What about games like Hearthstone? They have leader boards and it's a really fast growing community. Or the MTG online?
Just because one failed, doesn't mean they all do.

I never played those games. I never heard of Hearthstone but what I did heard about MTG (worse than YGO). Vanguard community has the same aura as YGO. As long as we keep things that will ignite hate and vanity such as lust for high rating and getting sleeves, we will be a good community.
Respect is more important than rating, It can be gain only by participating in tournaments and similar events and through your posting.

Sounds like you want social acceptance.
Hearthstone is a game online card game made by Blizzard. Really popular.
And I would have to disagree with you on the Aura Part. I've been playing Yugioh since 2001, online since 2006, and I can tell you the amount of butthurt in vanguard in really small compared to yugioh.
Also, your opinion still seems completely biased. You can't give facts on this matter. You say getting card sleeves made people hate each other? It's not a competition, it's just luck. Of course it was a dumb idea in the first place.

if i ranking system of any kind is implemented it would destroy the chance for new players to be welcomed.

and the already mention elitism from players that believe they are superior.

this idea has been propoused multiple times already and i incourage the mods to lock any future topic of a game wide ranking system.
but leave a message stating the reason.

That's why there exists seasons. After a season ends your stats are reset. That way new players are welcome. Think outside the box people. If you see a problem with an idea, think of how to improve it. Use your brains. I shouldn't have to spell out every crucial detail.

--- Quote from: Deiske on May 25, 2014, 02:48:31 PM ---It'd be nice if our in-game accounts held information on our win/loss ratio's. This would mean implementing a leader board and a new system for keeping track of players. This would determine how well skilled a player is compared to others. I dislike playing people that have no idea how to play and it'd be nice to see someones stats before playing them. For that, I suggest an alt+left click on a members icon and it will show you their wins, losses, most used clan, and other things. Forum account connection would be a great implementation as well. Wouldn't it be nice if all your wins were tracked instead?

Needs like a Dueling Network type thing with stats lol. With like, stats that u can check on other players so people can cardfight others with stats similar to there's like a pair thing but that'd be difficult but i do like that idea of what you're saying though. So the players who are like beginners, etc can cardfight players who are I guess at the same level or w/e but i always liked playing people who are better than me. Helps me get better lol.
