General Rules / Evolution Tracker

Just to get them properly listed out. Posts that break these rules will be edited upon demand or deleted.

General Rules:


* Godmodding - A lot of definitions for this one. To make a long story short, however, it's when a character is simply too powerful, more or less controls other characters by making responses for them without the other's consent, having things they should not be able to, doing things they shouldn't be able too... Basically, playing God. You're not even close, so don't do it.
* Power Playing - Let's talk about a scenario. Say a bunch of deities are having a conversation in Heaven about how to smack humans into shape. Now let's say your character knows this fact for absolutely no reason. That's a form of power playing. Knowing things you shouldn't and/or doing things you shouldn't. It's another form of Godmodding, but it needs to be emphasized that both are offenses of the same category, and neither are encouraged nor smiled upon.
* Evolution - Poster boy cards in Vanguard eventually get new forms. Usually in the forms of Crossrides or otherwise close enough. Wanting these is fine, but it's when to get them that you need to be clear about. Timing and what you want to develop into need to be discussed with and approved by staff. If you get a no, just wait a bit. Don't immediately jump in at your own consent.
For these, make sure to message me on here or on Skype about what your plans are. Even if I approve them, if it is done and still too early, then it must be taken down. Tell me specifics of the plan and a general time frame (early game, mid game, endgame) or a specific event in which the evolution card would be obtained. If there are any changes to the plans, make sure to tell me as any changes would mean that you would have to get it approved again.
* Disappearing - This one isn't as serious as the others, nor it does really involve posting. It actually involves the opposite. The severity of this rule is by a character to character basis. It's just good manners to let the staff or me, the host know if you are going to be gone for long periods of time. That way we are able to plan around the absence of your character. It is best to have your character leave the setting as well.
* Clan Limts/Avatar Limits - Depite the limited card pool, we also don't have that many roleplayers in general. The current maximum amount of people who may share the same avatar are 2. There are characters that speak to their cards, so take note that if you do and share the card as an avatar with someone else, make sure to have the card notice the other champion and respect them, depending on the role they play. Clan Limits largely vary by the different avatars, types of cards, types decks, and the overall diversity of the roleplay. There is no set numbers, so it is "played by ear" by hosts and thus decided on gut feelings. Please listen to staff members on posts of clan registrations closing.
* Multiple Charaters - If you are an active roleplayer, then you may have up to three characters, but make sure to ask and speak with me or a staff member first.
In-RP Knick Knacks:


* Materializing Units/Unit NPCs - Units materializing themselves on Earth is allowed on certain conditions. They are not permanent. It is done through a Cardfight. The units may affect the setting and cause destruction around the area through their battling as long as it is within reason and in a fight. This is a Vanguard RP, being able to take out Grade 3 units at will would remove the point of playing the card game in the first place to resolve problems if you can just smack your opponent by summoning up Dragonic Overlord out of his card like Charizard from a Pokeball. Units may speak to the character through thoughts. Make sure to take caution if this unit is shared as an avatar with another player and make sure that they unit takes notice of the other player as well and lines up with the other character if necessary.
* Powers - Before having your character receive a certain power, notify me or have a staff member notify me. Character powers can add to the plot and/or be around for flashiness reasons. If they are used outside of a fight for combat, they are not allowed. If powers are used in tangent with a fight and adds to the result in terms flashiness then it is allowed. Use of powers in ways that would defeat the need to resolve issues in a Cardfight are unacceptable.
* Dice Rolls - This RP has no system similar to that so all forms of conflict are resolved through Vanguard. If there is a conflict within the RP and one of those involved cannot fight, bring the conflict to the host. If I am not on then bring it to the staff to have it be resolved.
* Plot Armor - Communication is key as there are certain games in which a certain character would be unable to lose. Make sure to communicate with the person whom you are fighting before the fight starts or is initiated to make sure that a pre-determined fight outcome is fine. If so then fight normally then the character with "plot armor" can stack their deck whenever necessary for a nice and stylish victory or miracle heal. The one without it may also do as long as the agreed upon result is what comes up in the forum posts. Just have fun with it! As the Host:

There are a lot of blurry lines especially as the host on what I can and cannot do. What lines I may a cross or may not cross, but I will clarify:
I will follow the rules like everyone else as a fellow roleplayer. This is all unless the situation calls for it. Furthermore, I expect to know everyone's plans so that I may control the pacing and plot progression of the roleplay.

I can close and open areas as I wish. I may also move characters around as well as posts if they do not fit. I can delete posts if they do not belong or are not allowed in a certain area ( though in most cases, I will just pm the user a notice to move the post ). This portion is mostly used in diffusing situations if they get out of hand.

When it comes to character development, I can control that as well. Yes it is your character and yes all the blahblah about god modding and such, but understand that those apply to other roleplayers, and like I said, I will follow said rule as fellow roleplayer. Though as a host, it is a different story. I don't do it to be a jerk or anything, there is usually an actual reason.

In regards to evolution cards again, if I am not notified of an event in which the evolution happens, and somehow do not approve of the timing or the card, I reserve the right to delete the post.
Things will go by a pace in which I am comfortable. Things in terms of evolution cards and character development are the same. Whether it is selfish or not, it is the very least the right that reserve as the host. Trust me, if you guys say that the plot needs to slow down then I will slow down, but if I say that your character is moving forward too quickly, then listen to me out of common courtesy.
If you are in the act of doing the card evolution or you have done so and I do not approve, edit the post or it will get deleted. 99.99999% of the time, there should be a solution around it.
If I say no, it is a no, no "ifs" and "buts" about it. At times, it's not that the evolution is completely reject, but rather, the timing of it is just off.

Evolution Tracker:
- List of evolution cards and which characters are approved to recieve them. (Limit is usually 2)
- Being on this list means that the card is reserved for your character, but it also does not mean you are free to receive it. You may when the time is right.
- Not every character will have an evolution, but that doesn't mean its the end of the world in terms of character development.

Twilight Baron:

Reverse units are forms of evolution which are received upon becoming reversed in the story. If it involves a clan change, I must be notified, but if your current clan has a reverse unit, you are free to take it so long as your character is reversed. Once reverse is lifted, characters are free to keep them so long as they are not treated as anything special.
