Title: NetDecking, and what should be done about it
Post by: NeoBuster on April 24, 2015, 02:43:07 PM
Hello everyone,

Recently a situation came up that a person copied my deck card for card. As upset as I am about this, most people say I shouldn't be upset because this person did not claim it as his deck. Now I believe that netdecking someone is wrong because the cardfighter who put all of his hard work into the deck and to have it taken and used by someone else is an insult to the fighter. Now I am fully aware that this individual has netdecked many other players and decks and at times called it his own deck. I can understand if someone posted a deck on the forum or something and someone used it, but the fact this person copied me 100% is what has me upset. I am posting this to let the community know that this should not be tolerated because most of us put our heart and soul into our decks and playstyles, and to have it be copied by someone is an insult to us. Lets spread the news of this to all fighters to prevent netdecking like this.

Thank you

oh my god you actually made a thread about this

How is it an insult to the fighter if they're not stealing the deck by claiming it's their deck and they came up with it?! People who idolize others take after them in a way of looking up to them. The person you're talking about has taken a lot of decks and probably does not look up to everyone who uses those decks, but that in no way makes it an insult.

You're spreading the news of this and what is it gonna do? Make people stop posting in deck discussion? Play the same decks less so people can't list and copy every card?

If someone copies your deck and says "I made this", "This is my deck", "I came up with this", "The idea of this is mine", or anything like that. It's stealing and you can be rightfully pissed off about it. But it has been stated numerous times that this person didn't say any of that about your deck. You should be more aggravated about being stalked than this.

We put our hearts and souls into our decks and styles! Someone else wants to try them and use them, whose to say it's malicious?! You should be happy that said styles/decks got enough recognition for more than praise; they got enough recognition for someone to desire using them. I have stated multiple times before that it's a form of flattery, and from what I stated above, it's also admiration. You put so much into your deck, how would you feel if you tried to tell someone about your efforts, and then they brushed it off or just didn't pay you any mind?

Someone claiming that work as their own? Yeah, we shouldn't tolerate that, and we can band together to do something. But if they didn't claim it as their own, what exactly is the problem?

*************** says to me:
I just want to know why you stoop so low as to netdeck people
[19:30:34] ***************: It just boggles my mind
[19:31:28] ***************: And then you go post it on a forum?

Yes it's true, of my deck looks like less of something neobuster, the reason is I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE SUCH AS FIGHT BAN OR SOMETHING, SOME SAY NO PROBLEM FOR ONE THING THAT LIVED fighting for, AND IT NOT WILL LIKE THAT copy or DO THE SAME THING SHE. That's why, I made perhaps a s*** but I want to reward neobuster so. And is apologizing because they will not be accepted, but even deleting the deck and eliminating the own recycling he does not believe and will get me wrong. Sorry, neobuster ^^

I'm not understanding the reason for netdecking, because of the garbled English. But that isn't the point anyway.

You're trying to apologize and you acknowledge it's Neo's deck. You also didn't flat-out say it's not his and you came up with it, so you didn't claim it as your work.

Also, I'm merging this with the other thread. We don't need a million threads for this. And I still personally don't think this is the problem you need to work on. You should've asked Neo if you felt the need to watch his fights to make his deck. His deck wasn't posted in Deck Discussion publicly for a reason.

i have personally netdecked people and have been netdecked a few times, now its impossible to stop someone from using an exact copy of your deck and the best advice i can give is to just let it go and move allong. this person might never be able to use the deck the way you do and if we keep complaining that people are netdecking us all the time then it will only start up a storm of he/she said he/she said.

in the end people will want to emmulate others but i think it would be less problematic if someone does admit where they learned or got there strategy from, allot of people are in a must win mentality so if you make the strongest deck dont be surprise someone copies  it because everyone wants to have that OP deck.

in short if someone netdecks you let it go build something else and if you netdeck someone admit it and move on there is nothing you can lose.
