Atsuko commits himself in a life of solitude- for the sake of balance and peace. Gancelot suddenly vanishing, without the knowledge of this, he is found alone amidst the joy of cardfighting. Alone in the world without a single one to cardfight with.
Realizing the futility of finding a friend and a avatar he gives up on vanguard. Without the aid of solitude from Gancelot he cannot last in the cardfighting world. On the brink of dispair Divine Seal Dragon Dungaree appears before him asking him to release the seal bound to him- In so doing granting him the power of being his avatar. Hence Atsuko and Dungaree attained the common goal of retaining peace and balance between the world of Vanguard.
Atsuko will be found gazing upon cardfighters, admiring their rivalries and earnest passion for the game. He reminds himself constantly that he must be alone in order for peace to be attained. He will be found alone and must be for the rest of his life.
