Title: Contest: Mats in the Sky
Post by: Rank Up on October 06, 2015, 01:06:53 PM
CFA mats creating contest.
Lets try another contest C:
You need to...
Create a CFA playmat. It should be 607x720 pixels in size. The mat should contain background, all the necessary game zones (damage zone, drop-zone, deck, guardian circle, vg circle) and ofc love <3. RG circles are not mandatory, but it would be better if you add them. DO NOT ADD the stride zone, CFA has no place for it.

Details.
Needed file extension: .png
Number of playmats you can present: 3 or less.

Restrictions.
  • You cannot steal playmats, Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. If you break this rule the softest punishment will be DQ; All playmats must be original.
  • You are not allowed to participate in the following contest using multiple accounts. You'll be punished if I find out.
  • You can't show other users your mat(s) until voting ends.
  • You aren't allowed to submits mats that have been previously posted anywhere before the start of the contest.
  • Playmats should not break any forum rules.

Prizes.
Participants who come as either, first or second place, will receive any 2 sleeves of their choice in CFA. If we will have enough participants, the third place holder will also receive a sleeve. And if we manage to receive many participants, next contest may have a more serious prize. So good luck and show us your best creation. ^^

Time limit.
Accepting playmats: until 23:00 (GMT+3) of 17.10.2015.
Voting: from 18.10.2015 to 23:00 (GMT+3) 19.10.2015. Results will be posted an hour later.

FAQ.
  • Q: Do users of russian forum participate too?
A: Yes, to get more mats for contest.
  • Q: Can I use other people's arts?
A: Yes, but you better state the copyright somewhere on the mat. Like: Art by *Author name*.
  • Q: Can I use some elements of other playmats in mine?
A: No, you better draw your own. You can use the standard ones though.
  • Q: Can I vote for my own playmat?
    A: Yea ะก:
  • Q: Can I give you the playmats one at a time?
A: Yes, but it increases the chance, that I'll make a mistake somewhere, so it would be better if you give me all your playmats in one pack.
  • Q: Can I write my nickname on the playmat?
A: No. I need anonymous voting, so people will vote for playmats not for a user, who make them.
  • Q: Do you have some PS template for making playmates?
A: Sure, here he is (http://unknownkira.deviantart.com/art/Cardfight-Vanguard-Mat-and-Sleeve-Base-340901873). Dont forget to say thanks to UnknownKIRA.
P.S. If you noticed something or just wanna express your opinion on contest -  use this topic.

I quite not get That. So I can send a mat, not made by me, as long as I state the Creator on post/message?

A: No, you better draw your own. You can use the standard ones though.

What do you mean by elements? Like i can't use official bushiroad logos or zones or do you mean i cant use images from like google and have to draw out myself?
Also is a Bind Zone really necessary? since well the bind zone itself is kinda in CFA and like its hard to get the exact spot of where the bind zone should be thou.

You aren't allowed to submits mats that have been previously posted anywhere before the start of the contest.

So even if I was the one who has posted the mat myself on my own page?

Btw what happens if the image/Unit covers the zone eg. deck or drop? Can the mat still be accepted

Also u mention that you may vote for yrself. So then how many votes does each person have or does everyone has a single vote?

No. I meant you may use arts for background or something like that. You cant just submit someone's else playmat.

No I mean you see someone's else playmat and you liked it's, I dont know, damage zone. And you copyed it - you're not allowed to copy it.

Also is a Bind Zone really necessary? since well the bind zone itself is kinda in CFA and like its hard to get the exact spot of where the bind zone should be thou.
Hmm, good catch. I guess you're right, it's not nessesary (will change it in first post).

So even if I was the one who has posted the mat myself on my own page?
Yes.

If I can tell there is a certain zone, then, even if it's covered by image or a unit a bit (not entirely), then it will be accepted. You should understand though, that it can cost you some points on the voting.

Also u mention that you may vote for yrself. So then how many votes does each person have or does everyone has a single vote?
I was going to mention it before the voting starts, but I'll answer. It will be like that: you may vote for minimum 12 (this number depends on number of participants and may change in the future) of mats, explaining your opinion on them and why you liked it or disliked it, what cna be improved and etc. The most laborious people can write their opinion and vote for every playmat, presented in this contest, and it will be highly appreciated.
The reason I do not force people to vote for mats they dont like is that they can give me detailed judgement on those playmats, they like. It may also increase number of voters, as any user of both forums can vote, even if they do not participate.

Where exactly do we post them? Do we post them here or do we pm u?
if we pm u how would we contact u?
also imo, i think the voting is a bad idea, id rather u choose 3 people and have them vote...but like i said this is just my opinion.

You can use public template - it's up to you. Also, it would be great if you gave us a link on this template ^^

You can use any art you want as long as playmat is meeting requirements.

Abt the double sized clause.
Can I put my mat design on one side only and leave the other side as a Generic Playmat? (But it will still be 607 x 720)
Will this minus my points or whatever that will be judging.
Or it is a must to have the design on both sides?

Oh, well, It is not breaking any rules, so you can but I'd suggest you dont do it. It wont feel complete, as voting will be public, it may cost you the win in contest.

Since Expy gave me the permission I will post an example mat.
Though remember that you are not supposed to have your nickname/username on the mat.
