Title: [Aqua Force] Glorious Marine General, Zaharias!
Post by: AloisTrancy on September 27, 2014, 06:12:29 PM
I don't think I've put up a profile for my Aqua Force Legion Deck yet so:

Grade 0:
Blue Storm Cadet, Anos x 1
Battle Siren, Marika x 4
Blue Storm Soldier, Missile Trooper x 4
Supersonic Sailor x 4
Blue Storm Soldier, Kitchen Sailor x 4

Grade 1:
Blue Storm Battle Princess, Electra x 4
Blue Storm Soldier, Tempest Border x 4
Blue Storm Soldier, Tempest Blader x 3
Flash Signal Light Penguin Soldier x 2
Battle Siren, Dorothea x 2

Grade 2:
Blue Storm Marine General, Ianis x 4
Blue Storm Marine General, Starless x 4
Blue Storm Marine General, Gregorious x 3

Grade 3:
Blue Storm Marine General, Zaharias x 4
Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom x 3

Trigger set up is made for maximum pressure with Zaharias' skill, standing 2 units and granting 5k and a crit to the third makes for insane pressure when Zaha goes off. Penguin Soldier is there to get Zaharias and Ianis out of the soul so I can relegion and shove them back into the deck, also gives me some hand boosts. Tempest Blader can give Gregorious +3k and let the column swing for 21k during a turn, and 31k if I manage to get off Zaha's skill on it. Marika can assist this with her skill. Tempest Border is there in case I don't have enough g1's to set up strong columns, allowing me to set up for multiple swings instead. Running Dorothea instead of Mambo Soldier so Glories skill can swing for 26k even when I'm not in legion. May change her for Deck Sweeper if she doesn't work out.

Ianis is a given, as is Gregorious. Starless is there for the same reason as tempest, though I may remove him in favor of Battle Siren, Callista to add more pressure. No Argos Because Ianis is a better version. Zaharias is a given, Running Glory because he works as a strong alternate vanguard and can become a final turn if I need the push. Also I love Glory Maelstrom.

Does Tempest and Starless do anything for you in this deck for the most part?

A few things I'd like to suggest really.

Don't use Anos as starter for a Zaharias build. Zaharias isn't built to combo for 4 attacks like Tetra Burst. It pressures more than its meant to when you don't know if the legion skill will come.

Not to mention if you have to ride Glory first. It kinda cripples your game plan.

Glory Maelstrom isn't a stronger finisher anymore due to how well people do set up their decks that they can compact against anything on the 20k power lane.

Also Dorothea isn't needed in Zaharias as well since you'd rather hit 26 or 31. Dorothea will only make it hit over 31 if you use a counterblast to beef up Zaharias.

My best aqua force deck uses Maelstrom reverse with LB4 remover as it can pressure early game with either more damage or more draw power. Thats my general suggestion really.

Also Spyros is really more handy than Starless in this build. It gurantees your 4th attack strategy with anything.

Casey:
Starless acts as a second 12k attacker when I don't intend to do 4 attacks and he can easily allow me to use anos when I'm ready to pull it off. Though as I said, I'm considering ditching him for the Siren that stands a rear and gives +5k to it. Not 100% on that yet tho.
Tempest is a good 7k booster that lets me swap 2 G3/12k attackers in case I don't get grade 1 boosters early enough. It can also set up good rush strategies, to allow the deck to pull off up to a maximum of 7 attacks, assuming Zaha's skill goes off twice.

Sinon:
Anos is useful to kill a starter if possible, otherwise he sits around to be a nice booster until I can use him. Outside of him, the only starter I'd consider playing is the G3 Searcher, on top of this, I've used Zaha's deck many times with anos and he doesn't hinder it any. Zaharias isn't built to need 4 attacks, but there's nothing saying you can't combo with 4 attacks anyways. The deck still works if you do or don't.
Dorothea isn't for Zaharias, it's for Glory Maelstrom, mostly. But even so, using her as a booster is the same as using any other 6k for the legion, so I don't see why I shouldn't. The only unit id consider replacing her with is deck sweeper and he wouldn't be the best choice, since I couldn't hit more than 24k if I had to use him to boost Zaha.
Spyros requires a cb, and isn't much better than Starless for 4 attacks. Since I'm not running an unflipper, I don't want unnecessary cbs, especially when the focus isn't to rely on 4 attacks.
Glory is here because he does work as a final turn unit, with a very powerful skill. But he is defintiely not the decks focus. Even if people prepare to face 20k columns or more now, facing down 26k with no grade 1+ allowed will still be a scary thought. Glory may not be as fearsome as, say, Prom Glare or Yggdrasil, but he is no less powerful when it comes to ending a game.
