Rematerializing before him, Sephirot gave a grin to his fusion partner. "The clans of Cray are unsealed once more. We can return to our ways of Vanguard!"
Satoshi shook his head. Despite this change, things were still haunting him. His failure to succeed for his friends, despite his strongest efforts, had left him with nothing, and others had to fight his battles for him in such a way. He had been an unintentional burden, but a burden nonetheless.
"I need time away. I can't lose you all again. I don't want to fail Haruka, Yukino, Hana, you...anyone, really...again." He got himself up and hugged his spirit. "I want you guys to be safe, and I can't guarantee that I can keep you that safe. So please...rest easy."
Seph wanted to protest, but instead, as he hugged his Vanguard, he realized what it was that he wanted. He pat his shoulder. "We will wait for our champion to return to us when he's ready."
Satoshi gave a weak smile as Seph waved farewell and returned back to Cray to greet the return of the clans and the celebrate the ascendance of Blaster Meister. Hands in his pockets, he left without saying anything to anyone else.

Upon returning to Cray, Seph made brief contact with Amaterasu, requesting that someone at least watch over his champion while he and Neo Nectar went off to prepare for his eventual return. Amaterasu appointed one of her associates, the Goddess of Good Luck and bearer of the Wheel of Destiny, Fortuna, to assist in observing and protecting Satoshi from straying further from his path. A man without a clan and without a way of Vanguard was bound to encounter problems down the road. Fortuna agreed to this and got her allies within Genesis to come with her to support the broken farmboy in a chance to pick up the pieces.
But in the process of screening his head, Fortuna discovered something strange. A foreboding energy, a presence that could not be shaken from Satoshi's mind, has started to take root and fester. Even with its host still in control, the virus returned an ominous notice:

Biography: A young man from the country, Satoshi Kurosaki is a farmer by trade, working on growing and harvesting crops with his family since he was a child. As such, he grew up very distant from city culture and scarcely got anything special from there except on brief vacationlike visits. Some of those things were Vanguard cards, which his family used to build various decks and play against each other. Satoshi bonded with the cards most of all because of a strange occurrence the first night he had them, where the spirits of the cards came to life in his mind and talked to him as though they were friends and companions. Since then, Satoshi assembled a Neo Nectar deck and cultivates his skills as much as his crops, despite having few people to play with...until one day, when his parents told him he was finally his own man and could do what he wanted. Perhaps his prospects lie in the city, and maybe someone can explain to him why he can talk to cards in such a way...

Name: Satoshi Kurosaki

Biography: A young man originally from the country, Satoshi Kurosaki is the new champion of Neo Nectar for Cray. Together with his guardian spirit, Seph, he wields the clan in the name of Cray's preservation alongside his companions, Yukino Espoir and Haruka Nakahara. Despite his lack of understanding of the way city folk live, he learned rather fast and moved in with Haruka in an effort to have a place to stay that wasn't a park bench. In exchange, he paid rent while working as Yukino Espoir's "footstool," essentially a personal servant boy. But really, he was paid to help protect the Espoir sisters.
Despite all of this, his guardian spirit, Seph, has not quite made clear the intentions of Cray's council, as a sudden change of clans forces the balance of the world to shift, but only slightly. What is the reasoning for these clans' disappearance? And why is it so that Satoshi cannot remember the names Royal Paladin, Kagero, or Shadow Paladin?
