Announcement!

Points Adjustment!

Due to majority of the participants opinions on how the starting lead of +3000 Points is a bit too much of a lead, we've decided to make some minor changes so it's balanced to a certain extent giving most teams a more competing chance but also still rewarding the winners of what's rightfully theirs.

In order to progress for all teams who have recieved the 3000 point bonus from the beginning of the event, must update their team thread with the following:
Their team score must -3000 points
+2 new clans of their choosing into the clan pool.

To do so, go to the thread in which you posted for the 3k points and put the following to claim the 2 free clans.
Cost: 3k points
Rewards: +2 Clans (Clan #1 & Clan #2)

The -3k is MANDATORY, The clans however is optional. Any team that hasn't adjusted this will be manually adjusted come Sunday.

Starfight Tournaments Update
This is for any/all future tournaments especially those happening within the Starfight Team League Event. It talks about who may enter, who may use what, and all other additional information for those participating in tournaments for those in the Team League Event and those who are not in the Team League Event.

--- Quote from: Zane Kisaragi on July 01, 2017, 04:47:01 PM ---Starfight Team Event Rule!
All participants of the Starfight Team Event get 100 points added to their team per round that they win. This is for all tournaments and is also listed in the rules of the tournament under Starfight Team Event Exclusive!

In addition, those not in a Starfight Team may still enter the tournament but will not get any points. This and any/all future Starfight Tournaments are not exclusive to those in Starfight Teams, anyone may enter.

Lastly, those who enter who do not have a Starfight Team may pick any clan they want. Those who enter that are on Starfight Teams must pick a clan from their clan pool only.

Clan Purchasing!

Clans can now be purchased for 500 Points instead of 1000 Points for the remainder of the Event!

Under 25 Bonus!

Any teams that have under 2500 Points at the start of a Star Battle recieve an additional 300 points per each Star Battle they are in (regardless of them winning or losing). This was done for teams that are new and wanted to register but felt they would be too far behind and any teams that slowed down at some point during the event. This will last until the end of the Starfight Team Event: August 31st 2017.

To claim this Bonus: You have to put in your Star Battle Report "Under 25 Bonus" next to challenge portion and how much points you received from in addition to any other challenge that you completed during that Star Battle.

Major Update & Announcements!

So to start this off, I didn't exactly know where to put this all at but I figured I'd make use of this section until I make an Event Tracker thread for Winter 2017. So like I said at the end of Starfight Summer League: "For those whom suggested ideas to help expand and make these events interesting and whatnot: don't worry, we've listened to your feedback, suggestions, ideas, and criticisms and have begun polishing up Starfight overall and even implemented new ideas that were directly suggested by you, so that each Starfight Event offers a new experience." This is for you.

Starfight Winter!

Starfight Team League - Winter Cup 2017: December 17th 2017 - Janurary 21st 2018!

A major criticism was that Starfight Summer lasted too long, which caused a shortage of teams with some of them having to drop, especially after a major point gap due to those who were fully able to commit their time into Starfight. The reason I felt the entirety of summer was sufficient was that: it gave players and teams time to catch up and make comebacks and to have chances for updates to actually affect the League with the release of new clans and support. So to balance this, we decided to cut Starfight Team League, especially for winter: down to 6 weeks. A month is too short to fully enjoy and grasp it the thrill of the event but two months is too long, especially for winter whom after the holidays: school/classes resume.

New Point System!
So, I've decided to take a more simple approach on the point system because the old one was confusing for many people. That being said, we made a new point system which will focus on rewarding for individual victories, even if you don't win the Star Battle. As for the point numbers, I'll update the Point System Thread.

Format Changes!
So I should get to the bulk of Winter with this.

* All Star Battles will be played in a 3v3 Conquest Theme. (Meaning at the start of each Star Battle, each team selects two clans from the opposing side's clan pool and restricts them from using those clans in the current Star Battle). Again, this is for Star Battles only! Not the tournaments nor Midnight Showdowns.
* All Teams will start off with 6 Clans for their clan pool!
* In addition to purchasing clans, you may also unlock clans by claiming them by obtaining a Win Streak! You may only submit this claim once a week!
* Tournaments will not award the free +100 Points to your Starfight Team's score, for no-shows.
* Starfight is strictly Discord based! We do not support Skype! I left a message in the Starfight Skype Chat that it would be difficult to actively participate in Starfight Team Leagues when most, if not all, of the contestants and hosts have defaulted to Discord as their means of communication.
Special Rules in Tournaments!
Another major criticism was the Special Rules which, originally, was our main appeal. After many complications with the rules as far as balancing them and making sure each and every rule wouldn't conflict/render decks useless or overpower decks. Each and every Special Rule tournament there was always an issue and trying to create new and interesting rules was also a hassle. It was also decided that the special rules interfered with Starfight's authenticity as a "competitive event" with rules outside of the game being thrown into the mix. So sadly, we had to remove the special rules from tournaments but we'll keep some of the rules as challenges maybe or just for throwback tournaments.

Midnight Showdowns!
The most thrilling and adrenaline pumping part of the event: risking it all for a chance to win it all! Midnight Showdowns were both fun to watch and participate since these had the power to change the very foundation of the standings/rankings. However, it was slightly upsetting to see such a risky maneuver end so shortly. So instead we've added a few new rules.

* Midnight Showdowns may be done in 5v5s in addition to 3v3s!
* Midnight Showdowns may only be done in Normal FormatThese two rules were added because it would a chance for the entire team to fight for their points, but making it a Normal setting would balance out an exaggerated 5v5 Gunslinger/Roundout. Hopefully this make Midnight Showdowns a bit more flexible and more engaging for the entire team.

Starfight Winter Prize!
Due to Starfight being 6 weeks, I would like to award the prize only to the first place team! You may pick any of the offered prizes including ones from 2nd & 3rd Places, which can be seen from the Main Page!

Zeroth Dragons!
Until further notice, we've decided that Zeroth Dragons will be restricted from Starfight Winter. It's not because of the strength of the units themselves, but the simple fact that there are only two right now (and potentially a third during Starfight Winter) and will provide an unfair advantage for those nations, on top of additional support for the clans in said nations. They aren't cards that are needed to be in a deck, but are a luxury, so restricting them shouldn't be an issue.
Lastly a few things I wanted to touch on. I ultimately made Starfight Team League to bring a competitive change within Cardfight Area, especially for those who only have Area as their only source of playing Vanguard. In Summer, the team that took first place was a team I made of people I trusted and believed in who would also allow me to compete in the event in also have fun. Each of my members had their own goals and desires that they were hoping to achieve from participating. It made me feel happy to see that we each obtained the goal(s) that we set for ourselves. That being said, I wish for other teams to be able to use Starfight Team League as a way to obtain whatever it is they're hoping to gain out of it, whether that's the prize, recognition, competitive scene, or something else. So I, will not be entering in Winter Starfight as a competitor but strictly staying involved by running it and being a host. I encourage everyone to aim for their goals, shoot for the top, and seize the moment to experience Vanguard in an entirely new perspective!
Teams may now be registered in the Team Lounge!Just please remember to follow the Team Thread Format and to have all 6 clans selected before the start of the event to be able to participate when Starfight Winter starts! All of this will be re-posted in a more organized fashion in the Winter Weekly Tracker.
For more information regarding this team league series, I encourage you to please contact me on Discord (Zan Kisaragi#6223), join our Starfight Discord Chat or PM me here on the forums! Thank you all very much and hope to see you all in the Winter League!
