Uneven Team Battles
(1/1)
Kisaragi Zane:
I've been thinking on this for a while and for those who haven't had a chance to see statements I've been making throughout the CFA discord, this will catch you up really quick.
I feel that even though Vanguard is an a really bad/undesirable state of playing, it's fair to agree that people still want to and like to play. People still play in real life against other people and especially in tournaments. Though, I believe playing on Cardfight Area (or at least amongst our community) is where it becomes a tad more tedious to just being able to play the game.
I'm of course talking about the concept that you have to be on a team in order to play the game consistently (unless you're playing in tournaments *coughs* or if you're willing to play people for practice or even those you don't know i.e. spawn area). I feel this makes consistent play inaccessible to the majority that want to play but have to rely on having someone else with them - and that's not including all players agreeing on the same format which is a bit of an issue all on it's own.
The idea of being on a team or having at least the same number of people as the opposing team can more often than not be the result of not being able to play the game at all. So a solution to this is honestly allow people to play with uneven numbers. This can range from anything being 1vX, 2v3, 5v9, 10v100, etc etc. The overall purpose of this is to simply allow more players to be able to play the game without the restriction of needing to be on a team or needing to find an equal amount in the event that they're on a team. Furthering my point on this, we're already willing to engage in uneven numbers through the formats of Gunslinger and Roundout where although it'll start off even, can result at times where one person sweeps an entire team by themselves or even have a round start with uneven numbers.
Granted, I understand that this concept does seem unfair because unless you give a special handicap, there's a disadvantage in numbers for the lacking side - but I don't look at it like that since while it is a team battle, there's no incentive from winning nor a penalty from losing to enforce both sides having an even amount. If it was a team tournament, I'd completely understand but team battles are really just people who want to play the game and to be able to play consistently with the absence of tournaments and/or other events. Plus, as a personal tidbit, I find it unhealthy to enforce the mentality that you need to be on a team in order to play any game - not just Vanguard.
But those are my thoughts on the matter. Would be interesting to hear the thoughts and opinions what other people think about this.
NubKnightZ:
Just even the uneven numbers with extra "lives" if people care. 1 v 3 but the 1 gets to lose twice.

I see that CFA is finally making the "Nika Format" Cannon.
