Title: (GS3) Field: Forest

Probably the best place for those who want to go green.

Field Status
There a birds chirping and insects along the trees.
There is the usual smell of leaves and dirt.
The ground is dry.

What is a field?
A field is an area where events between characters or even individual characters may happen. As replies to these posts, characters may chronicle events that transpire between each other which would often be as a result of or due to a Cardfight. Field events are great ways to develop characters as well as character relationships. Field events, for example, could include a Cardfight as part of a rivalry between two individuals. It can be something as simple as a simple outing or meeting that then leads to a game of Vanguard. Or something that would greatly move the plot, a fight between someone of the heroic affinity and someone of the villainous affinity.

Remember, Cray is looking for the best of the best to be a leader. This does not mean that the leader has to be filled with good intentions, its anyone who the cards seem to decide is fit. Heroes can do as much as they can, but without villains pushing the story forward with their schemes, there isn't much to save. So if you are on the villainous side, use these areas to move along with your plots and schemes. You may ask others to come and roleplay with you and anyone can post in these areas, there is no limit other than that of being logical and simply just being respectful to your fellow fighters.

Any character that you interact with during field events may get affinity +1 or -1 with you.
Certain fields may have special events and things happening there in order to start up some action.

Post events that transpire below based on you character's own perspective, and just have fun with it!
Good luck!

After quite a long walk, Miyuki finally reached the forest. After a rather interesting day yesterday, she felt like a little breathing room would be nice. Sure it was nice to be in a group of people, but having a walk without 7 other people there was good. For this reason she'd headed to the forest, instead of her usual walks around the park.

Breathing in the fresh air, she looked around. There was no trace of the city around here, and it being late-ish in the day, there also didn't seem to be many people around. Perfect for a place to think and walk around a bit.

In fact, what was yesterday about? Quite a lot of things had felt odd about it. The feeling of being new to Pale Moon. How she felt when she looked at and rode Farah. Even when the new person, Neo had ridden Vermillion, she felt weird. Why was this?

'Maybe I should ask Yukino or Hana about this' she said aloud. Actually no, it probably wasn't anything worth trouble them over. She continued to walk through the forest, deep in thought.

"Hi Mi-hime!!" Hana waved at Miyuki from the top of the small hill. She had invited Miyuki over via text message an hour ago when they had just opened this forest as a hike trail to the public.

Spotting Hana on the hill, she smiled. Of course Hana would have gotten there first, she was the one who had found the place, and probably rushed on ahead. For a second she was almost tempted to ask Hana if she knew anything about what was happening, but decided against it. It didn't really seem that important right now, and bothering Hana wouldn't be good. Although Hana had changed over the last two months, she didn't want to press her about anything.

'Hiii Hana-chan' she said, reaching the hill. 'I hope I haven't kept you waiting here long'. She stopped for a few seconds, trying to get her breath back. 'So, how did you even find out about this place?'

"One of my dad's friends said that they opened a new hiking trail here, and I thought that it would be fun!"

Hana was holding a basket in her hand and she showed it to Miyuki.

"L-look I even packed us some food to eat later."

'Ah, sounds good~ Your dad sure knows a lot of people. And ooohhh food! That sounds good'. Food did indeed sound great, she hadn't eaten all day pretty much, despite having a 'larger than average' meal yesterday.

'So, where exactly do we go for this hiking trail?' she asked. Looking around, there were a few possibly paths that could be the trail, so rather than get lost, she wanted to check where they were going.

Looking around, she notices plenty of forks and separate paths. Since they both were tired from yesterday, the best bet was to likely go was to figure out the easiest path, just have a relaxing walk in the forest.

"Let's go take this one." Hana walked towards the path with a green ribbon next to it, signaling that its an easy path.

She runs back and stands beside Mi-hime. "Let's go!"

After cardfighting Kurai, Neo headed through the forest. Barely able to walk and feeling very weak, Neo tried his hardest to walk through the forest to find the city again. "This pain.. it hurts.." Neo said while walking. After walking for a long while, Neo couldnt take another step and passed out on one of the forest's many paths. "Help me..." Neo said before passing out on the ground.

She walked with Hana to the path, and then followed the winding path. It gently rose and fell at times, but it was an easy path, comfortable to walk on. She chatted with Hana about various random things, about how the shops in the disctrict were going, how the mansion was and so on. She even got a bit more information on the 'footstools', learning that they had almost died when they first met Mr. Espoir. She could imagine that clearly, she'd met him a few times, and she could easily see him crushing those two men.

After they'd been walking for a while, they reached a stream. 'Since it's such a nice spot here, want to stop here for a break and eat?' She was getting slightly hungry, and it was quite a nice view.

Haruki followed the Narukami user out of Shop Handsome, all the way to the forest. A weird place to be, but no matter, it was fine as long as he could get a chance to sit and talk with the guy. The man started mumbling as he walked, but soon after passed out onto the ground. Haruki was shocked that he hadn't noticed how ill he was until this moment. He quickly reached into his bag for the supplies needed to help him, and got down to assist the man, for justice!

"It's going to be alright, hang in there!" Haruki was calling out to no one, as this man was already passed out, but it helped himself calm down anyway.

Neo layed there motionless as Haruki tried to help him, but Neo was too wiped out from the cardfight as if he felt the damage itself. He just layed there as if there was no soul in his body.

Hazama continues to the forest, recalling all the events that happened in Shop Handsome. What a guy he is, Kurai, I hope you are soon destroyed.

He finally makes it to the forest just in time to see Haruki over the Narukami guy, who seems to be passed out.

"WHAT THE ABSOLUTE HELL!" Hazama yells at the sight of that Narukami guy on the ground. "Haruki, move," he commands him. "Help me transport him, we have a small window. We are going to take him deeper in the forest. I need you to trust me on this one."

Haruki saw Hazama beside him, yelling at him to take the passed out man somewhere deeper into the forest. Even though the two had their differences in the past, but Haruki could tell that there was justice still deep inside of Hazama. He couldn't take care of this guy alone, so he put his trust into the one beside him, believing that justice would prevail.

"Alright, lead the way Hazama!"

Hazama and Haruki continue deeper into the forest with the Narukami player's body in their grasps. Ten minutes it took them to reach the spot Hazama was talking about. It was that same circular, clearing where Hazama received his deck from Hercules. Alright we are going to place him right perpendicular to that sword.

They both place him down in the correct position. "Alright, clear the area," Hazama commands Haruki. "Now anything that you see today you cannot tell anyone, or else you die," Hazama says seriously.

He takes the body, pulls out a serum from his backpack. He injects it into the guys neck. "His body should be stable in about an hour, until then we wait, okay Haruki. But really, if you tell anyone I did this you will be sorry."

Haruki watched the event unfold before him. Hazama injected something into the man's body, or something. It didn't make sense to Haruki why they had to be all the way out here to do something so simple, unless it wasn't supposed to be done. Could Hazama have done something illegal just now, as carrying needles around to use on others was serious business. However, he did do it with good intentions, as to help this man recover, so perhaps Hazama was another form of justice, one that had a different set of morals from Haruki's.

"What's good is that he's going to be alright. Thanks for saving this man Hazama, and I won't tell about the supplies you have. I know it's for a good cause."

"The cause of justice!" Haruki thought to himself, as he smiled in relief.

Neo started to slowly wake up. Not realizing where he was, Neo jumped up.

He noticed the person from Shop Handsome and Hazama standing next to him

Still trying to fully recover, Neo tried to remember everything that just happened. "All i remember was fighting Kurai, then after he beat me, I felt weak and passed out" Neo said to himself.

Then he asked the stranger and Hazama "What are you guys doing here?"

"Hmph, isn't it obvious," he says to the Narukami player. "Well, i'm out, Haruki knows the way back," he says to the two people. "May destruction follow you and despair rip you to shreds," he says on his way out.

The stream had clear water, reflecting off the moonlight. Hana thought that it looked really pretty and that this place in general was very calm. There was a weak gust along the trees. Leaves were crashing against one another, fluttering and flying off with the wind. The water crashed along the rocks, causing splashes along the streams. There were the sounds of wings of birds in flight above, and the crickets sounded along the trees. Nature was all around.

"Yeah, lets sit here Mii-hime." Hana placed her basket on the ground and sat next to Miyuki.
"You seem worried lately, are you alright?" She asked.

After watching Hazama leave, Neo looked at the other person.

"He said your name was Haruki?" Neo said to the person while trying to stand up.

Hazama follows the river back to his house as he knows it will take hi to the city. Then he sees Hana and her friend sitting down next to the river. He walks as far back as he needs to and says, "May destruction follow you and despair bring you down to nothing." He then continues walking back to the city engulfed in the nature of the forest.

"You want to know who I am?" Haruki was always prepared for this moment, for someone to ask his name. "I am the light of justice, the strongest man in the world. I, am Haruki Yahagi!" He put his fist up triumphantly as he said this, then got out of his pose to greet him normally.

"Well, it's great to see you're okay now. You took quite a fall in the forest you know, could I get your name?" The young man of justice led the other through the forest as he said this.

"My name is Neo Isamu. Nice to meet you" Neo replied.

"I want to thank you for helping me. But its time for me to go, I still have answers I need to find."

The fact that Neo lost, almost died and still havent found answers bothered him greatly. But he didnt know where to go next..

Affinity +1 to Haruki and Hazama

"Pleasure to have met you Neo. I can tell that your heart is full of justice, and I hope we can be great friends." Haruki just got out of the thick forest with Neo, and had returned to the regular hiking trails.

"You should know the way to your home from here, I'll see you then," the young man of justice said as he waved goodbye to Neo.

Neo AF +1
Hazama AF +1

It was late, so Haruki headed home to get some rest from a long day after returning from his training. In the comfort of his bed, he realized that he forgot one thing.

"I never asked about Limit Break!" Haruki exclaimed in distress.

"That's alright, I'll just ask tomorrow." With an shockingly quick recovery from this depression, Haruki still had a happy smile as he went to sleep, knowing he could count on justice to prevail in the end.

She froze slightly at Hana's comment. 'A-ah, well.' She wasn't fully sure what to do. Hana had obviously noted that she had been acting strangely, even though she had tried to pretend otherwise. Well, it made sense that her best friend could tell. Should she tell Hana though?

'Why not', she thought. 'She's worried anyway, acting as if nothing is wrong would help with nothing'.

After a brief pause, she started. 'Well, it's just, things have been feeling slightly off recently. Yesterday it felt as if I was playing Pale Moon for almost the first time, even though I have had it forever. The card 'Starlight Melody Tamer, Farah', whenever I look at it, I feel strange. The same is true for the card that Neo used, 'Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion'. It was different, but it also felt strange to me, when I saw it.'

She took a deep breath, then continued. 'It felt almost weird seeing you play Angel Feather. By themselves, these things didn't mean much, but them all happening on the same day. I-I just don't know, and it feels strange. I'm not really sure what's going on, it feels like there is something wrong with my head.'

Letting it all out felt weird, and she glanced at Hana hoping that she hadn't said too much. 'Sorry for this being stupid' she said. 'It's just been slowly bothering me. Perhaps even before yesterday. I didn't want to ask you though, you seemed like you were busy with something. Or maybe it was just me.'

She leaned back against the tree and relaxed slightly, glad to have spoken those feelings.

She sat next to Mi-hime who leaned back to relax on a tree, she did as well. She turned to her and looked at her. The light of the moon which reflected off the water now showed her smooth complexion. Her hair too, seemingly reflected off the moonlight. She had the charm of an idol, through and through. Mi-hime seemed more relaxed now though, and Hana felt glad.

"Mi-hime, it's not just you. Things actually have happened and as a result, there have been all these strange things in the past two months." Hana reached for the boxes in her basket. There were at the very least five of them.

"You seem to be feeling better, I'm glad... Look! I made these for myself, just for you Mi-hime, I hope you like them..." One of the boxes had a simple Egg, Ham and Cheese sandwich cut into two. The second one had an omelette with rice inside and "Hime-sama" on top written in ketchup. The third box was filled with rice and topped with a sunny-side up egg. The fourth box was filled with hard boiled eggs. The fifth box had a bunch of scrambled eggs, neatly stacked on top of each other like pancakes.

"I don't want to worry you either Mi-hime..."

Noticing the food, her stomach growled a little. 'Let's eat', she said, smiling. 'It's getting late anyway, so we might as well start soon. We can keep on talking about this in a bit. Oh and it's fineee Hana, it's not like you did anything wrong right? Sorry if I've worried you.'

In a way, she was both glad and a bit unnerved that her feelings had been right. At least she hadn't been making things up, but for something to have actually happened that affected things that much? That couldn't be good.

With that, she opened one of the boxes that Hana had prepared. Taking half of a sandwhich, she started to eat. The food was great for her hungry body, and she felt completely relaxed. Most of the worries that had been bothering her were put aside for now, as she continued to eat.

'This is really good Hana-chan! Thanks for the food~'

"No problem Mi-hime!"

She picked one for herself as well, the omelette. She took our a fork from the basket and began digging in. The peace remained and nature added to the beauty of the whole experience. Hana was smiling, happy to be with Miyuki. She turned to look at Miyuki eating, Hana thought she looked cute per usual. Some of the food seems to have gotten on Mi-hime's face, so Hana took a handkerchief out from her bag, it had a syringe printed on it, and wiped Mi-hime's face with it.

"Hehe, Mi-hime there's something on her face." She giggled and blushed a little.

'A-ah, thanks'. Her cheeks turned slightly red at Hana wiping her face, but she took a deep breath.

Finishing the meal, she stood up and stretched. Noticing that Hana was finished as well, she offered her a hand. 'Should we continue on now, or do you want to stay here or a bit more? I don't really mind either way, the view here is quite nice, but it is getting late.'

She looked around whilst saying this, taking in the beauty of the scenery one more time. Hana leaning against the tree, with the stream and forest as a backdrop seemed almost out of a painting. Whatever happened, she was glad that she could spend time like this with Hana, and was thankful.

Hana took Miyuki's hand and stood up. She continued to hold onto it.

"We should head back, I don't want to worry Yukinee, being out this late!" Hana then led Miyuki towards the direction they went to arrive to this place. "Let's go Mi-hime. Next destination is back over to my house!"

Wandering in the forest, Satoshi was lost in a bit of a haze over his mind. Last night...Haruka and Yukino had been intimate, right? They shared an intimate moment...maybe even several, while he was asleep. It didn't bother him before, but...

His head pulsated again. No, it still didn't bother him, but his mind always wandered back as though it was missing something, and every time it did, he felt as though the world shook underneath him. These unusual headaches had made him wander off from the Residential Area to try and connect with nature. He needed to not think so negatively.

Yet...he was behind them, again. His best friends both had Limit Break. They had insurmountable power, and what did he have? Nothing. He was held back, because it "made sense." His head pulsated again, making him lie against a tree.

Seph frowned, worried for him. It wasn't clear if Satoshi was ready for such power. If only there were a way to test...

Along the woods, a strange door opened up. It was an unfitting building, covered in the trees. Smoke emanated from the open door, and a cool breeze flowed out, carried by the wind which traveled across the trees.

Morning light shone through the treetops of the forest. Haruka paced through a trail, trying to find a place to sit and contemplate what had happened in the last 4 hours. He felt something had a grip on his body and it wasn't letting go. Whatever it was, the feeling had started to fade only a few minutes ago, but the presence was still there.

"Ow ow ow..." Haruka bumped his arm into a branch. Normally this wouldn't evoke such a pained response, if it weren't for earlier in the morning.

The early morning had come and Haruka never did fall asleep, as the word he had heard all night rung in his ear for what seemed like indefinitely.

Seraphim.

Eventually, it did stop, though. Around seven in the morning, Haruka found some peace and quiet at last. He laid on his bed, dripping in sweat and tears, finally able to rid himself of the damned name. It was a cursed name he remembered from his youth, but never knew why he was called it. Only one person called him that, and he couldn't even remember their name. Not even who they were.

However, the end to the living nightmare didn't end there. Of course it didn't. Haruka braced himself for another round of name-calling, but instead, he got something different. He heard one word, and heard it only once. The echo of it resounded in the halls of Haruka's head and he couldn't take a second of it.

Betrayal.

The instant he realized what the voice had said, Haruka began to thrash about. He hit walls and threw chairs, running through the house on an unstoppable rampage. The tables were toppled and the dressers were now blanketed in holes on all sides, trinkets and decorations now lay in shambles on the carpeted floor.

An hour passed of this, on and off. By the end of it, Haruka ended up on the floor of his living room, staring at the ceiling fan. His mind was blank and had only a vague memory of what just happened. He felt so guilt-ridden but also so fearful all of a sudden.

Who was going to betray me? What for? Did I betray them before? What should I do about it?

With these questions floating, he remembered something.

Right, gotta text Yukino. Satoshi must've spent the night at the mansion.

"Hey, just woke up. text me when you get this

- Haru"

With that message, Haruka went to the nearly untouched bathroom and took a shower. After the blood on his arms and hands had been washed off and the cuts had been disinfected, he bandaged up his arms and hands, and made some headway into the morning. He didn't want to stay in the house anymore. It was unbelievably lonely this morning.

He wore a yellow and black varsity jacket to go with his bumble-bee striped scarf and dark jeans. Covers up the arms and he can just keep his hands in his pockets. Nobody will worry, and the day will progress as usual.

He grabbed Vortimer and the Gold Paladins, and went out to the forest for some fresh air.

And with that, we now find Haruka rubbing his now awfully sore arm.

"Ughh... I need some coffee."

In the silence of the sincere forests Hikaru wearing a dark blue coat and carrying a bag as he silently walks to one of his many bunkers hidden under the tall trees. Closing in on to the forest bunker. He then moves the large boulder aside as he walks inside the cave. Inside the cave was a dusty mat, a sleeping bag, a wobbly desk and chair that was on the right side of the cave, as well as some of the other things he left in this bunkers.

"If there's one thing that those crooks had taught me, its the many bases they set up all around the city. Its been a week since i've last been here." He proceeds to drop the bag on the ground and sets up his sleeping bag.

Wandering in his fury, Cero found himself in a forest.  Realizing he was likely alone here, he stopped trying to hold in his emotions and let loose, punching a nearby tree repeatedly.  That woman...  Whatever her name was...  Insulted him.  She didn't acknowledge strength.  She mocked his ability  She riled him up, and he fell for it.  Cero continued punching the tree, despite the blood now dripping from his knuckles.  That woman held back against him!  He could accept defeat in most cases, defeat was just part of the journey to become stronger...  But THIS!?  Losing to someone who mocked and embarrassed him so!?  Falling to his knees, Cero almost started crying.  He thought he had become powerful...  He thought he had surpassed everything...  He thought that he now had the strength he had been after so long...  But he didn't.  He was still weak now, like he was before.  Cero took out his deck, staring at it.  Why?  Why was he weak again?  There was no way he'd find the answer just sitting here, but his pride was shattered from what had just happened.  With no drive left, he simply sat there in the middle of the forest, wondering.

In the end, she ended up in the forest. She didn't really register how she made it there, she hadn't been paying attention. Walking through the forest again brought back memories of a few days ago, the walk with Hana. She continued walking, with no real set goal in mind, just walking to keep her thoughts flowing.

After walking for a while, she heard a small sound. Wondering what it was, she headed over. When she got there, she saw that a tree had a bit of blood on it, and it was just a bird pecking away at the blood. 'Slightly strange' she thought. 'Where did the blood come from?'. She almost missed the man sitting in the forest. 'Whoa' she accidently shouted, unable to hide her suprise. She jumped back for a second, but moved closer again. Having a closer look, she realised it was Cero the King, although he looked different from what she remembered. Miyuki had seen him briefly the day before, challenging Yukino before she passed out.

Still, something was definely up. There were tears on his face, and blood on his hands. His eyes looked a lot like eyes she had seen previously, looking full of despair. 'Are you alright?' was all she said, waiting to see his response.

"So the brats actually joined the alliance faction? Ha! I would've expected them to keep moaning", Yunos communicated with Yugure in his spirit form. They were taking a stroll, as the manor began to feel suffocating with how all the servants kept pestering the young mistress. Having Blaster Dark back put her in a better mood, especially with seeing him being himself. Which was rude and sarcastic, with a hint of care. Unfortunately, the other Gold Paladins could only see him in battle. Ezel and Garmore were able to speak to him normally only because of their connection with the queen.

"You would've been just like them if it wasn't for me", Yukino replied. The swordsman chuckled.

"Ha, maybe. I wasn't all too much for aligning myself back with the prim and proper until I got to you. Honestly, I'm still not, but I don't much care to see the United Sanctuary in pieces."

Shadow Paladin may have been terrorists, but it was Phantom Blaster Dragon who drove them to near-mindless destruction. Now, they simply reside as the Sanctuary's darkness... or would've liked to before the War of Liberation.

"So everyone on Earth except those connected to Cray forgot the four missing clans existed... And it's because that little brat showed up after everything was done and over with."

"Yes."

"Tch. Always something or another, and she hauled your ass twice now. So you think failure's your new destiny?"

"..."

"I'm not going to lecture you, because if a couple of words could fix your attitude, I'm sure your buddies would've done so already. Including Ezel, that fiery asshole. Or at least Garmore."

"Yunos..."

"Yami- Yugure. I'm going to stay by your side as I can for now while we figure out how to wake Ahmes' sorry ass up. In the meantime, remember that the sword of resolution is in your hands because it's supposed to be and it wants to be. The Sword of Courage will come to you all the same."

With that, the spirit vanished. Yugure was left alone, looking down at her feet. Sad, but thought-filled. Her eyes opened, however, when hearing a sound of collision with a tree. The queen went to see what it was, and it happened to be a fallen king and Miyuki. Garmore looked upon his king with sorrow, but it was fleeting, seeing as he'd have to accept Cero's deck change eventually. Ezel placed a hand of the wolf's shoulder, and nodded. Wolf boy nodded afterward.

Cero barely registered someone had approached him.  His head turned towards the voice, but he simply went back to staring at his deck without answering Miyuki's question.  Did he even deserve to call Vermillion his 'Avatar' after this?  Not only had he lost, his determination was weakening, his drive to become the strongest wavering...  Cero slammed his fist into the ground.  This wasn't who he was.  This wasn't what he had trained to become...  A crying mess on the ground in the middle of the woods...  But what else could he do?  Everything about him and just been blown away by one woman.  His deck slipped from his hands, leaving Cero staring at the ground in defeat.

He didn't reply. Perhaps he hadn't heard her, or he just chose to ignore her. In the end he seemed to slip further into despair, dropping his deck and punching the ground. He was indeed a mess, a shadow of his former self. For some reason, she felt the urge to look through his deck. She did so, and saw the card 'Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion'. 'Him again?' she thought, puzzled. 'Neo uses this card as well, and this card seemed to resemble another card. Dragonic Overlord. Why would Cero have him?' She shrugged, considering her options.

Cero was obviously quite down, some event must have happened to him. She could ask him what happened, or perhaps ask for a fight. The idea of a fight could end badly though. If she lost to him, he might regard the victory as hollow, and if she won he might lose hope again. Either choice just felt bad to her. However, something insider Miyuki told her to offer him a fight. Just before she was about to open her mouth, she noticed Yukino standing nearby. 'When did she get here?' Miyuki was about to go over to Yukino, but she stopped. Yukino was quite possibly still down from what happened before, she didn't want to push her. Added to that, if she couldn't even try to help this man on her own, how on earth would she manage to support Hana?

'Hey, Cero the King was it?' she called out. Crouching down to try and get his attention, she continued. 'You are a vanguard fighter right?' Trying to put emphasis on her words, and using a slightly harsher tone felt weird, but she put up with it.

She offered him his deck. 'If you have time to be moping around, how about a fight? Just sitting around won't solve much, and it wouldn't hurt to have a fight would it?' She had no idea why she was doing this, perhaps it was merely the fact that she'd seen one too many people sitting around like this, wallowing in despair.

Cero looked up at the person offering him his deck.  It was the girl from the ramen shop months ago.  He didn't offer a verbal response to the challenge, only nodding and taking his deck back.  Cero stood up, still barely paying attention.

Neo was walking home from the construction site and was passing through the forest. He noticed a cardfight going on so he decided to go inspect it. And thats when he noticed it:

"Another person using Narukami!" Neo said

Neo decided to watch the cardfight from a distance to see if he can find out anything.

The man had seemed completly broken. His fight in general lacked spirit, even Vermillion hadn't come to him. To try and speak to him, she questioned him. Told him that the strong don't stop for anything, that they move past defeat. She didn't know where she got those words from, she just went with it. These seemed to reach him however, as he responded with a Limit Break. Even after Farah's trick, he would not give in. His avatar came back to him in a resounding flash, and unleashed his power. Truly showing off his spirit, even when faced with almost certain defeat, he didn't back down. As he took the 6th damage, it was a heal trigger, stating his resolve. Roaring back, he used his avatar to once again claim victory.

Hoping that this helped him, she bowed, asking if she enjoyed the performance. As long as it did, she was happy. She felt drained, but it was still a good feeling. She noticed Neo had arrived, and nodded to him slightly.

Neo then decided to stick around walking around the forest to see if anyone else was around.

Jealousy.

Yugure saw Cero's spirit return in no time. Ridiculous and unfair, while she still wallows in misery. Keeping quiet, the queen slipped away without giving them any hint of her presence if at all possible. Miyuki already saw her, but maybe she'd forget or just ignore it. The envy that connected her with Yunos was still strong, but they lacked the courage to face the power of people they yearned to have.

Still down, her phone buzzed. It was from Satoshi. The triad was supposed to go to the park today, but she completely lost the mood. ... No, more like never had it.

"In the woods."

Was her short response. Leaning back against a tree, the woman sighed, holding her face again.

Garmore sighed too. There was no place for him in Cero's spirit to share with Vermillion.

Ezel and Yunos sighed as well, these sadsacks are downers.

The forest, as it turned out, wasn't too far from the beach. Having put on a shirt, but still wearing his swim trunks, Satoshi stepped through the woods, remembering it was the place where he went to PSY Shop a long time ago. He sent another text:

Nothing really happened today. I actually beat Neu, but her decks that use the sealed clans are strange. From what I can tell, they all have units with Limit Break. When I played against "your Royals," for example, Neu had this guy called White Dragon Knight, Pendragon. Today, she used "Haruka's Kagero," and it had these other cards in it, Dragonic Lawkeeper and Cross Shot, Garp.

I'm not sure why, but the fact that she's been able to somehow take the clans and make them break their limits, even though they're sealed, is worrisome. It's like the Rift gave her the ability to manipulate the clans without having a real connection to any of them.

I hope everything's going alright on your end, I'll see you in a few minu---

Satoshi's text abruptly ended and sent as he walked smack into the tree Yukino was leaning on.

"O-ow..."

The fight was significantly closer than any, and for once since his return, Cero's victory didn't feel empty.  He was able to use his Garuda/Saishin combo on his second turn to retire Miyuki's starter, which she responded to by rushing him on her second turn.  However, Vermillion failed to appear to Cero, forcing him to ride Dungaree.

Miyuki commented on this, saying, "Hmmm, guess you aren't in the right state for him right now."  This comment only made Cero more upset at himself...  She was right.  He didn't deserve Vermillion, not after letting his own determination waver like this...  He hadn't failed yet....  Dungaree attacked to tie up the game, but Miyuki challenged him again, "You're a king right?  You strive to be strong, don't you?"  ...  She hit the nail on the head.  But his desire had been crushed by that woman...  His desire for strength lead him to his defeat...  She continued, "You need to overcome various things in order to be truly strong, don't you?  Slowing down now is just insulting to your initial feelings."  Again, she was right...  If he let himself stop here, there was no point in abandoning Garmore...  There was no point in coming back to Japan, no point in finding Narukami, no point in Cardfighting...  Cero's determination returned.  He'd continue, and he'd become stronger, far stronger than even that woman who dared insult Vanguard!  He activated the Limit Break of Dungaree, and next turn, as if in response to Cero finding his determination, Vermillion appeared.  Cero rode his Avatar, and began his comeback, however he had been pushed to 5 damage, and had barely any cards left in his hand...

"Not yet...  I can't let it end here...  I won't let it end here!!!"  Again, his deck responded to his determination.  A sixth heal appeared, giving Cero one final chance, a chance he took with everything he had, bringing him victory and regaining his pride.  "Thank you, Miyuki," Cero said, actually meaning it.  If she hadn't have helped, Cero might've given up on Vanguard completely.

Satoshi rubbed his head. That certainly hurt more than he was expecting. Still, he gave the standard sort of reply because it was just a bump. "I'm okay..."

He stood up, shaking his head to reorient himself. He looked at his phone, realizing the text sent. Well, it'd be faster if he told her, anyway.

"So...something weird happened today. Neu used Haruka's Kagero." He lowered his eyebrows. "But instead of using Dragonic Overlord...she used a Limit Break unit named Dragonic Lawkeeper. I've never seen it before." He shook his head. "When she used your Royal Paladins, she also had a different unit. Instead of Alfred, she had another Limit Break called White Dragon Knight, Pendragon. It's like, for some reason...she's able to break their limits, even though they're sealed. I'm guessing it's some power the Rift's given her in addition to the ability to control those clans."

He put a hand on Yukino's shouder. "Tell me, you said you faced Shadow Paladins when you fought her before, right? Was there anything unusual in that deck?"

Miyuki sighed slightly, realising that the fight had taken a small toll on her. She felt quite tired again, something she kept experiencing recently. 'Well I guess I should have slept more this morning' she thought. She noticed Yukino and Satoshi talking, and considered moving over there, but decided against that and just leaned against a tree, giving them a nod to show that she had noticed them.

Resisting the urge to close her eyes, she looked around and saw Neo lurking behind a bush. 'Odd' was all she thought, he probably had a reason for doing that. She noted to ask him why he was doing that later, after she'd had a quick pause leaning on this tree. 'I wish tree's were more comfortable though' she thought.

'Sure, I'll be there soon, might take a small while because I'm in the forest right now though~'

With that she got up off the tree, and started walking towards the shopping district, stopping briefly to wave to Yukino, Satoshi and Neo. 'At least walking will also wake me up a bit' she thought, on her way to the exit of the forest.

"Origin Mage, IIdonna", Yukino spoke. "That was the Limit Break of the deck. It's probably not the rift giving them limit breaks, as Ezel explained there's some isolated Royal Paladin who refuse to leave something about a Realm of Gods. And there's some leftover Shadow Paladin following the Mage. This wouldn't explain why the clans are unplayable on Earth, so that itself is probably the Rift's fault."

The droning annoyance in Yugure's voice was more than present, not wanting to talk or think about Neu. Like everything, however, she didn't have a choice. They didn't know Kagero's situation, however. Or even Bermuda Triangle's if Neu got her paws on that too. The queen would like a look into this "realm of the gods" though, as it's something not even Alfred informed his vanguard of. With a sigh, she checked her phone so the message would be noted as read. She didn't even notice Miyuki...

"'Realm of the Gods'?" Satoshi racked his brain, thinking if Seph had said anything about it. Nope, not to his knowledge. Might've been a fable of Cray or something, though.

The annoyance in Yukino's voice was really starting to get to him, though. He wanted to be able to help her, but acting like pushing away wasn't going to get her her avatars back any time soon.

It occurred to him that he never got to tell her about what happened at PSY Shop, so he leaned against the same tree she did. He flipped open his deck box and handed her Muse. "So I never got to tell you or Haruka, but this happened at PSY Shop, before we all went together. She's been pretty useful." He ran his fingers through his hair. "At least lets me keep up with you two."

"Let's you keep up with Neu", Yukino spoke from the other side of the tree. They had all been to Shop PSY and were now armed with weapons for the future... well, were. Satoshi was late on the uptake, and the future soldiers used by the queen and Haruka were gone. Another thing her raging jealousy took note of. Still, it was a weapon that could keep up with them, so it was a weapon that could help in destroying the invading menace.

The queen was quiet, keeping to her racing thoughts of what to do next. She had Yunos back, but now what? She still needs to check up on Hana...

The little sister was shot a text:

"Hey, lil' cutie, where are you right now? You okay?"

Ease into speaking with the princess.

Satoshi sighed. "Listen, before that...I need to apologize to you. I kind of wish Haruka was here too, but..."

He stared out at the trees on his side. "A lot of what's been going on recently, I've felt very detached from, because you two and Hana...all three of you are special. All three of you got to remember what happened two months ago, or at least somewhat. I didn't get that at all until Seph finally told me." He kicked the tree a little with the back of his foot. "I got really jealous of you two because even though I know you're both hurting...you still got gifted with things that let you work towards the future, while I was stuck behind like an old fogey." He frowned, now staring at the ground. "Sometimes I felt like I was wasting both of you guys' time by being around, especially now that you two are a couple. The fact that you two were working together, even through all the pain you're going through...I dunno, I guess it feels like you don't need me."

Satoshi bit his lip. This was hard to say, and yet even so, it had been on his mind for a while. "So I went and met Neu because I wanted to do something relevant for all of us. Find out what's going on, try to understand how the workings of her mind are. Everyone's got something that bothers them. For her...it's not having fun, apparently." He shook his head. "All she ever wanted to do was fight. That's the only thing that excites her, and she's more enthusiastic when she wins than when she loses, even when she says it doesn't matter. She's completely unbearable."

He kicked the ground. "But I still went through with it because I want you guys to have your friends back. I feel guilty that I'm the only one that still has his ties intact. I want to fix everything if I can help it, because the more I see you and Haruka like this, the more I hate myself." He sighed and sat down.

"And that's why I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I'm being a selfish jerk. I know you must hate me right now because I still have everything and you got everything ripped from you. It makes sense if you want nothing to do with me because of that." He closed his eyes. "So if you want me to just not come back to the Manor for a while...just tell me now."

Yugure almost broke her phone, gripping it as tightly as one would need to strangle a man. This must've been some kind of joke. Hate was far too strong a word, but extreme irritation would best describe what she felt. He gets to keep everything, she lost everything for doing absolutely nothing but try to make things right. All things about Neu's personality - motives, they all pissed her off! She didn't care, that woman took her precious Royals and Shadows - Ahmes and Yunos - for little reason! Grinding teeth, Yukino almost exploded. ... It took a few seconds to calm down though, none of this was Satoshi's fault. He was only trying to keep up and do what he thought was right.

Though it was still infuriating, she didn't yell.

"You don't have anything to apologize for, dork", the woman began. "You haven't been selfish nor a jerk."

Short, yet true were the words of the emotionally challenged queen.

"You can come to the manor whenever you want. Let's go meet with Hana and Miyuki."

Satoshi shrugged. That still wasn't the vibe he was getting from Yukino, but it was her choice to not lash out and still have him around. In the meantime, it did seem like a good idea to meet up with Hana and Miyuki.

"Yeah, let's go, then..." He started walking in the direction of town, assuming she wanted to walk by herself.

There was quite a lot on Cero's mind.  Although his drive and determination had returned, he still knew he lacked the strength to prove that woman wrong.  She believed anyone who didn't play Vanguard for fun was wrong, and mocked those that desired strength...  There was no issue playing for your own entertainment, but what she did was simply infuriating.  Cero needed more strength....  The strength to defeat the woman and show her what his Vanguard truly was...  He walked though the forest, the place where his drive had been re-ignited, in hopes it would help calm his mind...  Another issue he had was that of a new rival.  Rivals were what gave him excitement, what made Vanguard "fun" to him, and lacking any made it empty.  Who could he select as his new rival?  Far too few people had the strength to actually match the King.  Jellal, perhaps?  ....  If he could find him.  They hadn't met at all outside of the semi-finals in nationals.  So if not him, who?

After escaping the clutches of the Espoir Household, and getting several pictures taken by the staff, Haruka and Yukino make their way to the restaurant near the forest.

It was a bit more than Haruka expected himself. There were fancy chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling and candlelit tables everywhere and the finest cuisine Haruka had ever seen. They got in to be greeted by a host immediately. Once notifying them of the reservation, they were given a seat farther off towards a large window with a view of the area.

Lovely.

As they were seated, they were given a good bit of time to decide on their orders.

"So, Yukino... What're you thinking of having?"

Yeah, good one Haruka... Man up already!

Haruka was giving all of his attention to Yukino, but at the same time he had to bolster courage to spit out those three little words. This was the ultimate challenge.
Title: Re: (GS3) Field: Forest
Post by: Cherry on August 26, 2015, 03:06:18 AM
Yukino hid it, but good lord did trying to leave home annoy the hell out of her. It took the girl yanking on Haruka's shoulder and abruptly giving everyone a farewell as they rudely ran out the door. The speed of which she bolted was a surprising feat given she was in heels. At least they were out of there... and after that, the gentleman led his date to a rather... fancy looking eatery. Seeing these weren't all that shocking or awe-inspiring, but... her concerns were more directed toward his wallet. He already had repair bills back at his place, could he even afford this? The queen would offer to pay, but that'd probably just put a heavy dent in his pride. Dad always said the man pays for dinner.

Still... the hint of awe Haruka was holding back was easy to see. Was this gonna be okay?

Then she heard about the reservation. Oh, he must've dipped into something, this was just too good to believe considering his social status.

When seated and handed menus, Yugure sort of tensed up. Appetite didn't return with lighter moods, yet, it'd be bad if she didn't eat much of anything... Even if she ordered a lot, if she didn't eat it, her crush here would just be left disappointed.

"Something with... eggs... probably", Hana had Yukino witness so many constructs with egg as the main ingredient, she sort of had a craving for them.
Title: Re: (GS3) Field: Forest

"Eggs?" Haruka wasn't particularly sure why that confused him. But it did.

"That's fine I suppose. I'll probably do the spiral sliced ham and turkey."

If Haruka couldn't have sweets, protein was next on the list.

He sort of fidgeted in his seat. Something felt off, but couldn't a finger on it. He dismissed the thought, assuming he maybe just forgot something small to bring. Enjoying the night was the best he could do.

Haruka reached across the table to grab Yukino's hand.

"I'm really glad you went out with me tonight. It, well, it means a lot."

Haruka opens his mouth to speak but it comes out a bit shaky.

"I, uh, well..."

He was freezing up a bit. The words he was trying to say were failing to escape his mouth. His heart hurt a little knowing he'd be unable to confess properly.

If you can't say it, then show it.

Sera suggested perhaps the most cliché method of doing this. And he was probably right.

He would have to wait for an opportune time to do it though. It was hard to put his lips on her from across a table.

"Ah, sorry. Lost my train of thought." Haruka tried to go with it. He was already quite anxious as it was.

During his walk, Cero realized he was starving...  He had been neglecting his eating in search of rivals, just like he had two months ago.  Remembering a restaurant he had heard about nearby, Cero decided it'd be in his best interest to eat there.  The walk was fairly short, but the uphill climb only made Cero hungrier...  When he entered, he noticed it was far more ornate than he had initially expected.  Everything was pristine, spotless, with a number of chandeliers and candelabras beyond what could be considered a practical limit.  Pillars adorned the walls, carved with ornate golden designs....  And then he noticed...  Them.  Yukino and...  Someone he presumed to be her boyfriend, which was rather odd since the man looked a few years younger than Yukino, and couldn't be much older than Cero himself.

A host approached Cero, asking the usual questions a host would ask.  Cero responded far quieter than his usual self, actually having the manners to not disturb those currently dining.  When he said the table was for one, several people gave him rather odd looks, though Cero took no notice to them.  He requested the finest tea they had available, and when it was brought to him, they asked for his order.

"I'll take this, this, some of this, as well as this item, and this...."  Cero continued, pointing to various items whose name's he was simply to lazy to pronounce despite several of them being derived from French, his native tongue.  All in all, he ordered enough to make up approximately five full course meals.  "Also, if I receive my food before anyone else who doesn't have their food within the next ten minutes, I will tip all of the chefs and waiters that bring it out 30 000 yen each," Cero told the waiter taking his order.  The waiter, absolutely shocked at the wealth of this man, took off to the kitchen to inform the chefs of this insane foreigner's request.

Yukino's surveying of the menu was halted when Haruka took her hand, and her full attention darted straight to him. She stayed quiet, getting an idea of what he wanted to say, and would rather him come out first. There was no particular reason, the woman simply wanted to hear the three words exactly from his mouth, not tacked with a "too". Yet, he was stumbling on his nerves, and it made her giggle. Finding his fumbling nature adorable, words of calm were offered: "Relax a little, Haruka. I'm glad you brought me here too. More importantly, I'm glad you're here with me."

Nothing on the menu really stood out, so that was bad. Body language would be betraying words if she didn't pick something out...

"Transforming Furikake Gohan?"

Of course, she picks out one of the most expensive things on the menu.

However, Cero's arrival caught her off guard. While she was going to put it off and focus on their date... well, he flaunted his money to get his food before anyone else. Of course, the king was still ruder than rude. Whatever bothered him enough to punch a tree days ago was gone, clearly. The queen was irritated now.

Haruka did as he was told. He relaxed. The problem lies in that he was already a bit upset it took so long to get here, plus the problem he had with speaking, all tacked onto the worst possible mix of emotions.

Love and anxiousness.

At this rate, Haruka was going to panic attack before the order got to the table.

"Right. I'm sorry. Its just a lot of stuff running through my head is all." He loosens the grip on Yukino's hand a little, trying to ease up. His usual bubbly demeanor was surfacing, but it was difficult to keep up in such a high class facility. For him, at least.

He noticed Yukino looked a bit irritated.

"What's wrong, Yuki?" He felt sudden nervous pangs run through him. Maybe she didn't want to do all this? If she was so upset, maybe it was too late?

Can I panic yet?

"That asshole..." Yukino answered, looking off in the distance without turning. If it didn't mean leaving Haruka, she'd go knock Cero's lights out. Letting out an annoyed sigh, she looked back at Haruka. Apparently, telling him to relax a little did absolutely nothing. In fact, she was now hoping he wasn't twice as nervous as before. The queen wanted him to break his own ice with some of his goofy, fumbling self to help him ease into the date. It was difficult if she couldn't fix whatever was intimidating him.

"Don't worry... and don't apologize either. You're fine."

"Er, right..."

This was all just turning on its head. The waiters for the order hadn't shown up, Yukino was pissed off at something, and Haruka felt his stomach do backflips at record speed.

"I-I, uh, er, crap." He scratches his head trying to figure out what to say here.

"Something has your attention, I think. Wanna talk about it?" His mind was focused on making tonight extra special, but things were just.

Not.

"... Uh, erm.." Haruka coughs, tripping over what he was going to say.

"Yukino. I, uh, had something I wanted to tell you. For, er, at least a month or so now."

The tension in his chest is almost bursting.

Now or never.

When he initially saw his old Rival's expression of irritation, Cero believe his plan had worked.  However, she chose to focus on her date instead of taking up Cero's challenge, something that came as a bit of a surprise.  The Yukino he knew would've walked straight up to him and taken his challenge, yet now she simply attempted to ignore it.  Sighing, Cero stood up, deciding he'd figure out what brought these changes to his rival.  He walked up to their table, took out his deck and slammed it onto the table.

Returning to his usual self, Cero shouted his challenge, "I, Cero Kirguis, Europe's King of Vanguard, challenge you to a cardfight, Yukino Hikari Espoir!"  Cero's eyes were practically brimming with energy, desiring to bring his old rival back.  The one who on multiple occasions provided him with cardfights more intense than any others.  Cero then slid his deck  over to Yukino, continuing, "However we won't be using our own decks.  We'll each be using the other's deck!"

You know... Yukino was depressed for a good while now. Her emotions have been bottled in, unwilling to give them out. A spiky shield over her heart, in order to focus on others, while not paying any mind to her own happiness or needs to live. ... So long... and now, while she's finding joy again, this guy crashes everything. Without hesitation after Cero approached them, her leg shot upward, heel meeting Cero's face. It was hard enough to launch the ignorant, rude king into the air.

"You... asshole! Interrupting our perfect evening with your thirst for this stupid, stupid game! Haruka, give me my deck!"

Internally, Yukino felt bad about turning her efforts into stomping the king. Haruka looked like he had something to say too... Though, so did she. And Yukino wanted the entirety of her heart focused on him for when she would speak it. This would be simply clearing the air, and getting their food. Maybe some of their money back for Cero's messing with her date intentionally. Though, reluctant to hand her Gold Paladin to someone else, it was to get back to her beloved as soon as possible. This genuinely surprised Ezel, seeing as she felt better with him around.

The lion was beginning to grasp how much she actually loved that bumbling idiot of Vortimer's Vanguard.

Tossing her deck case, she took Cero's Narukami.

"And it's not Hikari anymore, it's Yugure!"

The kick from Yukino sent Cero flying, causing him to land straight on the table of a married couple behind them, breaking the table, and ruining all of their food (Along with Cero's jacket).  It was an impact like that probably would've knocked most people out, but Cero simply stood back up, quite injured, but fully capable of cardfighting.  He smirked, knowing that the rival he once knew had returned at least for now.

The fight progressed fairly smoothly for Cero.  Although an early critical on "Yugure's" side caused him to be at a disadvantage in the early game, it didn't take long for Cero to take control of the game.  However, one odd occurrence happened to Cero during the fight.  While saying the chant he used for Garmore, instead of saying Great Silver Wolf Garmore, he almost accidentally said Fang of Light Garmore...  The rest of the fight was fairly normal, however.  Cero got triggers off of his top-deck Superior Calls, but that didn't stop him from keeping control of the game, and eventually winning it.

Cero grunted, unimpressed at his once-rival.  "You lack the resolve to face your problems you once had," and with this, Cero turned around back to his table, completely forgetting about the table of the couple he had just landed on and the food covering the back of his coat.  "If you can't get back what you've lost on your own, I'll be willing to lend a hand.  I still need a rival," Cero said as he walked away.

Yugure wasn't exactly synchronized with Narukami, so the fight quickly got out of hand for her. Especially with the trash called Divine Seal Dragon, Dungaree, who kept popping up in hand when she didn't want it. She wasn't focused on the fight in general, clearly. More of just a violent desire to beat Cero's face in. Garmore was happy to work with his previous Vanguard again, even if it was for a short time. Ezel, however, refused to cooperate. He even purposefully blotched up his Limit Break by calling Flame of Victory.

The fight ended in Cero's favor due to a mass of Grade Threes swarming to the queen's hand, something that happened often. Not a single draw trigger in the midst of the fray either. Regardless, Cero got what he wanted, so she quickly swiped her cards away, stuffing them back in their deck case.

"Now get lost! You've already ruined enough of my evening!" Yukino shouted at Europe's king, ignoring everything he said. She then looked toward the employees and yelled: "And if you idiots don't get our food in the next five minutes, I'm going see to it that this place shuts down, and your faces are mangled!"

Nobody needed to tell them twice. Even with the amount of money Cero gave him, he just got smashed a new one by her heel. With a threat to shut down and do the same to them, they got to work on the queen's order before anything else.

After a breath of relief, she sat down with Haruka. "Sorry about that", she spoke so calmly, as if nothing happened. Flashing a cute smile, she took his hand again. "Now, where were we? You wanted to say something to me?"

After decidedly all was said and done, Haruka had pretty much given up. The evening had been lots of pressure from the beginning. Not only did it take a millennia to get to the dinner, but Haruka had instantly been cast aside when that one loudmouth showed up.

"Huh.. ? Oh, the fight is over."

Haruka was once again in contact with Yukino, but he could tell his expression didn't match the inside. He was smiling that she was back. But he was just downright alone at the moment.

"I, oh... Yeah." He was still smiling. And at this point he didn't have any other masks. A smile was all he had to offer when he nouthed the words.

"I-I love you.", but audibly it was nothing more than a faint whisper. He couldn't be anymore honest. The problem is that melancholic smile is the only thing he can give her right now.

But he isn't lying either. He won't scowl at her, he won't sulk of pout or sneer in the face of Yukino. He couldn't.

So he smiled like normal. He gripped her hand. And then let the smile fall. He finally looked her in the eyes.

"I love you, Yukino." He spoke it this time. The first time was confirmation for himself, the second was for her to hear and to know.

Yukino froze, hearing him the first time. The second time, the actual flow of time was restored for her perceptive. The queen proceeded to write a quick little note for the waiters, saying they'd be right back. While the food was preparing, she stood up, took her beloved's hand, and led him out of the restaurant. Moonlight shining down from above on the pair, they got to a spot with a good view of it. Where they'd bask in the light, a place for this to be solidified - this moment. In the silence of the night, she pushed herself toward Haruka, embracing him tightly. Then, finally meeting his lips with hers for as long as she could hold.

"I love you too."

He felt the rush of summer wind outside. Everything from the moonlight to the breeze and all, it felt way too surreal. Yukino had led Haruka out of the restaurant, after his confession. It was weird to think not only did he say it out loud, but also to the person he meant it for.

She didn't hesitate, not even for a second. Her arms linked around Haruka as she pressed her lips to his.

Haruka would never admit it, but he wouldn't mind if time had stood still in that set of moments. Those several seconds, what felt like even less so.

She said it back.

"I love you too."

With that, there was no way Haruka couldn't instantly break into a smile. A genuine one. The kind he had when he had coffee at the Espoir House, or when he ate sea-salt ice cream on the beach, or when he stared at stars on the park bench.

It was that sort of smile.

He wanted to savor every second of it.

Miyuki wasn't sure how long she'd been sitting there exactly. Her sense of time had been skewed, and it felt like her brain had stopped working. All she could do was sit there, and remind herself that Hana was gone. That it was something that she might have been able to prevent, but didn't. She tried to collect herself several times, to calm herself down, but it didn't work. The most she was able to do was prevent herself from completely breaking down and crying, but it was close.

In her head, part of her was still trying to encourage her. 'Giving up won't solve anything. Nothing will change if you act like this'. But she couldn't bring herself to listen to those words. The feeling of failure kept hammering into her, she could picture Hana just vanishing in her mind, tears streaking down her eyes. She just lay there, against a tree, trying not to cry. Voices in her head cried out in protest, but she was too far gone to listen to them.

After realizing there was no point in being at the beach, Cero decided to walk through the woods yet again...  There was no real reason for him to stay in Japan until his building was completed at this point.  He'd never be able to get stronger if things kept going on like this, which just made him infuriated...  Deciding that now was the time to return to Europe, he set out for the airport.  However, as soon as he came to this decision, he noticed someone leaning against a tree...  Miyuki, broken.  Just like he had been.  Cero sighed, realizing he couldn't return to Europe just yet.  First, he'd repay this debt...  Next, he'd bring back his old rival.

Cero walked up to Miyuki, and said two simple words: "Stand up."

Miyuki wasn't sure exactly how long she'd been there. It had gotten dark, and colder, but she couldn't tell the exact length of time. She could see someone standing far away. Or perhaps they were close by, she couldn't quite tell. She glanced at them blankly, and vaguely recognised it to be Cero. 'Oh yeah he broke down here a few days ago'. The thought ran through her head, and then vanished again, like all her thoughts right now.

'Stand up.' She heard those words from him. 'Um what' ran through her head. Was this some kind of pity thing? Or maybe he was trying to repay her for the other day. Not that she had even done much the other day. Still, why would she stand up? It was more comfortable to lean against the tree, not that it mattered. Her vision was starting to blur anyway. It seemed like just staying in the forest for hours, without any warm clothing wasn't the best thing for one's health.

In the end, all she got out was one word. 'Why?' That was all she said, as she continued to lean against the tree.

"To just sit there is to accept failure.  I don't know what caused this, nor does it matter.  What matters is that you Stand Up, here and now, in the face of adversity.  No matter what the obstacle, no matter what the loss, no matter what the problem, Stand Up against it," Cero shouted, offering Miyuki his hand to help her up.  "If you can't Stand Up, you have no right to call yourself a Vanguard fighter!  Stand Up because that's what a Vanguard Fighter does!  Even when all Hope has abandoned you, don't abandon yourself.  Call out with your Soul, and don't give up!  Even if the Damage seems irreversible, a miracle can be Triggered!  If you've lost something, you can't find it by Resting, you have to Seek it for yourself!  To let yourself slow down...  Well, that would just be an insult to your feelings up to now, wouldn't it?  Now tell me, are you just going to continue sitting there?"

'I don't even' was all she thought. Whilst it was nice of him to try and help her, her problem was not vanguard related. Well not directly at least. Although it would probably still cause her pain or guilt to play it anyway. In the end, she knew she couldn't accept it. As possibly inspirational as the speech was meant to be, it didn't help with her problem.

'Although, I'll admit that staying here too much longer would be a problem' she thought. Her vision had been blurring a minute ago, and she felt slightly dizzy. In the end, she took the offered hand, but not in the way he probably intended it. 'I'm sorry, but vanguard is not the problem. Thank you for trying to help anyway.' She said that as best she could, trying to hide how she felt. With that she turned away, to walk back to the city. Perhaps she was being weak, but it was all she could do right now.

"I see," was all Cero managed to say as he watched Miyuki return to the city.  He turned away, frustrated with himself that he was unable to repay his debt...  If the problem wasn't Vanguard-related, he realized he couldn't help...  Despite his belief in using his strength to inspire others, he failed to bring someone out of despair.  Had he really gained anything since two months ago, or was it all just some false belief in himself?  No, he couldn't question himself now...  He had to continue...  Even if he had failed this time, he wouldn't fail again.  Well, if he was capable of understanding others, he wouldn't fail again, a talent Cero was quite lacking in.

Sitting cross-legged in a small clearing of the woods, the amalgamation of champion and spirit, Satoshirot, meditated. This had become a common practice to clear up thoughts and have revelations as one entity while they were separate. Today's subject was, of course, the previous day, which, out of rage, combined them together, at least for the time being.

That didn't last long, as Sephirot's being disconnected itself from Satoshi to give him room to breathe. As an entity, they were quite powerful together, but it wasn't good for the body to have two souls inhabiting it. Taking a deep breath of relief, the farmboy wiped sweat from his forehead. "Warn me next time you're going to do that..."

Seph chucked, but nodded. "My mistake, I assumed we shared the same harsh emotional response to Yugure's capture."

"Right...about that..." Satoshi had been doing some thinking, and while he was still very upset with Neu's choices and how every step of the way, no matter what she said, she seemed to be pulling wool over their eyes, it occurred to him that there was a fairly good chance that Yukino was, in fact, fine. Even though Neu had hurt her before the Triad, the Lion, and her collective group of friends, there was a chance that being pulled into the Rift was important. Maybe even healthy for Yukino to understand her path better. Sure, she didn't have to be the Chosen Sword. But who said that the Chosen Sword was an object? If anything, they proved that the Sword was quite human.

He shook his head. "As much as I want to shake that girl by her shoulders and ask her why the hell she keeps doing stuff like this, I think there's a possibility we could be assuming way too much of Neu Edelweiss."

Seph raised an eyebrow. "But was it not clear what she was doing in order to---"

"She's testing Yukino because she lost her way." Satoshi blinked his calm eyes. "If anything, she's helping us help our friend, even if it feels like she's got bad approaches to her intentions all the same."

Seph shrugged. "So you want to potentially forgive her, after all of that?"

"Well, I wouldn't say 'forgive...'" Satoshi stood up carefully, making sure he had full control of his body again. "I'd say more along the lines of 'try to understand.'" As much as he had thought it over, he hadn't really given Neu the chance to show off the fun that her Vanguard was. Mostly because she seemed so bored and disinterested in the game despite praising it.

Seph sighed, then nodded with a small smile. "Enemy or not, she still deserves to speak her mind."

The farmboy nodded and gave a bit of a grin. "Let's go get something to eat, yeah? I'm starvin'."

When Haruki said, Shadow Paladin, Shin'en's heart sunk. He didnt know why, but it did. He then remember what he overheard in the constructionn site....

Hmmm.

This wasn't the answer had expected to hear from the honest and brash Neo. However, it must've been the right one, considering it was from the honest and brash Neo.

"Right then. Okay, time to get to the question at hand."

Haruka extends his arm for a shake, with a smile fit for kings. "Neo, I want to enlist you to help take down the forces of the Rift, and bring back the locked clans. What do you say?"

Enlisting him meant training with him and making sure he was prepared at all costs for whatever battles he may face. This also meant he needed to learn more about Neu himself, since Haruka has actually never met Neu before. It wasn't like joining the military or anything, but it did mean he would have to start sharing more information. However with Neo, somebody who met the girl, he has a real chance at discovering things he didn't know before.

He turns to Haruki and says, " Do you know anything about these legend clans? or where Neu got these clans from?"

Haruki was surprised at how many people actually knew about sealed clans, even Kurai and Noah. The young man of justice felt that there were strange conflicts arising from this topic, and spoke in a way that would let Kurai not get into the arguments like these other people.

"The sealed clans are pretty cool. I think there's a way that these can become available to all players too, but we just have to make sure there's an overall peace in Vanguard. Just keep up with the fun fights and we might be able to see these in action." He gave a smile and hoped Kurai would side with him.

Accompanied by a new feeling of strength Tsubasa makes his way to the forest, a place he had not quite had the chance to explore recently, he hopes to find some cardfighters so that he can test the new strength that he got back from Neu in their last cardfight.

He takes out his deck as it begins to pulse within his hand in a faint glow, "..The cards are still the same so then, what is happening..?" he thought.

On his way he sees Haruki standing with someone in the middle of the forest, "...Haruki and....I feel like i've met this person...heh can't hurt to say hi." he thought.

"Haruki! it's good to see you man." he said, waving his hand at Haruki.

After he made an attempt at explaining things to Kurai, Haruki heard someone call out his name from afar. As he looked into the distance, the young man of justice saw his friend Tsubasa was the one calling out to him. He waved to the guy in return and called out to say hello back.

"Hey Tsubasa! How's it been?"

Kurai decided that this new appearance, he vanished into the shadows, ditching the two and heading towards the airport, preparing for his flight to New York, for the World Curiitt.

When Tsubasa goes to talk with Haruki the strange man leaves and dashes out of the forest, it seems like he was in a hurry. Nevertheless Tsubasa can't help but feel like he's seen him before...

"I've been doing well so far Haruki, things are beginning to improve gradually for me, how about you?" he asked. "Have you applied for the World Circuit?"

While walking through the forest, Neo noticed Kurai running out the forest.

"Wonder why hes in a rush" Neo said to himself

He then noticed Haruki and Tsubasa in the distance.

"Hey guys" Neo said

"Hey Neo," Haruki called to his other friend as he walked over. He was surprised when Kurai was nowhere to be found as he turned back, but then he turned to Tsubasa.

"Things are going great. Neo and I are set for the World Circuit, and I assume we'll see you there too. This forest is a kind of unusual place to hang out, so why don't we head to the park close by?" Haruki gestured to the direction of the park.

Neu decided on the famous restaurant that stood right outside of the forest. It had a nice view, especially at night. She stood up from her wheelchair and slowly walked to the seat that was assigned to them by the waiter. It took her some time go get ready, but she was able to pick from her own selection of clothes this time, picking one of the black dressed that she wore a year ago, its been awhile. She sat down on her seat and relxed, Tsubasa had pushed her on the wheelchair all the way here, it was a pleasant journey to say the least.

"Hurry up Tsubakaaaa," she yelled inviting him to his seat as she waved her hand to call him over.

Neu chose a restaurant near the forest for her date with Tsubasa, they had just arrived both dressed in casual wear, Tsubasa wore his usual black jacket with blue jeans along with a grey shirt under the jacket. Nothing special, but Neu on the other hand was wearing a black dress, and since Tsubasa liked the colour black he had no objections at all.

At that moment Tsubasa got a message from his friend Seifer, "You busy?"
Tsubasa immediately replied back while Neu got off her chair and headed towards the table, "Sorry man, kinda busy at the moment."

He then heard Neu call him over to the table so he went in that direction, "..You look beautiful.." he said, smiling slightly.

Usually in things like this, the two figures in the situation would either sit across from one another or next to each other. Neu didn't mind the latter. Now that she got some of her strength back, maybe she can make him panic for a change, of course this would mean she would have to play along pretty well and keep her cool. Its been a year since she's last played the game of flattery, but she is confident that she can keep up well. She moved his chair closed to hers and gestured him to come sit down there.

"You always say that, but hey, you don't look bad yourself." She nodded and gave him a grin as she extended a hand for him to hold as he sat down.

Neu essentially invited Tsubasa to sit next to her, to him she was acting more confident, flattering him with words of admiration regarding his look, which he admittedly liked since it was coming from her.

"Oh, Thank you." he said, taking her hand as he sat next to her, except this time he made his fingers intertwine with hers. He's always wanted to hold her hand that way.

"You feeling comfortable, beautiful?" he said, his hand still locked in hers as they both were seated next to each other. This time he felt that question come out of his mouth unwillingly as if forced out of his mouth by the beauty of the figure next to him.

Neu had been on numerous dates before in her time, but no one has ever really interested her enough for her to actually enjoy the time spent together. More or less, she would just go through the motions and play along. Each time, it would just be someone new, and the guy would come and go. No one had ever interested her enough to ever actually have her respond to them in a genuine manner. Actually, it was more that she was never really allowed to actually react and interact with other guys all that much. Growing up, her life was basically Vanguard. She wasn't allowed to learn of relationships in general. No friends either, since even family distanced themselves from her to ensure that all her time was spend on Vanguard. Her ability to sweep men off her feet was all part of getting what her family wanted out of people, it was all just game to her and she hadn't felt much at all, especially since she saw her body as more of a tool to be used for her parent's benefit over anything else.

"I can tell you actually meant that, haha... idiot." She leaned over to him and placed her head on his shoulder, tightening her grasp on his hand, but still keeping it soft. He definitely was in a league above all other men, but she still wasn't sure how she felt about him. She decided to press on and keep playing along, still unsure of her feelings. Most of the time and its nothing, and all she does is a bunch empty flirting for some self-gain, but maybe this time it was different. He made her heart pound, and she felt relaxed near him, it was something new. She placed her other hand on his chest, sliding it across as her head continued to relax on his shoulder.

"I guess I can keep playing along to fit the mood, this is a date after all isn't it?" She moved her head closer to his, her lips near his cheeks."I'm feeling comfortable like this... how do you feel? Is it good? Too much for you?"

Tsubasa was always a calm individual but it would be a lie to say that this woman did not make his heart race. He was surprised and happy by her touch and the moves she was displaying towards him. Tsubasa never really grew attached to other women in general, most of the time he would be asked out on dates and would never really do much as his feelings...were not there for the other person, but this was not the case with Neu. She is the one woman who actually made Tsubasa's feelings spin like a cyclone, nevertheless he decided that if she's ready to go to the next level then he will as well.

Slowly he turned his face towards her, gazing into her eyes, giving off a look of genuine desire and care. With his hold on her hand still soft yet more passionate, he places his free hand gently on her waist pulling her slowly towards him, with their lips getting closer and closer until he sealed it with a gentle kiss, nothing too deep just to leave her wanting more as he pulled away slowly still making sure that the kiss carried his emotions towards her.

"Oh I'm comfortable, the question is...are you?" he said, releasing the hold on her waist as he used his now free hand to run the back of his fingers on her cheeks. "..No one can describe how beautiful you look this evening..Neu Edelweiss."

It was standard for guys to usually do this in response, the would play along even more so and move like a cornered rat to the go-to move in attempt to one-up her play. Neu was always taken in by the fairy tales, where the kiss would be the most meaningful part of most of them, the kiss as an act of "true love." She one day wishes to actually have one, but until then, this one goes among the kisses which she has received that had no meaning. It was foolish to think that a kiss like that would make her flinch even a bit. The duration could be as long as it can be, as numerous as can be given, but unless she actually felt any emotional value behind it flowing between both her and her partner, the effort was meaningless. Its dumb for anyone to think that they could pull a move like that as part of a tease, since the concept of teasing and playing around after all was the act of showing intent to give, but never giving at all. It just reminded her of the amount of gross people her parents tried to sell her to for their own gain. She personally didn't mind the lustful part of the game of love, but there had to be a mutual feeling of romance first, a good control of pace, things could move too quickly. She knew she was beautiful, she's been told numerous times by now, the point has been made.

"I'm fine, and uh... thanks." She took his hands and removed them from her body, placing them both down as she turned and looked at the menu, a look of disappointment was all over her expression and actions. "Maybe it was just a false alarm..." she thought to herself. She looked through the menu as she called the waiter, as she made her order, moving her chair away a little.  "Alright I made my order." Neu sighed and leaned back on her chair, fixing her hair as she relaxed.

Tsubasa felt somewhat saddened In himself at her reaction, he realized that his actions could have been misinterpreted even though his motives were genuine. With a sigh of regret he pulls his menu and begins to read the menu thinking of his order, regardless of how clouded his mind was at that point.

He finally places the menu on the side as he finishes his order, later placing his hand on hers, not as a tease but rather as an act of sincerity, as he utters these few words, "I'm sorry..."

He is then surprised by a grab of his shoulders from the back by a familiar face, it was Fei.

"Well well what do we have hear, last I checked you were not so jumpy around girls Tsubasa." said Fei.
"Very funny Fei...what are you doing here anyway?"
"Hey that's no way to talk to your friend, or is Tsubaka really the right way to say your name?" he said,  with a devilish smile on his face.
"....Exactly how long have you been here...?" asked Tsubasa.
"Long enough my friend, long enough...besides how could I miss the birthday of my best friend?"
".....He serious?" thought Tsubasa. "...How could he possibly remember?"
"Plus I brought the best gift ever, come on out young man!"

A look of disbelief dawned upon Tsubasa's face, Fei knew full well that Tsubasa did not feel ready to face this person, yet he blatantly disregarded that and brought him now of all times.

"Ha...Haruto..." he mumbled, with a look of astonishment on his face.

Despite his apologies she felt that it had gone to a point where it couldn't be really taken back. "If you just wanted me around for how I looked, should've just said so... I know I don't have much of a personality... not my fault I grew up only knowing Vanguard so I would've let you do whatever you want cause I get it..." She turned away as she responded, looking out the restaurant's window, entrancing herself with its beautiful night view of the forest, hoping that the theory of relativity would take over and the time would pass as she offered her perception of time to a blank emptiness run by her train of thought.

A sudden surprise came to her when another person entered the scene, Tsubasa's friend. It caught her attention for a few moments, but she turned away again, disinterested. That was until she heard that it was his birthday today. Neu held birthdays highly and with a special importance, its what reminded her that she was still a person as she grew. They wouldn't be parties or really anything that was remotely close to a celebration, but she appreciated being reminded of her human-ness and that she was born and everything. She hadn't been using her power to keep her info straight and in-check when it came to Tsubasa so she had completely rolled over knowing about his birthday. She was still was quite irked with how quickly he tried to make things move, plus the disappointment that he was just the same as everyone else was also plaguing her mind, but it was his birthday, so she thought about maybe giving him another chance, to stop with the cold shoulder and at the very least. Tsubasa seemed to be surprised as his brother entered into the restaurant as well. Neu still didn't understand family much yet so may as well just go with the flow.

To be so troubled during birthday was unacceptable though and it was partially her fault so turned over to him and poked him a few times on the shoulder and waited for him to turn to her before smiling and saying, "Happy Birthday!" She then turned over to both his friend and brother, "Hello, Fei and Haruto, my name is Neu. Please, join us. Lets celebrate his birthday! Happy birthday Tsubasa!" She happily invited them,

The four took their seat at the table, but no matter how cheerful the three seemed Tsubasa was still disheartened by the situation he was placed in. The guilt from his past immediately weighed itself on him at that very moment, after only a few seconds of some chatting Tsubasa stands from his chair and says,"I need to be excused..." as he makes his way to a nearby window and begins to stare into the night sky, fighting the emotions appearing on his face.

Sensing trouble Fei stood up from his chair apologized to Neu and went over to talk with Tsubasa.
"...What's it gonna take exactly?"
"......................"
"Even on your birthday you can't forgive yourself enough to look at your brother!"
".....You know damn well why I can't do it...you were there." he said.
"..I don't understand..why can't you finally get it? What happened, happened neither you nor your brother should be feeling pain from that day..."
"....You have no idea what it's like.." he said, fighting back the tears.
"...I'm basically doing the same thing all over again...the context may be different but I'm still pushing people away...even the one girl I fell in love with thinks that I love her for the wrong reasons."
"...Maybe if you stopped hiding your emotions and putting up a front then you can make things right, that was the reason you left your house that night..you were afraid to own up to your mistakes nor open up to those closest to you, and as a result you were not there...What's done is done stop placing barriers on you from who you really are." he said, placing his hand on Tsubasa's shoulder.

At that moment the two did not realize that Haruto had made his way to find himself standing behind Tsubasa, with a large smile on his face., it was clear that he heard what they were saying from his seat at the table.
"..Aniki..if you want me to leave I will...I just want you to be happy on your birthday.." said Haruto, as he began to walk away.
Fei looked at Tsubasa's look of disbelief at what his brother said, " ....come on Tsubasa say something..." he thought.

12 years ago Tsubasa left his home after getting into an argument with his parents, he wanted some fresh air for the night before returning. He was struggling to open up and admit his wrongdoings but thanks to some encouragement from his friend Ray that night he eventually chooses to go back but only to witness a tragic even unfold before his eyes, his house burning in flames. Him and and Ray ran into the inferno of the house trying to find his parents or his brother, but they only were able to find Haruto somewhat asleep in his bed while Tsubasa's parents were already too far from saving. Even before they could get out the house began to crumble above their heads, so Ray chose to let himself die for the sake of saving Tsubasa and Haruto's lives, help took way too long to arrive as a result Tsubasa lost both his friend and his parents, now with his brother's actions he was able to see something horrifying.  At that moment Tsubasa immediately saw the same scene that he witnessed back when he was 8 yrs old, the same burning house that took the life of his family while he stood on the outside unable to do much but watch his own life go up in flames, if not for his old friend Ray's sacrifice that night neither Tsubasa nor Haruto would be alive. This time if he does not do anything he would be losing his brother, as if Haruto is walking towards that burning building.

".........................Haruto! Don't go you're all that keeps me alive in this world!" shouted Tsubasa, as tears began to run down his face.
"....Aniki!!" replied Haruto, turning around, with tears dripping from his eyes as well.
"Haruto!" he shouts as he runs to embrace his younger brother after so long, "..I'm not deserving of that title Haruto...but I promise I'll do my best to make it up to you..."
"...Happy Birthday, my brother..." said Haruto as he nodded to what his brother said, while they are both in each other's arms.

This Fei person certainly seemed like a cup large cup noodle of wisdom and everything in between. He can certainly pop out with the right thing to say and seemingly be all that, given some hot water. Tsubasa's friends were interesting to say the least. Neu sat back on her chair, playing with her spoon and fork as she chimed in on the conversations happening around her. The bit about brotherly love got to her. More or less, it at least touched her heart and taught her a thing or two about the value of family. After all, the only time that she ever has cried in years was because of her parents just a year ago. "Are tears as much of a sign of love as kiss given the right time?" she asked herself. Tsubasa and his brother seemed to be on good terms now, she was glad, learning a thing or two from both of them just by observing. They both seemed less flat with each other's company. In a way they completed one another, could this be what made family something great as well? In a way Tsubasa's glow was restored upon mending his relationship with his brother. Neu rubbed her eyes for a moment to make sure that she wasn't seeing things, but he really was glowing in her eyes.

"He... loves me?" she thought to herself, looking down at the table, "I should just... ask him later... I know he does... but why?"

The food had arrived after some time, Neu wasn't really able to do much, still struggling to barley walk, so she watched Haruto and Tsubasa from where she was. Of course, she actually whispered a special order to a waiter to bring over a cake for Tsubasa. It was still his birthday and Neu valued birthdays far too much to keep it as a festival of tears, even though they were joyful ones.

She sang,

"Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Tsubasaaa,
Happy Birthday to you! Yay!" She smiled and clapped moving around a little from where she sat as waiter lighted the candles.

"Make a wish! Make a wish! Quickly!!" Neu gave a cheerful gesture acting like a child and asking for him to come over and blow out the candle.

That moment may have have to be the happiest moment for Tsubasa in his life, surrounded by those he cared about and those who cared for him in return. This time was special for not only did he have Fei his childhood friend celebrating his birthday with him but he also had Neu and his brother. As the three sang for him on this special day Tsubasa began to look around the table, it seemed strange but he started to see his friends, all of the people he's met and bonded with until now, singing along. It felt as if he had finally returned home...or at least was pressing forward with his path, because among his friends he could see his parents standing among them as well...

After hearing Neu's cheering he smiled and blew the candles out,"..I wish we could all remember this moment...because I won't forget it ever,...thank you all of you...." he said, realizing that after 12 years this was his first ever proper birthday celebration ever since that time, as the people that he saw vanished and he could only see those in front of him right now.

He noticed Neu somewhat struggling to walk or stand regardless of how excited she was, so he stepped off of his chair took her by the hand and helped her to her seat, "..Try not to strain yourself..and I appreciate what you're doing" he said.

In the depth of the forest, the sound of Amon's voice could be heard. His ebony black suit hid him in the darkness under the tree's. He was doing his usual training in his usual spot.It was a shaded place due to the tree leaves that were about him. It was also a cool location due to the lack of sunlight that pieced the cover of leaves and branches His platinum blonde hair was slightly drenched in sweat, his tie was removed and lying on the ground. [I must be as swift as a coursing river] He delivers a spinning back kick to the punch-bag hung up on the tree in front of him. [with the force of a Great Typhoon] This time he punched the bag with his left hand. [With all the strength of a raging fire] Finally delivering a combination of strikes on the bag.

Amon sat on the ground disappointed. "Still not... strong enough" he spoke with exhaustion. Amon had a punching bag set up here in the forest's depths, hoping that no-one would find it, to this date no one had located this spot. He used it to train in his own strength and release his body's tension built up from his anger and rage. Amon removed his suit's blazer, placing it folded up onto the ground next to his tie, undoing his shirt's top button, he took several deep breaths before continuing his previous routine.

"Alright, thanks. Just be happy and I can relax."

Neu sat back down and started with a few appetizers, going into the main course. She tried to strike up conversation with both Haruto and Fei to learn more about Tsubasa. While Haruto didn't remember much as he was still four around the time things started to go for the worse, and had nothing but good things to say about his brother, Neu realized that she would have to rely on Fei in order to get to the real embarrassing boyhood memories of her suitor. His two companions, his best friend and little brother were both a blast. Neu wished that she had people like this. She turned over to Tsubasa to have a glimpse at him and something seemed different yet again. A Vanguard which valued others and wanted to help them, could this be the reason? Never in her life has she ever had such figures whom have welcomed her with open arms. Fei and Haruto would tease her, pushing her closely to Tsubasa, figuratively and mentally. She would start blushing and waving her hand and swaying her head back and forth. "No its not like that!" Though what was running through her mind was the following:

I always think of him as just a plain and average guy...
Maybe he is but?...
I don't know, when I met him I kind of just looked down on him as a cliche wannabe hero.
Then when we fought, he said cliche wannabe hero things...
Eventually he got to me and showed me something I could have never dreamed to imagine in a game of Vanguard.
Then he visited me like every other guy who had a crush on me... typical. It was kind of annoying at first, but I was thankful to him so I let it slide.
But then he took me out on dates and stuff and made me react in ways I could have never dreamed to imagine.
A year later I feel like I've forgotten my feelings, its been so long.
He then acts as if it hasn't been, trying to move right onto the touchy part of a relationship.
Its gross.. really gross... people think they could keep doing that to me... before sweeping me off my feet.
But then his friend is cool, his brother is great.
He's taught me the value of family in ways that I could have never dreamed to imagine.
Somehow it was something about him, he always presents himself as the common guy... then he just...

Sweeps me off my feet.

She turned to Tsubasa after dinner, smiling from having a blast with the conversations with Fei and Haruto. Her hand felt warm, her face felt warm, and she was just amazed all over. Fei and Haruto were so welcoming, she felt the grand feeling of being a human wrap around her. Neu tapped Tsubasa on the shoulder, her face blushing intensely and waited for him to turn around, "H-hey... can... we go talk somewhere alone..." She smiled to the two on the other side of the table, "Haha... sorry guys, gotta borrow him for a bit."

Now that the food had arrived the four began eating and chatting with one another, the conversations seemed to be enjoyable to Neu, but beyond that Tsubasa was personally happy by this situation since he got to talk to his brother more directly. He was extremely satisfied with how things turned out as of now he finally got to celebrate a birthday with the people he wanted to be around even if most of them were standing around him in his hopes and dreams, though the ones that mattered a lot him were by his side at that point. The other situation that he found interesting was how Neu was being uncomfortable when Fei would tease her regarding her and Tsubasa.

After the meals were over, Neu turned to Tsubasa with a look of happiness that brought a certain level of joy to Tsubasa upon seeing that, and asked if they could talk in private.

"..Sure.." he said, Tsubasa got up from his chair and helped take her aside in order to see what she wants to talk about, to which he asked, "..So what's up?"

She walked over with him, over the edge of the restaurant to where the moon shone down through the windows. Her skin glowed under the bluish dark sky, the dim light bouncing off of her dress, making it shine and dance. She looked up at him, her eyes curious and dying to ask a question. She could forgive him for what he did, because maybe now she desired it. Neu could stand well so she leaned over to him and planted her head on his chest turning her head to the side and putting her arms around his body for support before she spoke.

"You said that you loved me... I want to know why... why....? I've had so many people tell me they did, but all of them just wanted me for my parent's money or just wanted to just have me around to play around with. When you say you love me... why?... why?" Her voice was commanding yet trembling.

Tsubasa was completely surprised when Neu approached him the way she did, placing her head upon his chest and embracing him. It was clear that she managed to hear his words to Fei about her, as she asked him the reason behind his love for her. This question truly came to Tsubasa as a shock, he was never one to describe his feelings but in a situation like this he did not want to disappoint especially since he really has fallen for her...

"..It'll be hard to explain but i'll do my best.." he said, taking a deep breath and slightly embracing her as well. "..Neu.., you're the person who helped me change and move on with my life, you've helped me reconnect with my heart and helped me become a man just by being yourself..you see..nobody has ever made me feel the way you make me feel. Every time I think about you and what you stand for, it gives me more strength to carry on with my life,..it makes me happy to be alive, knowing that you've come into my life..with all of that.....All I know is that I want to be with you, and I hope that you, too, want to always to be with me, because...I love you."

These words came out of Tsubasa's mouth with great difficulty he was not one to be in touch with his feelings enough to be able to describe them to someone, especially if that person mean't as much to him as Neu did. He could feel his heart racing with every word he spoke hoping that his feelings were conveyed properly, how he only loved her because of who she is and not for any selfish reason that any other person was after if he fell for her.

Amon heard a voice, a familiar one, a sound from the past. He paused from his training to get a decent look at the person whom had spoke to him. There was no doubt in his mind of who this person was none other than Neo, the child whom had little confidence in the Narukami clan. Amon remembered this man, especially since he had defeated him with his own hands. He decided to respond to him, despite the boy being unable to recognise him.

"What I do here, is none of your concern... Neo, leave whilst you still have the chance to walk away!" Amon threaten Neo, not to scare him away, but to humour himself at his reaction to such a sentence. Not only that, but he was certain the boy would remember him soon enough if he kept talking to him

Neo had began to walk away, Amon was unamused by the reaction, grabbed his suit blazer and put it back on, reaching for his tie and then putting it in his pocket. He gave the retreating Neo a glance of disappointment. "Still the same child without confidence in his own ability. SO much that you wish to escape any form of conflict since you know you will always lose." Amon boldly declared without giving a care in the world.

Neo then stopped after hearing what Amon said.

"You would be surprised. Im not that same person nor fighter." Neo said from a distance.

None of his reasons where about wanting her around for her looks or anything like that. They also seemed genuine. At the very least, Neu could trust him. She took a step back and looked at him, he was glowing like when they fought. She held his hand and locked hers in his.

"My job as a Messiah isn't done until I lead the world of Vanguard into one where everyone is happy." She looked down, avoiding eye contact with him, "I'm slowly regaining my power day by day, and I am growing with everyone else. Eventually I'll be able to show the world a happy time with Vanguard again... how it is to have fun and enjoy themselves. My mission comes first and foremost so..." Neu sighed deeply.

"I need you to promise me that you'll protect the world of Vanguard with me and make sure that it'll be fun for everyone. No matter what. This is what I stand for and live for. For everyone else's sake, whether I know them or not. I just want everyone to be happy." She ran her fingers through her hair, straightening it out along her shoulders, the moonlight continuing to shine on her, with her radiant complexion accompanying her words with gentle reflection.

"We can continue together hand in hand... if you really want to be with me... Love is love, and my love stands with Cray and Vanguard. This world as well, because I love our beautiful blue planet. Promise me that you'll protect this world with me and never leave my side like everyone else has in the past. It's not an easy mission... so if you can't then I won't blame you."

"Seems like your bark is still bigger than your bite." Amon said from a distance. He was enjoying this brief conversation with Neo. "Tell me, tell me do you remember what I told you a year ago at Shop Handsome? You probably don't even remember.... pathetic, much like your Narukami Clan" He stated with a smile on his pale face. His crimson eye's unwavering as he spoke, it was clear that he was trying to jog the memory of Neo.

Her words truly made her shine within Tsubasa's eyes, she truly  is an amazing woman, in her own league above all the rest. Hearing this Tsubasa locked his hands into hers as well trying to make it as soft as possible, yet enough to show her that he is prepared to follow her and do his best for the same cause, and to be able to stay with her.

With his free hand he places his hand under her chin, lightly raising her face so that their eyes met and said, "..I promise you....I will protect this planet, Cray and Vanguard...I promise that we will do it together...I won't leave you Neu, no matter what happens I will be there for you, and I won't leave your side...you have my word."

His eyes filled with determination he looks at her, making sure that his eyes would convey to her his desire to stay with her and fight by her side," I will help you show the world the Vanguard that saved my life.." he thought.

The cool breeze sways in the air. The blue sky almost makes it seem like a paradise within the abundance of life around him. He walks down the path and finds Kurai and Neo in an argument. He climbs a nearby tree. Just far enough back where he can make out what is going on, but at the same time will not make him to noticeable. He finds a branch around 15 feet of the ground, wide enough to be able to hold a person. Now he sits back and watches the show.

The look in his eyes, she liked that. It seems that he was serious in every word. No doubt about it.

She gave gave a sly smile, her eyes still meeting his. "Good..." He only missed her by a little, just made his move too early.  "Um.. I guess there can be emotion behind it now... Haha..." she turned away a little and giggled, the skylight making the redness of her face apparent. Neu was ready to finish what she started she started.

"I win the game though, Tsubasa," the mischeveous grin on her face grew now.

It was never Neu to play it safe, it was her style of Vanguard. It was also never like her to do things the orthodox way, to follow the norm. That was just her general way of doing things. She liked to make things fun, thrilling. Being with Tsubasa seemingly made her heart pound enough as is, a greater thrill than she could ever ask for. In order to win this game of love and sweep him of his feet she would have to do what she had to do confidently and with authority, the way Neu does things.

She took his hands and placed then around her lower hips, giving a feel of what her body had to offer. Then she placed her hands on his shoulder, looking him right in the eye. She then used her power to brighten up the starlights as well as magically move a chair behind Tsubasa. She lifted up her right leg and placed in on the chair, this would cause one of his hands to move lower than where it was when she placed it. At that same time she pulled him closer and lunged forward, meeting her lips with his. She kept her grasp tight and she conveyed her emotions with the kiss. His lips and his touch made her feel human, completed her in every sense of the word. The stars shone down intensely at them. By the end of it, Neu kicked the chair away, barley regaining her balance, moving her chest to meet with his, her lips still meeting with his. After that she gave him a simple hug as the lights of the sky calmed.

"I used my Messiah powers for that... You cant simply one up that man... Lets go back to your brother and friend yeah?... Plus you kind of have to take me back to the hospital... Shoot we just went past my nightime check ups didnt we? Haha oh man..."

Amon had jogged his memory, however the person was wrong in identifying him, he decided to correct his futile error. "Congratulations... you managed to remember the name of Kurai. Granted you are right, but you are also wrong about who I am. I am not Kurai. He doesn't have it in him to hurt the feelings of others...." Amon looked around and noticed Hazama sat on a branch above the ground, he decided it would be best to deal with him later on, considering the problem he is when he had met him. "Well then, Neo, What makes you different from before?"

Amon sighed with annoyance. "I swear weird people like yourself are put into my life by some weird fate. But be happy in knowing you're not as annoying as Neu Edelweiss or as arrogant and stuck up as Golden Boy, Hazama." Amon had expressed his dislike for the two people he had mentioned, knowing that the dislike had been created over different instant's.

Without turning away from Neo, struck the punching bag with his fist, causing it to fly backwards by a slight distance before it returned to it's previous state.

I believe we haven't came in contact for about a year, which is a good thing, for you that is. Now you look different, don't you. It is like the Bruce Jenner transformation all over again, though without the gender change."

Deciding on a random location, Rosalia entered the forest with a wide smile on her lips. She had chosen to wear a comfortable lavender dress with cream-colored flowers that reached just above her knees, and a set of cream leggings underneath. Simple flats protected her feet from the ground and were great for walking in terrain such as the forest, as higher heeled shoes would prove troublesome on uneven grounds. Her usual knee-length, curly red hair was brought back into a very thick braid so it wouldn't get caught on branches. Match red eyes stared up at the sky in amazement at her surroundings, enjoying her brief moment of venturing out on her own.

This is like the day I had gone to the shopping district alone. It felt.. nice.. stepping out of my shell... Though I wonder if anyone I know is out here too, somewhere... Haven't seen Tsubasa, Neo, or Hana since the day in the alley... she pondered. Unfortunately, she couldn't call them or text anyone except Seifer, since she didn't have a chance to ask for anyone's cellphone number... Nor did she earn it yet. They had just met after all, and school would be starting soon. Maybe she could make more friends in her class, since she was probably younger than most of Seifer's friends that she had met so far.

"Eh, enough with thinking about stupid things... I'll get to make friends soon, but right now, I just wanna enjoy my quiet time..." Rosalia said out loud to herself, adventuring farther into the treeline while being careful not to get herself lost in the process. Of course, that's when she heard other voices, and her feet automatically started towards them. Was that Neo?...

Amon decided to trust Neo and explained it to him"For once.... I shall actually believe you Neo. But allow me to correct you on one thing. I am not Kurai Tsukino. I am....Amon." He told both Hazama and Neo his true name, something he had only told to two people willingly before. He decided to once again take his blazer off and instead of placing it to the ground like previous, he threw it to the ground without relent. He glanced at the deck in his pocket, his deck, the Dark Irregular's were in there. Despite giving Neo the benefit of the doubt, he still was disappointed in the fact that the fight would not take place at this instance due to Neo's 'busy schedule'.  He kicked the punching bag, once again sending it backwards, with it once again returning back to it's original state.

As Kurai, or should I say Amon, stated what he wanted to say, Hazama didn't even show one sign of impression. He just stood there. "Was this supposed to be something... I don't know... a surprise sort of thing, or an impression of some sort?" he asked Amon. "And as Demon World Marquis, Amon?"

Rosalia continued along her path quietly, mostly so she could hear the voices better as she got closer with each step. She was sure she heard Neo this time, but there were two other voices with him that she didn't recognize. She didn't quiet understand the conversation either, as she was approaching from the tail end of it, but didn't slow down in her walking. It was only a matter of time before she caught up to the group, just as Neo started to walk away. "Neo? Oh, hey~ I thought I heard you.. What'cha doing out here?" The female redhead paused, looking at who else was in the vicinity with a confused expression, looking between the three males. "Are these guys your friends, Neo?" she asked sincerely, resting one hand over a dark purple deck box that was settled at her hip.

as Neo started to walk off, Amon decided to turn his attention towards Hazama whom pretty much insinuated that Amon was the same as Demon World Marquis. "Congrats... you're completely wrong, Hazama, it was but a mere correction to you wrongly believing me to be Kurai. To be fair on you, you're not the only person to make that stupid and illogical assumption" Amon corrected Hazama's wrong ideal of whom he was and then retorted back with a question of his own.

"Are you finally over your little depression take on life? Because I think the world would agree that if you were less of a whining depressing golden boy, it would be a better place" Amon shot back at Hazama.

He hears a person walking up from behind him.

"Are these your friends Neo," the voice said.

Hazama turns around to see a woman with a lavender dress and with some cream colored flowers. "Friends," he starts to say to her. "You must be joking. I mean really, Neo is just a guy who I had to save a little longer than a year ago. But other than that, if he walked off the face of the Earth, people wouldn't even care enough to tell me. And this guy over here, will never be my friend, even in hell. Oh and by the way, Neo seems to be walking off, so if that was your only purpose here, I would suggest you move along, for your sake."

He turned to Amon. "Well what other retarded Amon is there anyway?" he asked him. "And please, your assumption is off also. That little depressive life you are talking about, isn't true kid. Though that's all I am going to tell you because a little kid who pretends to be Amon doesn't even deserve to know my life. Sheesh, your worse than Haruki." He said all of that without raising his voice dramatically. Sure it went up and down in some parts, but that was to keep it from going monotone.

Rosalia glanced over at one of the strangers, the only one that actually addressed her directly. Actually, she wasn't as bothered as she thought when he dismissed her and Neo so easily, but he did mention one interesting detail: he had to save Neo about a year ago. It reminded her of what Seifer had told her, about clans being sealed and champions... Was Neo and this guy one of the Champions?... She decided not to find out about the stranger. She only shrugged and waved casually to him, smiling softly. "It was nice to meet you." And that was it, the redhead following her friend out of the trees.

"Pardon me Miss, but for your own safety, I implore you to go with Neo over there. You'll be alot safer with him than you are here, trust me on that"

He politely bowed to the lady and returned his attention to Hazama. " Seems like you don't understand what you're getting yourself into...allow me to give you a clearer picture." He looted his blazer on the ground and pulled out a deck. "See this deck here? it belonged to the Underground King. I think he is missing it about now, what do you think?"

Looking at the deck Amon pulled out of his blazer, it still didn't shock Hazama. So, he decided to have a little fun with this. He gasped sarcastically at Amon or Kurai, whatever it is. "You stole that deck. Must have been sooooooooo hard." Hazama continued with his sarcasm with that statement. Then he turned to his usual, not impressed voice. Noel kept on running not realizing that she had long since left the park and entered the forest area of the city. Noel's mind was going a hundred miles an hour, replaying her fight with Seifer over and over. What if... this, What if... that. All she kept thinking of were "What if" scenarios of the fight, denying what happened to be real. She stopped running and stood there with tears going down her face with her finally realizing she is lost in the woods. With disappointment in hand, she was going to turn back whatever "back" was but suddenly her vision started to blur.

"No... not again... not now...!" Noel barely managed to say as she was becoming wobbly and losing consciousness. Unable to fight back the sensation, she fell to the ground and passed out once again.

"Do not fret, soon enough we shall give you the power to save everyone... yes... you will save everyone..."

Neu had pulled a stunt that definitely shocked Tsubasa and made his heart race in a frenzy, but what he enjoyed the most was the amount of passion within Neu's kiss, she was able to convey her emotions with her kiss now he wanted to do the same.

Neu kicked the chair that she used away as she wanted to get going before the check up time, so Tsubasa had only one last chance to convey his feelings better than what he said.

With a swift but subtle movement he moves next to her, embracing her in a gentle way, " I'm not intending on one uping you haha...but I wish to convey my feelings in a better way just as you conveyed yours to me.." slowly he let his lips meet hers and allowed the kiss to last as long as he could possibly allow, as he retracted his lips he said, "...I won't leave you Neu...I'll stay by your side."

He helped her to stand upright and walked her towards the table again, " Thank you both for coming...I'll get back to you sometime after I get her back to the hospital safely." He quickly gave Haruto a hug and shook Fei's hand as he helped Neu over to her wheelchair."

"Alright, good luck lover boy! And Happy Birthday!" said Fei, with a devilish smile on his face as Tsubasa took Neu and walked towards her wheelchair setting her down, as he prepared to leave.
"Aniki! Take care of her and let me know when I can see you again!" said Haruto.

"I will Haruto, I will..." he said as left the restaurant with Neu.
__________________________________________________________________
After returning Neu to the hospital and getting her checked up he helped her onto her bed, she had already changed before the check up and was now ready to get some rest as she lied down on her bed. Tsubasa moved closer to her, "..Thank you for an amazing night Neu..I won't forget it." he said as he stepped back and began to leave her room to get back home.

Tsubasa was able to catch the bus that would take him to his university, on the route it started to pass the forest area. This reminded him of that beautiful date that he had with Neu yesterday, it was something engraved in his heart. However, as he stared into the forest he noticed something among the trees, a body.

"...No...that can't be a person.." he thought. "...Should I just ignore it...i'm gonna miss my lecture..."

He was very uncertain, leaving someone unconscious in the forest is dangerous, especially if that person is in need of help or is close to having a problem.

"..Why me..." he thought.
"Stop!" he said, causing the bus driver to pull over.

Tsubasa immediately gets off the bus and runs towards the area where he say the body. Upon arriving he notices that it was a young lady's body, so he immediately helps her to a sitting position against a nearby tree. "..Hey, you ok?" he asked, lightly tapping at her arms.

What's... happening to me... this city... Vanguard... what's going on...

Join us..

Who are... you...?

In due time... you will join us...

The mysterious and echoish voice starts to fade away.

Wait... where are you?! What's going on?! Someone please! Tell me!

Then slowly within Noel's consciousness, she starts hearing a faint voice getting louder and louder. She soon starts realizing that it is coming from the real world and not in her thoughts.

"..Hey, are you ok?" The voice of a young man was telling to someone, most likely to Noel. She slowly started regaining consciousness with her field of vision slowly going from blurry to normal, clear vision. "Huh...? Where... where am I?" Noel slowly said, still weak from passing out and without any idea what happened. She lays against the tree the young man apparently put her against and she puts her right arm across her face. "How long was I even here?" Noel tried to remember but to no success. She absolutely cannot recall what she did after her fight with Seifer. Her other hand was holding her deck box but with only a few cards inside. The rest of the deck flew out of her deck box when she collapsed, now scattered and damaged from the time they were flown out. Some were even taken away from whatever breeze there was. "NOOO!!" Noel got up and started panicking and got up and tried to collect her cards. "They are all ruined...." Noel's eyes got watery and began to cry to herself that the deck she made all on her own was ruined. Even though she had the money to replace every card, these were special because she worked hard to earn those cards instead of using the easy way out and buying multiple copies via her wealth. However, Ashlei and a few other cards were spared from that fate which relieved Noel a lot. She turns around and sees the young man who appeared to have halted his own plans in order to help her. "Thank you, whoever you are. My name is Noel, what's yours? I know it's sudden but do you think you can help me go back to the hotel I am staying in? Don't get any funny ideas, I just don't want to be alone again in case I pass out!"

The girl regained consciousness in a frenzy, it was clear to Tsubasa that she was upset about something upon waking up. Upon further investigation he notices that she is upset over some Vanguard cards. It was clear that her deck was damaged, by whatever caused her to end up in her current state.

"I have no idea how long you were like this I only just saw you now, but it certainly does not look like you just fainted a second ago." he said, handing the girl a tissue.

"Sure I can take you to your hotel, also if I did try anything funny my girlfriend would kill me, besides I don't really see a reason to do anything, name's Tsubasa btw." he said, as he helped her out of the forest.

"Oh..you do know the address to your hotel right?" he asked.

Satoshi walked up to the restaurant in the woods looking rather dapper in his suit. It had been a while since he had worn it; it was the suit he got long ago that introduced him to Sephirot in the first place. But it still fit him and fit him well. He stepped up to the host and arranged a table.

"I have a guest coming," he said. "One Miss Yugure Espoir." He made sure to use the Chosen Sword's official name, as it was likely recognizable. The host nodded. "Yes, we have served Miss Espoir before. I will direct her to your table once she arrives, Mr. Kurosaki. Until then, right this way."

The host directed Satoshi to a nice table with a view of the skylight. It was a romantic setting...which wasn't exactly what he was intending to present to Yukino, since she and Haruka were still an item, as far as he was aware. But he wasn't about to ask her, "Hey, you want to go to a local cafe?" If asked why, he had an answer, too.

"At least here, they get the upper crust, so seeing unusual people is the norm..." he mumbled to himself, looking over the menu while he waited. He had ordered a nice bottle of chardonnay for the two of them, mostly in the interest of complimenting a meal and sharing with a close friend. A habit that was probably going to bankrupt him again one of these days, but as far as he could tell, there was no stopping now.

After seeing Tsubasa off, Yugure embarked toward the restaurant of the Forest - where Haruka and she had their first date. The time for pleasant memories wasn't now, and she didn't exactly come here to relax. Recruiting a hero had been successful, next was Satoshi. She would use this evening to gauge him, seeing if he was sound enough to help them directly. That, and she knew getting back in touch with her friends was a must. Haruka was another matter entirely she wanted to approach with a more... open mindset.

"I missed you." Was sent to Haruka. It was so, so late, and it didn't even register in her mind to give him that like she should have. The girl didn't know how to make it sincere either, how to make it sound like she really missed him more than anyone else.

Yugure was directed to Satoshi's table upon arrival.

Satoshi looked up from drumming his fingers together and gave the best smile he could, which was admittedly a lot weaker than he would've accepted in the past. It was good to see Yukino again, although she was a lot more...it was hard to describe. The first word that came to his head was "rigid." She definitely had the stature of a soldier fully engaged in a mission, which made sense as far as he could tell. But it also felt, based on his prior experiences with her that he could recall, very distant, and honestly a bit off-putting. Still, there she was, seated in front of him.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" He gestured at the menu. "Order whatever you'd like, it's on me tonight."

Yugure gazed at her beaming friend for a moment, then sat down after a short contemplation. "It has been awhile", the soldier echoed, skimming through the menu for a particular dish. The same meal she had ordered back on her first date was still here, and it made her happy. A content sigh, it was closed, then placed down quickly. Focus was back on the farmboy - member of the "triad" formulated by a distant memory. Hopefully, that wouldn't lead her to bias.

"Has the year been good to you?" The woman inquired, making conversation.

The responses sounded almost robotic. It wasn't at all what he was expecting. So, maybe saying at least something a little bit deeper would change things. His year was...

Satoshi shook his head. "If I'm being honest, despite the fact that I found good work in America for a year while I was away, despite becoming the face of their agriculture and natural products, despite getting paid numerous sponsorships and somehow becoming wealthier than my wildest dreams..." He looked up at her, chin in his hand. "It kind of sucked." He shook his head again. "I spent so long away from my friends and everyone else because I wanted to get away. I wanted to stop thinking about Cray and all of those problems. Self-imposed exile. It..." He lost himself in thought for a moment, then nodded, affirming what he wanted to say next was correct. "It only half-worked. I got to stop thinking about things like that, but it also put me away from people I cared about deliberately. I didn't message anyone over the summer, and my phone never buzzed except for an ad job. It was like I was a completely different person who wasn't even Satoshi Kurosaki."

He leaned in a little. "Now that I've been back, I've noticed a lot of things, and one of the most significant is that while I was away, people moved on. Anything that used to bug us, used to be part of our lives, things we got recognized for...none of the ones who were regarded for it want to remember it. Seifer, for example." He sipped a bit of chardonnay. "Personally, when I look at things, I didn't either, but it was the only point of contact I could bring to try and converse with him once. Didn't work out at all the way I expected, but I guess that's because I've been away for a while."

He closed his eyes, letting the taste of the chardonnay settle a little more in his mouth as he considered this point. Seifer did seem at the very least wanting to try to be friends, and did give him his number, but it was a bit debatable as to whether they were able to be close in any capacity.

Satoshi sighed, remembering what else he had to say. "On top of that...Haruka and Hana..." He shook his head, correcting himself. "Haruka and Isabella, sorry. Both of them seem to have moved on with their lives rather smoothly as well. It's good for them, but it's an end that feels so...how do I put this..." He scratched his head. "Sudden? It's not that I don't think we could still be friends, but the closeness that I remember, that we all sort of developed is just..." He made a gesture with his hands that mimicked an explosion. "Gone."

He leaned back a bit. "So, yeah. Overall, my year's been a mixed bag where my fortune in business doesn't really match the friendships I used to have and want to have again. It's all kind of worthless if you have no one to share the fortune with, y'know?..."

Admittedly, he wasn't expecting much of a true response to all of this from Yukino. Despite how she chose to handle their last heart-to-heart, a lot more accomodating and gentle, she seemed much more as though she had a plan, as if he was getting observed for something. He didn't want to assume anything, but the curtness of her responses felt very detached to what he was used to.

"Don't let the chains of the past weigh you down", was almost an immediate response. At the same time, it was heinously hypocritical coming from her of all people. She learned that trying to move on toward the future instead of living in a time that's gone was more beneficial. Mind you, she could relate to the idea of not wanting to let go of it that easily. That wasn't the entire point anyway. Maybe it was her imagination, but people confused her when it came to fortune. As a pampered queen, she still worked and showed off her effort, while still flaunting cash back in the gross days of her endlessly inflating ego. The woman didn't recall sharing said fortune with anyone but family, and didn't feel the same remorse.

Though, it isn't exactly the same case. She had family, which was more than zero people regardless.

"The way you make your time in America sound... You were living two lives, and contact with friends came with the life you stopped living."

Yugure was in no place to speak as if she were a consular. These were just her honest views of his words, not sure what to really do with them for a normal conversation. Why did she ask if she had no coherent answer, but advice? ... Or did he actually want advice? Ugh. Interacting with people normally instead of conjuring up war strategies wasn't this hard before. She gave a visibly annoyed scowl while lightly facepalming.

Satoshi shook his head, mostly because this was what he had been expecting to hear. "That doesn't make me want to give up that life. I didn't have the money to support myself, but my friends would, no matter what. Sure, I have to take care of me, but being lonely sucks. It's like the life I traded for is worse by comparison. The cost of freedom."

The last phrase that left his mouth hung in his head for a while. The cost of freedom...that held pretty true with Cray, didn't it? Even with the return of the clans, it wasn't exactly the best for everyone. One would argue similarly to what Yukino proposed, which is that what came from moving forward was in the end more helpful than what was ingrained in the past, the one that had the clans sealed away. But the suffering and pain he felt, even for just that moment, told a different story from those that freeing the clans had helped. It forced him to change his ways so abruptly. This wasn't okay.

The waiter came by with their food. Satoshi had ordered steak and potatoes with gravy, as well as a heaping side of grilled asparagus, something he had acquired quite the taste for in America. That and pineapples.

As they left, he shook his head again, having noticed her slight annoyance at having to respond in such a fashion. "Sorry to burden you in any way with it. It's just how things have been. And if you think about it, if I was okay with how things were in America..." His eyes narrowed. "I would've stayed. But I didn't."

Transforming Furikake Gohan was delivered to the queen. But she wasn't interested in it at the moment. Instead, she kept speaking: "Why didn't you just get a job here in Japan? And there's no need to apologize to me."

Satoshi frowned. "I got work in America as a result of being recognized as a Hero of Liberation. I was given the job after the ceremony in New York. It's not as if I was planning to have a job while I was there. I would've been content, just sitting on that island in Hawaii, clearing my head."

He gripped his hair a little. This was turning out to be a bit more frustrating than he was expecting for some reason.

Yugure felt like she wasn't really answered on why he didn't get a job in Japan. As far as she knew, the knowledge of the Liberation Champions and Hero were global. ... As far as she knew. If Satoshi was given a good offer immediately after the ceremony and had no leads in this country, she supposed it wasn't really his fault on jumping for the job...

"I'm sorry", she apologized, taking note of his aggravation.

Satoshi shook his head for what felt like the millionth time that night. "Don't be. I..." He bit his lip. "I would've been fine working in Japan if it wasn't for what I was trying to avoid, which was bringing back the memories of that day. Seeing you guys...as much as I care about you all, at that time, it wouldn't have been good. I would've wanted to hang myself." He stared at his plate. "Even that stadium...we accepted our awards there, and I know I didn't look it, but I didn't want to be there. It was all coming back, and if I had stayed longer...who knows what would've happened."

He started eating a bit to get his mind off of the thought, but midchew his thoughts settled back to this meetup. This was admittedly a bit out of the ordinary, knowing Yukino. She would rather have guests at the mansion than go out with anyone, let alone anyone not named Haruka Nakahara. He swallowed and proceeded with his own lead-in question:

"Enough about me, though, I've talked a lot. What made you accept my invitation to come here tonight? This isn't something you've done in the past without a reason, y'know."

Putting the stress of war plans on Satoshi would probably cause something or two to snap, so Yugure avoided it. Neo Nectar's champion wasn't one for this, that's what she decided on. Since there was a refusal to bring that topic to light, she focused instead on this evening.

"I haven't had much contact with anyone for the past years- year." She slipped, "I would like to get back in touch with my friends. My apologies for never coming out with you just to spend time together."

This way, she wasn't lying. A couple bites of her food were taken, but it took awhile to actually make a dent in the single dish she ordered. Just not much an appetite.

Satoshi chuckled. "Time's different on Cray, right?" Seph hadn't really gone into detail about the other world as much as he would've expected, but from what he understood, a lot more happened in what seemed like an instant on Earth. He took a bite of his asparagus, accidentally letting a bit of his mouth's joy escape his lips in a slight growl of approval. This was certainly a good crop this year. Props to his mother's gardening.

He gave a bit more of smile this time at the apology. "Don't worry about it. As I said, you weren't the only one who didn't say much. Haruka and Isabella didn't, and I didn't especially ask at any point. I didn't even tell you where I was." He waved his fork a bit. "This guy, I think his name was Ronald Drump...he gifted me this expansive piece of land in Hawaii for meeting with him one time. Surprisingly generous of one of America's top businessmen. And with a bit of the fortunes I got...well, I can fly people out there some time to hang out." He shrugged. "Maybe sometime I'll have you guys down there, y'know? It's beautiful."

As he ate more, Satoshi's brain worked a mile a minute. There was something Yukino wasn't telling him. He set his fork down, took another sip of chardonnay, and crossed his arms, leaning back again.

"How'd your training with the Blasters and Ezel go?"

"Sort of", was her response to time working differently. She wasn't exactly at liberty to divulge in a lot of details concerning her absence. A mental note was made not to make that same slip again. Her friend seemed more relaxed and enjoying himself, but the name Ronald Drump unsettled her. What kind of dumb name is that? The soldier actually found herself in a bit of a nervous sweat trying to decipher the minds of parents who came up with it. There was relief, however, as the general happiness of others was what she aimed to bring.

"You'll have to make sure to invite all of us."

Despite being a highly esteemed, upper class rich girl... she had never been to places like Hawaii. Mostly stuck to Japan for her childhood and adolescence.

"I never made it to Cray, but I still got my training. It was successful, as I can wield several different weapons."

"I should rephrase: different types of swords. Namely, Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark as prime examples", she answered the second question before addressing the initial one. Again, this wasn't information she could just freely give out. There was no harm in telling him, however.

"Somewhere in the mountains... Mount Fuji, if I recall."

A black ring lay above the forest area.

The large figure sat upon a seat of stone in front a table, coated in a black and red aura being released from the ridges of his body. The giant impatiently tapped on the fight table, wearing metal bracelets on each of his wrists, both in such a colossal size. The monster waited for his next victim. His starting card was already on the table, and his eyes glowed red with an expression that anticipated more fun as his next toy was dragged into his den.

"BRING HIM IN!" The beast ordered.

Two beings just like him dragged a small and fragile man into the area. Oshiro took a good look at him with his eyes and a good sniff of him, getting a preview of his victim. "HIS INTENTIONS ARE PURE AND CLEAR HAHA... I CAN'T WAIT TO SHATTER YOU APART." The game had begun.

Daisuke Oshiro had no intention of bringing in reversed fighters for the invaders. What he wanted was to re-live the fun days with his friends, the old days in the slums where they would fight for the fun of it and use shock bracelets as a test of toughness... So he reversed them, all of his closest friends, and he took them with him as servants within this forest area. After setting up their own fight tables, they created their game where they even placed their money and all sorts of bets on it. They would find fighters and inspect them, dragging them here to take a beating from the demon.

"WHAT WILL TAKE YOU FIRST?... WILL YOU LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS FROM THE PAIN OF THE SHOCK BRACELETS?... OR WILL YOU STAY AWAKE LONG ENOUGH TO BECOME REVERSED AND JOIN ME AS MY PAWN...?" Oshiro laughed.
"No! Please!..." The man begged.
"TIME TO BEGIN!" The large figure stood and grabbed the man's wrists, nearly separating his arms from his body, and he forced the bracelets on.
"THIS'LL BE FUN JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS! RIGHT GUYS!?" Oshiro looked back at his friends, all looking void and empty, having smiles that represented nothing.
"Yes." They responded back in a robotic tone. Eventually the man fought with his cards as he preferred it much more than a physical beating. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
"Stop! No! Stop!" As his fifth damage fell, healed. He was shocked nonetheless. Then the next, another fifth damage. Draw trigger. He was given a shock again, this time it was enough to cause the pain that would put him to sleep. His arms were fried as well.
"WINNERS TAKE YOUR EARNINGS! HE FELL BEFORE BEING ONE OF US!" The beast placed the money on the table on top of his fallen victim's cards as his friends slowly flocked towards them, also grabbing the unconscious body.

"ADD IT ONTO THE PILE! WE'LL GIVE 'EM ANOTHER TRY SOMETIME!" On his command, the new body was added among the collection of today's broken play toys.

Cero had heard the sounds of a motorcycle pursuing him.  He wasn't taking chances, he had to meet back up with Yugure.  Looking to his left, he saw the forest, and decided to take a detour through there.  Motorcycles aren't exactly suited to this environment, so his pursuer would be stupid to follow him.  This, however, was not a good idea.  Inside the forest, Cero found a pile of unconscious bodies and a collection of Reverse fighters, with one atop what looked like a makeshift throne, prepared to fight.

"It seems I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place..."  Cero muttered aloud, realizing his situation was progressively getting worse.  He had three options:  Cut through the Reverse fighters, find a way around them, or turn back and face his motorcycle-riding pursuer.  Standing there, Cero weighed his options, doing his best to remain out of sight of the Reverse fighters.

He made his decision.  Turning around, Cero exited the forest and prepared to face his pursuer.

"So you're the one chasing me," Cero said as he looked down from a hill upon the man that pursued him.  The suit the man was wearing prevented him from figuring out the man's identity, though that didn't bother Cero much.  He brought out his deck, and prepared to fight the man.  There was no way Cero would let himself be pushed around.

...  Cero had lost.  His deck abandoned him, leaving him at the mercy of his opponent's repeated triggers while Cero had nothing to guard or retaliate with.  It was absolutely absurd, even infuriating, how lucky this person was getting.  A rush at Grade 2 accompanied by triggers every single turn.  There was nothing Cero could do, and he was left defeated.

The aura of reverse flowed into Cero's body, consuming him...  Or, at least it began to consume him.  The marks formed, but the aura changed from the normal one to the shape of lightning.  This lightning exploded out from Cero, destroying trees and causing him to feel three times the agony of any other fighter being Reversed...  The power was extensive, overflowing, something beyond comprehension...  It tempted Cero to give in, yet he wouldn't...  There was no way Cero would give in to this!!!  The aura continued its destruction as Cero fell to the ground, still screaming in pain as Reverse consumed him, or at least that's what it seemed like on the outside.

Within Cero's mind, there was the influence of Reverse and his own willpower.  The Reverse took the form of a giant made of black flames crushing Cero with its grasp, while Cero struggled to escape it.  If he lost the battle in his mind, it was all over.  He struggled and struggled, every bit he tried to escape only tightening the hold on Cero.  The tighter the grip, the harder Cero fought back.  It was an endless loop with no end, though Reverse had the edge.  Cero's will was tiring, and escape was impossible.  He was unable to continue struggling, and the giant lifted him up...  Up above its head, and dropped Cero into its mouth like he was nothing...  As this happened, the destructive aura died down as Cero lost consciousness in the real world.

However, it wasn't over.  As Cero was ready to accept his fate, just to end, the agony, a voice rang out through his mind, no, through his very Soul.

"Now is not your time."

Within his mind, Cero was still within the giant.  However, a presence had joined him.  A familiar presence, one Cero had felt many times...  "I see...  So you never left in the first place, did you?"  From within the giant, Cero's willpower resurfaced, merging itself with the influence of Reverse with the help of this new presence preventing him from losing himself within the massive amounts of power now flowing through him.  In the distance of his mind, he saw something...  A dragon that looked familiar yet different.  It called out to the new Cero with its very soul, calling him to a world both familiar and unknown...  A world of the future.

In the real world, the aura exploded once again, showering the area with destruction.  A card materialized within Cero's hands, but not a Reverse card nor the presence nor the dragon in the distance of his mind, but a card that embodied Cero's ambition and would grant him the power he had always been searching for:  Eradicator, Tempest Bolt Dragon.  Although he hadn't received a Reverse card, Cero still had the red marks upon him and a rather chaotic, lightning variation of the Reverse aura.  To anyone but himself, he would seem to be a Reverse fighter just like every other person that had lost one of these fights.

Creating a barrier to shield him from the horrendous amounts of lightning coming out from the man's aura.

"It shouldn't take this long..."
Hikaru thought as the man continued to struggle and resist the process of reverse. He should just knock him out so the process goes faster. He keeps the barrier as he walks over to Cero to knock him out. However the man's aura sky rocketing as it went to several directions as lightning lit up the trees as they begin to burn in black flames. Fortunately the flames will disappear once the aura subsides.

"What is this..." He looked at the king once more. He scoffs it off and began to leave. He went to the outskirts of the forest and drive off on his motorcycle.

The beast stood within the shadows, sitting his throne of stone and vine, a small laugh from the night prior still was in him. He had seen the Underground King triumph, the traitor that ended the peace of the slums, going against his duty as it's chosen ruler. His friends gathered around him as he called them close, he placed his deck on the table and prepared his bracelets, which were chained down to the table. He was like an animal on a leash.

"GO FETCH THE UNDERGROUND KING AND BRING HIM HERE, HE SHALL BE THE FIRST VICTIM OF THE DAY." The reversed fighters then set out to fetch him.

Upon seeing that his victim had entered the cage, he called out over to him.

"HIKARU!" He slammed his fist on the table, his expression full of anger. The Underground King looked small to him, and the scent that he gave off was full of malice and negative intent. This was truly the one who caused the chaos within Umano.

He threw another pair of bracelets to the other side of the table, his deck already prepared. "YOU KNOW THE DEAL!" The challenge was sent.

He felt a shock as the attack was about to hit. He suddenly went limp and crashed onto the ground. Signalling of a lose the brace gave out an electric shock to the young man that laid on the ground.

The negative energy from Oshiro had overloaded the already contaminated body of Hikaru. It was Oozing out of him as it drained the negative energy from Oshiro from Hikaru's body.

"It would of destroyed him if he had continued to fight." A dreaded voice thought as it looked at the limp body of Hikaru. The Black glass began to reform around his head and covering his image. Returning to the void of darkness.

Revenge was a few steps away. Oshiro stood, grunting like and angry animal and breathing heavily as he made his way to his limp and fallen opponent. All it would take now is a stop on his head to end him. He raised his foot, a heavy and wide size 15 and placed it few inches over the King's head. This was revenge for the what he did to the slums, for turning Oshiro and his friends into this.

But he refrained.

He carried the King and sat his limp body upon his throne. Oshiro felt a rage inside of him and punched the throne, his fist landing only a few centimeters away from The Underground King's head. "WE ARE ON THE SAME BOAT NOW, AND IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR LIFE YOU SHALL NOW SERVE ME."

His reversed side spoke making the act seem vicious, but his heart at this moment dictated the decisions that he made. The decision to forgive and befriend Hikaru once more.

The black ring above the forest began to disappear.

It was time for a change of locations, as this primitive one was being outgrown by it's owner. Oshiro had filled the forest with his fighters, and they were dancing about, fighting joyously as their ruler sat down and looked upon their happiness with a great sense of pride.

In the giant's hands were his prizes. The head politicians, representing each district of the nearby area were wth him not, nearly unconscious or sound asleep. He held his favorite representative himself, squeezing his head with his hand's tight grip. The representative of Umano was forced to fight the monster in a similar fashion as all the others, except with the new shock machine that they retrieved, the shock intensity was much more powerful. The poor suited man had his sleeves burned off, showing his now deformed skin.

The other representatives lay about, their guards having been unable to stop Ushiro both physically nor theough a Cardfight. He had reversed them as well. On the fight table lay documents, all of which handing over the control of the towns and district to the demon himself. The representatives slowly had woken up, now reversed as well, and under their new ruler's command, they relinquished their power to him.

Oshiro was given a suit, but despite the formal wear, he only looked more like a demon. He was told that the Undergroud King had made an escape, but at this point, that wa of no importance to him. He headed to the towns government halls in order to claim his new position.
