage zone, but other then that there is nothing interesting.
Personal opinion (0 points):
I dont like this mat as there is many fails. You could add another Pokemon with better quality.
#21 - 7 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points):
Background ends off suddenly and it's quality is far from perfect. Other then that playmat look nice and have good colours.
Creativity (1 points):
VC and RCs is looking interesting and fits into playmat. Other zones are standart.
Personal opinion (2 points):
It's not very creative, but is looking very good. If author tried a bit more, he would've got more points.
#22 - 1.5 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (1 points):
I almost cant see RCs and VC here. If RCs is not mandatory, VC is a must. GC is hard to see too.
Visual appearence (0.5 points):
Same problems as #2. Well, It has the same author too.
Creativity (0 points):
I got tired of sandwiches.
Personal opinion (0 points):
Same as #2, except last sentence.
#23 - 3 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (0.5 points):
I have the feeling, that author tried to had two gilrs in this playmat. He was successful - it's hard to see them. Background ends off suddenly. Colours is bad - with such background you should've chosen different ones.
Creativity (0.5 points):
I needed some time to norice, that RCs are not standart. It's sad that their creativity sank in the background.
Personal opinion (0 points):
It's bad for the reasons, I explained in other criteria.
#24 - 3.5 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points):
All is alright, except RC's placement - they are not symmetry. You can see it, by trying this mat out in CFA. Drop-zone is on the left of it's standart location.
Visual appearence (1.5 points):
Background ends off suddenly. Zone's colours could be better, so they blend in with background and girls.
Creativity (0 points):
Nothing creative here.
Personal opinion (0.5 points):
Nevertheless author did good job at cearching for arts and background. But I have a feeling this mat is not finished. Very strong feeling.
#25 - 4 points. Author: Lunaskre6.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points):
Despite there is no people, who dont like sleepeing tyans, it's clear that background suddenly cuts off there. Colour of GC is not fitting the rest of mat at all. And tyan is almost invisible, I barely see her.
Creativity (0 points):
Nothing Creative here.
Personal opinion (1 points):
If you forget about GC, this mat is pretty decent. I guess it's because other colours is very good.
#26 - 8 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (3 points):
It looks awesome. It's not even because I like the arts - this mat is two-sided and upper part is Яeverse themed. Author did great work, though it's hard to see Maelstroms here, but I wont take away points for it.
Creativity (1 points):
Nothing overcreative here, but idea of Яeverse side if unique in this contest.
Personal opinion (2 points):
One of the best playmats in the contest. Splendid! I'd reccomend AF players and Leon fans to use it
#27 - 6 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (1 points):
All is alright, but I cant find GC.
Visual appearence (2 points):
Background suddenly ends off. Other then that mat looks good.
Creativity (1.5 points):
VC and RCs are interesting, but other elements are standart.
Personal opinion (1.5 points):
Absence of GC ruined this mat, but it's very decent: both colours and elements of the mat blends in very nice. And maybe this mat is a little too bright.
#28 - 2.5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points):
All is alright, except VC and RC are looking the same - it should not be like that.
Visual appearence (0 points):
Background is ugly as is damage zone and all images, that were used. The only nice image here is VC and RCs. Also GC is too big, you can check in CFa, why.
Creativity (1 points):
Well, author changed all he could... but in reality he just placed gilrs everywhere. And the girls images have very low quality.
Personal opinion (0 points):
Too many fails in this mat. Idea was interesting, but realisation is bad.
#29 - 5 points. Author: T-SP Access.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points):
Same as #5.
Visual appearence (2.5 points):
Everything is like #5 mat, but this time Kamui image's resolution is making mat look worse. And it's a little too bright.
Personal opinion (1 points):
I liked Sion/Aglovale playmat more then this one. Maybe it's cause there were less fails, and it had softer colours.
#30 - 1 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (1 points):
VC is invisible, but other than that everything is alright.
Visual appearence (0 points):
This is awful. Mat is so crowded with SP arts, that most elements just sank in them. Also placing images in all zones except VC, RC and GC is... Background ends off suddenly too.
Creativity (0 points):
None.
Personal opinion (0 points):
One of the worst mats in the contest.
#31 - 6 points. Author: Barian Police.
Accordance to the task (2 points):
All is alright.
Visual appearence (2.5 points):
Cute o_O But GC got cut on the sides somohow. Background is too blurred compared to other elements. Maybe it's because "circles" have stroke, but if you'll remove it, it will look worse. Other than that I dont see any fails.
Creativity (1.5 points):
I wish you changed damage, drop-zone and deck too.
Personal opinion (0 points):
Even if I gave many points for other critetia, I dont like this mat for 3 reasons. First, girls are cute, but I dont feel, like they should be VC and RCs. It would be better if you changed Vc and Rcs as you changed guardian circle. Second, I cant turn around this mat. It's fine to play it, while your on the bottom side, but player on the top side will see upside down background. Third, there is some fails like at the deck. Also drop-zone is on th eleft of it's standart location.
As you can see, there is 3 playmats, that got equal highest number of points, so i need to choose one of them. But hey, ryuji and Rosalia already won in user's voting, so it makes things easy. The winner is
UnknownKIRA with #26 playmat
. Congratulations, you may PM me to get 2 sleeves of your shoice ^^
