I'm going to be unable to play for a few weeks because my computer is going to service for repairs. Good luck in the meantime while I'll be out of contact though. ファイト!
I would like to improve the current environment of the Cardfight Area community into one more friendlier toward newer players to the game. To do so, I would like to ask for the aid of anyone willing to help me achieve this goal. How will we do so? I have some ideas for ways to provide an entertaining or efficient learning experience but I would like to hear other opinions.
Idea 1- Make it a role play: Basically set a thread free for people to join in. People can join in as students, but instructors will be limited and have to fulfill a certain set of requirements and be approved. Additional things can be added like different schools based on a Nation of Cray with competition between the schools.
Idea 2- Have a simple thread with a list of people that a new person could look for to ask for instruction. This would require people who are knowledgeable about the game to volunteer themselves to improve the Cardfight Area community.
Idea 3- Credit to Rex 117, specific clan instruction. A thread can be made for newer players to find word documents, instructor contact information, or other forms of aid search for their specific clan of interest. Notice: This does not mean that you will receive a deck someone else made that you can go ahead, just play, and expect to have the appearance of a strong player. These instructors will only assist you if you have questions, so you can learn and have your own ideas, not give you easy shortcuts.
In each idea, instructors must fulfill a certain set of requirements:
Be kind toward beginners
Be patient
Be open minded toward ideas and play styles different from your own.
Be knowledgeable toward mechanics of at least 12 clans
Display good manners. For example, resist your urges to yell out "Final Turn!"
Basically be a good starting role model for new players to follow. I'd rather have cardfights that end in "gg,""nice fight," or "that was a fun game" rather than "get wrecked scrub," "learn the rules newb," or the occasional "[This message was censored as viewer discretion is advised.]"
Lastly, become approved as a person of good character within the community. Pretty much, ask 2-3 people who would recommend you as an instructor with the previous requirements fulfilled and message me. I ask for this last requirement to limit the amount of possible toxic hinderences to this idea.
As I find more ideas to implement this, I will add them. If anyone has an idea that I find to be one that could work, I will add it to the current list and credit them. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Feel free to leave any comments, opinions, ideas, or concerns.
Basically the team battle consists of three phases:
Phase 1: Clan Picking Each member of both teams will be declared. One player from each team is paired together. Each individual member of both teams then decide a clan for the corresponding member of the opposing team. No member in each team may share the same clan, so clan diversity still continues. Cray Elementals and Etrangers cannot be selected as clans for an opposing player. Phase 2: Deck Making A reasonable amount of time will be made for both team's participants to create their clan decks based on how long they would like to enjoy. All usual deck rules and restrictions still follow: -No Clan mixing (Cray Elementals do not need to follow this rule from this for obvious reasons) -All Japanese card count restrictions. (Example: 1 Commander Laurel allowed in a deck at maximum in dimensional police)
Examples: Rush- 5 minutes Leisure- 15 minutes Phase 3: The Actual Team Battle ....Not much to say here.....Just apply whatever other team battle rules you want here. XD.
I made this team battle format in the interest of....just having interest. This format is just to make team battle more interesting by testing the ability of possibly taking players out of their comfort zone, or testing each player's experience playing against or with certain clans. This is also to expose players to possible clans that they may also take a liking to, or improve their game play outside of their main clan.
I am just posting this to see if anyone is willing to try this or want to take this idea and adapt it to their choosing. XD
With current and upcoming support for clans, I would like to think most clans would be pretty balanced with each other to do this.
I am really hoping this could possibly balance team battles a bit more in terms of experience difference for old and newer players.
