Jellal originally started off as a cold and distant individual with a bit of a troubled past. He kept to himself and only focused on himself, never bothering or engaging anyone. After one fateful cardfight with Yukino Espoir, he slowly started to change: slowly accepting the existance of Vanguard, facing his fears, and above all meeting his destiny. He was taken to a world, known as Planet Cray, where he met group of warriors who stood brave near the ocean, called Aqua Force. They asked for his assistance and he gladly accepted the task. He defeated Yukino, making his way into Nationals only to lose in the semi-finals against Cero. He later had a fateful reunion with Kaze Ryuenji, a Royal Paladin user, who strangely acted upon the sight of Phantom Blaster Dragon. Jellal had not seen him since for Jellal was asked once more from Aqua Force to fulfill his mission. Tasked with defeating Royal Paladin, Kagero, and Bermuda Triangle: Jellal set for defeating Yukino with the power of his Phantom Blaster Overlord. They had one final cardfight days after, to which Yukino was able to break Jellal free of his past guilt, shame, and torment. Discarding the past, he aims to ready to take the world by storm armed with the power of his rightful clan, The Aqua Force.
Since then, Jellal has stopped being as much as a loner as he used to be. His old creed of sacrifice was modified to being able to "break free" of all restrains, as he now values and understands the importance of his allies. He wields the proud Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom: the iconic dragon of Aqua Force that is said to bring justice and order to the world.

Yukino - Royal Paladin: Blaster Blade. His first interaction in a long time, Jellal mockingly challenged the idea of her being able to talk to the cards. However, after each encounter, they both grew to understand a bit more of each other and even considers her a powerful rival.
Hana - Bermuda Triangle: Top Idol, Pacifica. She is the younger sister of Yukino, she too is also able to 'talk' to her cards, however he likes her determination. They fought twice, both scoring a win.
Elizabeth - Oracle Think Tank: Goddess of Flower Divination, Sakuya. A very serene girl whom Jellal fought with. He lost to her but he had hopes of interacting with her again.
Hazama - Dark Irregulars: Demon World Marquis, Amon. A challenger who had approached Jellal, and defeated him. They met later again in the slums with the intent of settling the score but never engaged eachother.
Kaze Ryuenji - Royal Paladin: Soul Saver Dragon. A name that shall never fade from Jellal's memories. He encountered a red hair male at the card shop who used Royal Paladins, as he returned the Phantom Blaster Dragon that Jellal dropped. After their fight, Jellal promised to reveal everything to Kaze.
