Title: What you see when watching others fight.
Post by: WaiterFang on May 08, 2014, 12:08:23 AM
Personally, I would to have the option to choose from watching someone's fight from the beginning or watching their fight from what's happening currently. In my opinion, if mixed with a mutable watcher's chat. It could make hosting tournaments easier and sending the host replays to ensure rules were followed would be less necessary.

You can watch someone's fight from the beginning if they finished the game and you exit it'll give you the chance to save the replay if I'm not mistaken or you can ask the guy who you're spectating save the replay and send it through skype and just watch it in your cfa

Good point, but my biggest reason for asking this is so it would be easier to see where people "cheated" or didn't follow rules during a tourney or something. Hosting tourneys might be more appealing to some people if they didn't have to watch a whole fight, but just the current part where any problems might be.  If more people hosted tourneys, this forum could be more lively.

They could give time for tourneys like round 1 shall be this day and time until this day and time  then after the tourney is done if the judges(if there is any) and the owner aren't present they should ask the people the send their replays to them through skype or even better the judges and owner watches the fight live and also make sure the contestant knows or is aware of the rules and knowing if they put the card top or bottom for example ott magus they can just check the log by pressing Q to see if they put it top or bottom. and people should be honest bout it :D

I'm ok with trusting people's honesty and the separate round times to watch fights is ok, but sometimes participants or judges can't make it to the next round if they have a busy schedule during that time and time zones conflict. It's always sad when a person works hard to make it through a round, but they can't go to the next one if they don't have time. This is what I'm worried about and think would make tournaments easier, faster, and efficient.

Since I don't want another long quote I'm gonna start here XD

But then  the owner or judges should have a concrete time plan if he's going to host a tournament or be a judge as well as the participants should be informed of the time plan making it like Round 1 shall be 20th may at 07:00 GMT+8 and then Round 2 will commence at 21st May at 18:00 GMT+8, The participants should also be fully aware of the time difference between theirs and the owner's if they are going to participate and check for any plans. If emergency plans came up during the tourney well there's always a next time and is disqualified

Not sent any data on the time committed action. Server simply stores a sequence of actions, until a player does not ask for them. So in fact you can not save the replay as a spectator even if you answer "yes."

Oh thank you for the information, sorry if this request may seem needy or such.

I suppose one of the better options would be to require all participants to save their replays and you could just request the ones you want to see, or be sent the ones where any foul play was suspected.
They could always delete them after the tournament is over.
You could have other people willing to judge as well, that way you won't be sent a flood of videos for larger tournaments.

True, I'll just look at certain replays or ask some friends to help judge.

Except for that I would like watchers to have access to chat of the table so they can help with skills etc.
