Title: "Royal Wolf" Fan-made Archetype
Post by: Lance Korilum on May 08, 2014, 11:43:49 PM
I got the idea for this Archetype from the Create the Card above forum game, when Yata requested "Garmore, of the Wolves."  It's a bit similar to regular Royal Paladins, but they primarily discard cards in order to Superior Call High beasts from the deck, and will make more use of the Soul and very little Counterblast.  The cards will gain bonuses from these High Beasts, and won't be purely restricted to their own archetype.  Any High Beast can be used.  They also have a lot of offensive-based skills, with control being left to non-archetype cards, such as the original Blaster Blade.  I may decide to expand this archetype into multiple clans, or change the entire thing to a different one, but for now it's going to stay Royal Paladin.  If you want to make your own cards, you can post them in a reply, and ones that I think fit and are balanced enough will be added, with credit to the person who made the card.

Grade 3 Units:

Lord of the Royal Wolf, Garmore
Grade 3/11000/Human

[ACT](VC): Legion 20000 "Royal Wolf, Snogal" (If your opponent has a grade 3 or greater vanguard, only once, this unit may return four cards from your drop zone to your deck, and search your deck for the specified card, and perform Legion.)

[AUTO] (Choose one <Royal Paladin> from your hand and discard it)  When this unit performs legion, you may pay the cost.  If you do, search your deck for up to two different <Royal Paladin> <High Beast> and call it to an open RG circle.

[AUTO] When this unit attacks a Vanguard, this unit gains +2000 power for every <High Beast> with a different name on your RCs.

The card I made in response to Yata in the Create the Card above game, albeit with a different name.  This is currently the main ace unit of the Archetype.

Royal Wolf of the Red Rose, Lanbau
Grade 3/11000/High Beast

[ACT](VC): Legion 20000 "Royal Wolf of the Red Rose, Lancaster" (If your opponent has a grade 3 or greater vanguard, only once, this unit may return four cards from your drop zone to your deck, and search your deck for the specified card, and perform Legion.)

[ACT] (SB2, and choose one "Royal Wolf" from your hand and discard it.) If you control 4 or more other <<High Beasts>>, you may pay the cost.  If you do, search your deck for one Grade 2 or lower <<High Beast>>, call it to an open RG circle, and give that unit +5000 power.

[AUTO] (VC) When this unit attacks a Vanguard, if you have a <<High Beast>> in the same column as this unit, this unit gains +3000 Power until the end of that battle.

This card was made as the Legion with the 12k attacker, and use the Soul.  It can be used as an alternate Final Turn option, and makes stands a bit more viable in the archetype.

Grade 2 units:

Royal Wolf, Snogal (Effect by Ryukkun)
Grade 2/9000/High Beast

[CONT] (RC): During your turn, this unit gains +1000 Power for every other <<High Beast>> you control.

This card was made by Ryukkun in the Create the Card above! forum game, in response to me.  This card would serve as a great target for York, or can be on it's own, and still hit good numbers.

Royal Wolf of the White Rose, Yorgal
[AUTO] (RC): When this unit attacks, if you have a Vanguard with "Royal Wolf" in its name, this unit gets +3000 Power until the end of that battle.

The generic Archetype 12k attacker.  Not really much else to say here.

Shield of the Royal Wolf, Edward
Grade 2/10000/Human

The generic 10k vanilla, staple to archetypes.  Again, not a lot to say about it.

Royal Wolf Breeder, Akane (Card by Yata)
Grade 2/9000/Human

[AUTO] (Choose a card from your hand and discard it) When this unit is placed on RC, you may pay the cost.  If you do, search your deck for up to 1 <High Beast> with "Royal Wolf" in its card name, call it to (RC) in the same column as this unit as [Rest], and shuffle your deck.

Royal Wolf Breeder, Cielon
Grade 2/9000/Human
[AUTO](RC):[Counter Blast (1)] When a <High Beast> is placed on (RC) from your deck, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card.

Grade 1 units:

Royal Wolf, Psybau
Grade 1/6000/High Beast

[AUTO] During your turn, when this card is sent from your hand to the drop zone by one of your cards' effects, you may send this unit to the Soul.

This unit was designed as a way to replenish the Soul, and as a good target to discard for the effects of other Royal Wolves.

Royal Wolf of the Pink Rose, Rogau
Grade 1/7000/High Beast

[AUTO] (RC): When this unit attacks, if you have a Vanguard with "Royal Wolf" in its name, this unit gets +3000 power until the end of that battle.

Generic G1 10k attacker, staple to archetypes, not a lot to say.

Royal Wolf Guardian Squad (Effect by Yata)
Grade 1/6000/High Beast

[CONT] Sentinel (Unit still has 5000 base shield)

[AUTO]:[Choose a card from your hand, and discard it] When this unit is placed on (GC), you may pay the cost. If you do, search your deck for up to 2 <High Beast> with "Royal Wolf" in its card name, call them to (GC), and shuffle your deck.

Grade 0 Units:

Royal Wolf, Brugal
Grade 0/5000/High Beast

[AUTO]: Forerunner (When a unit of the same clan rides this unit, you may call this unit to (RC))

[AUTO] (Send this Unit to the soul, then choose 1 "Royal Wolf" from your hand and discard it.)  When an attack hits a vanguard during the battle that this unit boosted, you may pay the cost.  If you do, search your deck for up to 2 Grade 1 or lower <<High Beasts>>, and call them to open RC as Rest.

The main forerunner of the Royal Wolf.  Allows you to exchange it and something in your hand for a more important booster, or the G1 10k attacker.

Royal Wolf Messenger
Grade 0/5000/High Beast
Stand Trigger

Lucky Royal Wolf, Epona
Grade 0/4000/Sylph
Critical Trigger

[ACT] (RG) (Send this unit to the Soul) You may pay the cost.  If you do, choose one of your <High Beast> and give it +4000 power until end of turn.

Royal Wolf Maiden, Elaine
Grade 0/6000/Elf
Heal Trigger

[CONT]: This unit has -1000 power.

Royal Wolf, Margal
Grade 0/5000/High Beast

As said before, suggestions are welcome.  I'll add lores for some of the cards eventually, and am willing to take suggestions for those too.  The archetype is, quite obviously, no where near complete.  It still needs a looot more stuff.

For Garmore, when he performs Legion and uses his skill I suggest a counterblast instead of discarding a card. Since, this deck didn't really seem too counterblast heavy.

The entire point of the archetype is to not use much Counterblast....  It discards cards cards instead.  It gives room for Counterblast to be used for stuff like Blaster Blade and Constance, maybe even Alfred.

A part of me really wants to see these cards actually happen in the actual game. I feel like Garmore was just forced into golds randomly and wasn't thought well enough. The original Garmore was way more fun to use overall too and these cards catch the spirit of that Garmore.

One of them already got named....  And Aleph makes no sense for a Royal Paladin.  That guy's from Kagero.

Royal Wolf Breeder, Cielon would do for the Grade 2, possibly?

Nice Arc I kinda like. I wanna see Kanzne Gaurdo, QW, Full Set Triggers and a LBer unit which could help this Archetype...(Obviously I want to proxy them :3)

Don't worry, Kanzen Guardo, QW, and triggers are on the way, I just need to think up some names.  I can start trying to think of a Limit Break, as well.
