Title: "Download new update" error on clean install
Post by: aeee98 on January 21, 2015, 10:19:09 PM
Hi, I have recently bumped into this problem where I need to update Area (even when it is already updated). It still shows me the same error on a clean install of the latest version, so I don't know the problem to this.

Windows version: Windows 8.1 64-bit

From what I know, a new version of the game was uploaded because of the DDoS attack(s). So you have to download the game again and use that to play it, even though both are version 1.69. Delete the old one and update to the new one.

Delete EVERYTHING of your current CFA data (except your decks if you want to save those, put them in a backup location), then redownload the full version of 1.69. If winrar or whatever you use asks you to overwrite something, you didn't delete everything and it won't work.

You should be downloading a 178MB version of the game.

Once you have it downloaded again, copy your deck files and you're free to put them in your fresh cfa. You should be able to connect after this.
