Searching for identity has been Noel's lifelong goal. Of course, as the heir to the wealthy Kusanagi family, everyone sees her as nothing more as the next one in line to take charge in the family business. Her accomplishments as an individual are often ignored or are usually assumed that it is because she is from a rich family. "Of course, she is a member of the Kusanagi family afterall" or "That's to be expected from a Kusanagi" are usually the phrases that have been told by everyone which has been slowly making Noel question what will happen the day she doesn't meet the expectations of those who watch her. Noel's intelligence and creativity are often drowned by her own family name, losing her sense of individuality. That was of course, through one fateful day, she met her half-brother Seifer who introduced Noel to the world of Cardfight!! Vanguard. Family names, social status, or money meant nothing in Vanguard. It was the world Noel was looking for, a world where she has her own voice, her own identity as a person that isn't determined by her daily life standards. In said fateful day, Seifer gave Noel her first Vanguard unit: Pure Heart Jewel Knight, Ashlei, a proud knight, though still young, who has become the leader of the most elite troop of the Royal Paladin clan, the Jewel Knights. From that day forward, a glimmer of light started shining through. Now at the age of 18, she arrives at Rijuku as ordered by her family and enter one of the prestigious school's available. However, Noel decides to enter a regular school in order to learn how the "normal" life is and used it as an excuse as to learn how the "world below" works.
