Title: [OTT] - CoCo Magus
Post by: Devour on May 03, 2014, 06:04:30 AM
[Oracle Think Tank] - CoCo Magus

Grade 0: (17)

SV: Little Witch, LuLu
- 4x Psychic Bird (CRITICAL)
- 4x Oracle Guardian, Nike (CRITICAL)
- 4x Vicotry Maker (DRAW)
- 4x Lozenge Magus (HEAL)

Grade 1: (13)

- 4x Tetra Magus (Perfect guard)
- 4x Circle Magus
- 3x Crescent Magus
- 2x Battle Sister, Lemonade

Grade 2: (12)

- 4x Stellar Magus
- 4x Briolette Magus
- 2x Cuore Magus
- 2x Silent Tom

Grade 3: (8)

- 3x Scarlet Witch, CoCo
- 3x Hexagonal Magus
- 2x Pentagonal Magus

The strategy beside this deck isn't that simple as you may think. Sure, you have a huge hand, which is always a plus, but the pure feeling of topdecking is just out of this world. CoCo and the magus' complement each other so well, because neither of them needs a soul, so on a turn where you ride CoCo over Hexa, you draw 3 in total and you knw the enxt 2 cards, which, if you don't want to drive, you draw with Psychic bird, get in hand with Stellar. Brilette is there to make safe plays, you can use it to activate pretty much any topdeck skill, + you get rid of the soul for CoCo and you draw. There really sint much to say about the deck if you don't understand how it's supposed to be played, but anyway, i present you with it. Have fun. Criticism is welcome. And let me get a jump start on some questions: Yes, i could alter the ratio between CoCo-Penta-Hexa, but with a little over 50 games, of which i've won around 47, i think it's great the way it is. Toms could be swapped out, since i don't run 8k vanilla boosters. Ive also been thinking about GaGa, but we'll see about that. The rest is up to you.

This is actually a really solid build. The deck doesn't seem to really have any problems, and synergy is definitely there (on paper cuz I didn't try it yet). But I suppose you're right about the Toms. He doesn't look like he either hurts or boosts the deck too much, so that leaves it up to taste. This is definitely one of the better Magus decks out there. Thanks for posting.  :D

I know, about Toms, yeah. I could potentially test something instead of him, but we'll see how it goes.
Might try t swap Lemonade for Luck Bird, to see the difference, aswell.

Well Tom does have Crescent to give it a 9k boost should you get her top deck correct however unless you know the top card which in most cases you won't since Tom likes to generally attack after the vanguard she really isn't going to be much help to tom. So I'm going to have to agree you should try something else over Tom since you lack the Gemini. You already have Cuore so for now I suggest trying Promise Daughter unless you want more Cuore.

Yeah, TSS, i know. Though you're wrng on me not getting it right most of the time. o.o Even if i don't Briolette/multiple Stellar/Hexa/Circle combo, i have a hella lot of luck when it comes to topdecking Briolette, CoCo and Tetra when i use one of the Stellar/Crescent skills. Which is, uhm, weird, since i don't have luck normally, which you already know. o.o

Wonder how this deck would work against a Legion ^_^

Judging on the draw power of a Coco deck and power of a Magus deck it handle well in the early, mid, and possibly late game it just has to defeat the opponent before then.

In my opinion, using Gentle Jim with silent Tom creates a possible 21k rearguard row, while a trigger will boost if to 26k making your opponent need three 5k guards in their hand.

Gentle Jim is good card for attack power but every time I building and wish to use him I worry about the amount of the grades 3 and if I could draw Coco.

I'd suggest adding in a card like Dark Cat or a card that allows you to redraw. If you don't manage to ride KoKo and use her skills it might be a potential useless rearguard so you'd want to get rid of it. (Yes, Lemonade can get rid of soul but just in case a bad scenario occurs)

None of those actually work, to be perfectly honest. Dark Cat is most definitly a no. And you don't see this deck missriding a lot. Every G3 i get i can use to its fullest, so pretty much none of them are dead draws o.o

Okay then, guess i'll have to try as well to make sure that it'd work consistently on my side. Have you considered getting Quintet Wall's if they're made?

I would like Quintet Wall for Oracle Think Tank it would help counter tons of decks.

As for Dark Cat I use 4 in my CoCo deck that's because my objective is to draw cards, while in this deck wants to focus on power. Dark Cat is a card that depends on the objective of the deck.

However, in my opinion the more Dark Cat's you run the more advantage you five your opponent. Such as if your opponent is running Link Joker.

I'll have to dissagree on this as the deck balances out hand managment and power gain. Thusly Lulu and Coco and Stellar's topdecking. The power outlet is pretty much just Pentagonal and crescent. So yeah, it's pretty much balanced. Neither draw based nor power based. Dark Cat is a freebie to your opponent, always consider that. There are better ways to get to that +1 without giving your opponent the +1. Don't get me wrong, Dark Cat was amazing in its time, but it's too cheap now.

Also about the Lemonade's, since you soulblast using KoKo's skill how would you soulblast 2 (possibly 4 if you call 2 lemonades) Just wondering.

I'd assume it was for in case he had to ride Pentagonal Magus. Or ride coco over another after feeding psychic birds to the soul.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Psychic Birds. So they were there to add up soul and not lose disadvantage? I never thought of using it that way except just using Pentagonal Magus for more pressure.

Well I can say that this deck works perfectly well since the builder is devour himself and all decks he builds work just fine and also he uses them well.
