Post by: Rank Up on October 17, 2015, 04:10:45 PM
Ladies and Gentlemans, it's time to start voting! Sinse the moment, I post this message, no new mats will be added to the constest. I'm grateful for your hard work! There is much more playmats, then I was expecting, so the voting should be pretty interesting C:
So in this topic I will explain, how we will choose the victors of the contest and post all participating playmats. It's good to see, that not a single mat was stolen or anything ^^ I wont state the authors of the playmats until the end of voting, so you will vote for a mat, not for user. If any participant will say his friends, the number of their playmat, he will be DQed immediately. I wanna know the real thoughts of other on my work!

Okay, so your playmat have 2 ways to win:

Second one to vote~
(P.S. If this looks like Rosie's post, I've got no time to think for a post style and just went with hers xD)

1)10/10 for Mat #15. First of all, I'm a big fan of stars and have always wanted to be an observer. Second is the rear-guard and the vanguard circles, not so good but not so bad either, I'd say it's balanced on the originality. This probably will be an idiotic reason but the way the areas look are good, I just hoped they didn't look alike. Oh, and another reason is that this reminds me of that anime.
Spoiler
*cough* Charlotte *cough*

2)9/10 for Mat #18. Tokyo Ghoul is one of my favorite manga to read, and I love the simplicity of the playmat, I'm just gonna guess Slayer did this (Or if it isn't you, sorry for the assumption lol), well it has everything a normal playmat would have, rear-guard and vanguard circles, guardian circle, damage zone, deck, and drop zone. So my conclusion is that I am a huge fan of Kaneki (fangirl mode on).

3)This will probably be my last vote since I'm not too fond of the other ones (I'm sorry if I broke the other's hearts q.q). But 8/10 for Mat #17. As much as I like Kantai Collection, this seemed like it almost got a 10/10 if it weren't for the stretched damage zone. But seeing the Enemy Vessel and not those Japanese Battleships make me jump in joy, I just wished Wo-sama is in the vanguard circle (Come on I had to T^T), but the rear-guard circles and the background make it seem like you're the one controlling the fleet.

K so I did post once, but I realize I didn't read all the rules in the fact a post will count only if you vote for at least seven mats. that'll be a bit hard, but I'll give it a shot. So I removed that one and am redo-ing it. so sorry to Mana if I messed you up!!! Don't kill me v.v

1.) 10/10 for, well, Mat #10 lol. Overall, this is just my favorite mat of the bunch. If I had to name a few things I like best, one thing would be the background and the way the color swirls in circles with the gray towards the center of the mat, kinda like a vortex. Another thing would be clearly the logos. Those just look epic. Go Star Gate!!! And lastly, the differences between the Damage Zones vs the Deck/Drop Zones. The Deck/Drop Zones look all evil looking with the Link Joker Rings, and the Damage Zone is a much nicer tone to it with the stars. Kinda like Good vs Evil in my opinion.

2.) 8/10 for Mat #11. Pokemon X and Y are some of my favs of the Pokemon Series, and the Blue vs Red sort of look is pretty cool. But the X legendary is below the RG circles whereas the Y legendary is above. Personally with my minor OCD, I would prefer it if the two legendaries were both on top or both below the circles. The Damage/Deck/Drop Zones look pretty nice though. You just can't see the X in the Damage as well as the Y's in the Deck/Drop.

3.) 7/10 for Mat #3. I don't know the characters used, but the colors of the mat itself are pleasing to look at. A nice blue is one of my favs, and how the characters are over some of the circles and not others gives it this 3D appearance that looks cool. But the blue lines at the top, middle, and bottom of the mat look a bit out of place in my opinion, and there could have been something done with the Damage/Drop/Deck zones to make it flow even nicer.

4.) 6/10 for Mat #16. The background is nice and the characters are nice and clear. I seem to have a preference for mats with a "light vs dark", "good vs evil", "red vs blue" sort of feel to it. I think there could be more to it though.

5.) 5/10 for Mat #24. Overall, it's alright? I like the idea, but I'm major OCD so the lines in the background not matching up is really bothering me. I guess like the others that are less than 7/10, just something else could have been done in my opinion.

6.) 5/10 for Mat #31. The background, Damage/Deck/Drop zones, and Guard circle looks good. But I don't care for the VG and RG characters.

7.) 4/10 for Mat #20. I love Pokemon, which is why I guess I like this idea. It just doesn't stand up to the earlier Pokemon one I picked out. My OCD says that the background should match up a bit better from top to bottom, and I think the colors used for the RG circles could be reversed so they could be seen better (blue over pink and pink over blue instead of pink on pink and blue on blue). The Guard Circle is kinda hard to see.

Personally, there's a lot of problems with a lot of these. Clashing themes and colors, overcrowding and so on. Though some of them can be fixed up rather easily, like #16 I would recommend changing the circles colors around a bit to something more complimentary to each Saber. #10, hmm, it too crowded for me, I get the theme, Star Gate, that being said, I think that you could have made 3 different mats for each clan and made it simpler and thus more appealing, like if you would have left the icons Gray, but put them as the RG circles and left the VG circle to be that clans colors (red for LJ, blue for DP, etc) or let the person choose what color they wanted. I would also remove all those stars from the dmg zone, specially given the colors, I would think more 'silver' or 'metallic' looking stars would have been appropriate.

Anyways, for me, I'm going to vote for #31, mostly because it's simple. Everything is clear and is identifiable as to where what is, the pictures look crisp with little to no pixelation, the background is smooth and soothing and everything goes together color wise. The only thing I could maybe suggest is a different 'fading' of colors from white to pink to purple, to give everything a more defined look and of course the 'cuts' of the sides of the Guard circle need to be fixed.

Part 2 of my votes~
(Reason there's a part 2 is cause  I was having a hard time voting, most of the playmats really are not that good)

4)9/10 for Mat #16. Why? Its Type-moon what'd u expect, and of course, its everyone's favorite Saber aka Arthur Pendragon taking the scene, I'd say they did a good job in this, the way the vanguard circle and the rear-guards look is so simplistic (I'm all about simplicity, got a problem?), that's all I want to say.

5)9/10 for Mat #24. I would've made this a 10/10 but this is too simple for me, though I like the setting. Seeing as I'm a catholic, this really made me go make my jaw drop, that's all.

6)8/10 for Mat #26. As much as I love Aqua Force, the blending of the 2 images don't work out too well, or maybe it's because I dislike Tetra-drive? (must be it lol), though simple as it may be, I still love Aqua Force overall, every dragon, every general, every cadet in there, I love them all.

7)This is the final vote for me. 9/10 for Mat #30. I'm surprised no one made Genesis in one of the playmats, though, this one just struck me, and by struck, I mean it made my eyes go blind for a second cause of the colors (what'd you expect Mana? It's Abyss, it ain't gonna explain itself), well seeing as this is SP, I just had to vote for it, wished it had Dragruler though T^T.

Lets see mats this time around. This is not going to be easy to judge expect a lot of close scores. But I want to see unique stuff different from the norm. That is how I will focus my voting will work this time.

Spoiler
Mat #1
I'm not a huge fan of my little pony however this mat is fairly decent. I just wish the damage zone had a bit of better background to it and the picture wasn't forced into it and it is a little uneven. 7/10

Mat #2
The mix works doesn't really work. Glad you can see the circles really well. However I wish the circles and damage zone was a bit unique. 5/10

Mat #3
This is a very good playmat. I like the uniqueness of this one and has way more character. The only thing is the damage zone and circles are not that unique but the colors on them are great. 9/10

Mat #4
Another very good playmat and has character. And the zones feel unique however the circles are not. 9.5/10

Mat #5
This feels like it would be a real official playmat. The words kinda ruin it for me though and circles and zones are standard like a real mat would be. 5/10

Mat #6
Reminds me of a checkerboard in design. The color of the circles are unique in design with multi coloring but they are still the same circles and damage zone is completely untouched. I wish I could tell what the picture is but the coloring makes it difficult. 8/10

Mat #7
Simple but unique in every way. Very good. I would even use it. Perfect Mat. Also My favorite damage zone is used here in the contest. 10/10

Mat #8
I know Expy said we did not have to give a opinion on all the entries but as person who is serious about judging these things I will state my opinion and I will not lie. This is the worst mat in the contest. The squares did not 100% match up to area's cards and while the squares felt unique. It's the only good thing about it. The g zone was included which to me would make it more like a real life mat then a CFA one which "IN MY OPINION" goes against what Expy asked for in the beginning of the contest. For these reasons I refuse to give this a vote.

Mat #9
I like the uniqueness of this mat it is pretty decent. This would make for a ok real life mat and I would use it on area. Unique in every way. Unfortuntely and I hate to say this next bit but due to the addition of the g zone. I feel you did not do what was asked of you for the contest. I'm sorry I want to give you a good high vote for your uniqueness and creativity on this mat but because the addition of the G zone... I cannot vote for this mat.

Mat #10
This mat was also really good good and it feels like I'm fighting at the void of LJ. I just wish VG circles were unique as well.
9.5/10

Mat #11
Another good Mat and the multi color circles are cool but are not unique at least the damage zone had flare. 9/10

Mat #12
Another really good mat it gives that nice vibe of mystery. but suffers from the same issues.  9.5/10

Mat #13
Beautiful Mat, Beautiful design. I have no words other then Perfect! 10/10

Mat #14
The circles and zones are completely unchanged and it really ruins that mat the design choices are weird. 5/10

Mat #15
Another great mat for real life. It gives me the nice space feel and makes me feel like I'm going through the generation zone and is unique. But again like Mat #9 I feel you did not do what was asked of you for the contest. So I'm sorry no vote.

Mat #16
I want to give this a perfect just because this person took the time to have items mesh over to other side playmat making it feel like one true playmat. But I can't ignore the circles and zones being unchanged. 9/10

Mat #17
It's unique in design I like that. The images are just too blurry for me except for the circles and the white area in the zones really hurts it. 6/10

Mat #18
I love the background and zones but Same design circles are unoriginal. 9/10

Mat #19
Ok mat but same problem as other mats. Same circles and zones though i do like that it blends in and I wish a little more could have been done with it. 8.5/10

Mat #20
I really love the damage zone on this one.  but has the same problem as other mats circles. >.< 9.5/10

Mat #21
This is so beautiful, the theme and the color fit this mat so well and so perfect for this mat it was awe inspiring. I think this mat was so amazing. I'm seriously going to let the guardian circle being unchanged slide. Best entry in the contest. 10/10

Mat #22
The images are too close to each other. Ruins it harshly. And circles unchanged completely. 4/10

Mat #23
The VG circle and the damage zone being unchanged do hurt this mat but I really like the design of the other circles and the characters on this one. 9.5/10

Mat #24
Ok picture but not unique circles or zones 9/10

Mat #25
To put it simply I feel that this mat is inappropriate.  For this reason alone No vote.

Mat #26
I do like this mat. But I would have love to see some unique circles and the zones on the reverse side but unedited on the other ruin consistency. 8/10

Mat #27
Though it's missing the guardian circle. The lettering make up for it. I like this mat and it's elements make the other elements feel unique. 10/10

Mat #28
I love this mat a lot but the rear circles don't line up perfectly which is minor gipe i can't completely ignore. 9.5/10

Mat #29
Another potential real life mat. But I would have love to see some unique circles and zones don't feel unique or different enough. Still area like mat. 9/10

Mat #30
I think the picture is too overpowering for the mat. I don't like the inconsistencies and uniqueness ether. 3/10

Mat #31
Unique Circles and zones and beautiful background that blends into the other mat and a good guardian circle. Perfect Mat! 10/10

Regardless of score I would love to thank everyone between both fourms who took the time to enter for the contest. And thank everyone between both fourms who took the time to vote. And to thank Expy for overseeing the contest through to the very end.

Let's see here hmmm...

Ah, yes! Of course, these all look splendid! But if I had to choose a few...

8/10 for Mat #3: Simplistic and thematic, and the color choices, primarily the icy blues look nice together. Reminds me of a traditional mat you might get at a hobby store or a local card shop.

7.5/10 for Mat #8: I love Yu-Gi-Oh! Enough said. The theme was executed well and the colors are good. Nothing too flashy. Of course it didn't particularly go above and beyond, so I couldn't award it more points. However the trigger check bit on there was nice too.

10/10 for Mat #10: This was really really appealing to me for several reasons. First and foremost, the locked rings on the drop and deck zones was absolutely captivating to me. I was very intrigued by the choice of stars, and to be honest I thought it was really random and out-of-place at first until I realized this was not a Link Joker mat, but a Star Gate mat. That was a very nice touch and it made me happy because 2 of my favorite 3 clans are hosted in Star Gate so this was really nice, yes.

8.5/10 for Mat #13: Gran-blue-boys. Loving the theme, and I love the color choices. Granblue has been thematically my favorite clan, not playstyle-wise, but still. I honestly think the bones might have been a bit too much, but otherwise it really is a nice mat to just have. To look at it by itself, most might say "meh", but I could totally envision having and using this one. Nice work.

9.5/10 for Mat #18: Yes yes yes yes. Tokyo Ghoul theme is always appreciated because Tokyo Ghoul is just so nostalgic from the manga and despite the series ending so recently it already brings back memories. Now the mat itself is just done well. Pixel quality is great, the colors mesh well together and it's something I personally would gush over should I have it in person. Yes. Thank you for this one.

9/10 for Mat #21: Akali, ahhhh! League of Legends themed mat is already a huge plus for me because I'm an avid League player so thank you for bringing this to light and its creation will bring smiles upon all the bronze scrubs world-wide. Sincerely another bronze scrub. (Actually Silver.) But no really, this was a beautifully designed piece, the layering was actually something that took a bit to decide on, but I do really think it is good in the end.

7.5/10 for Mat#30: Holy purple. Okay yes, this mat was VERY bright and was amazing to see at first. Some things got very jumbled around but despite it I think any Revenger player. The only comments I have regarding it are: the damage zone Mordred is extremely difficult to pick out at first and sort of blends into BDA's armor. Also, the Judgebau looks very out of place with his full art backing color. It's the only primarily NOT black/purple hue there and it sort of clashes out. Just a thought.

Alrighty. Thanks for reading. Nice mats everyone!

(Had to edit because I accidentally hit the wrong number)
Well, I'm not the most amazing judge since I have my own opinions on what looks good and what doesn't, since certain things appeal to me more than they do other people, but...

1) 10/10 on Mat #10. This was pretty much the only mat that didn't make my eyes hurt looking at it. That's not to say the other mats are particularly awful, rather the mix of the colors and light and dark made it far easier for me to actually look and stare at the mat to take it in. I'm a bit biased towards spatial themes as well. I feel like the colors blend together rather well, though my only gripe would be the Vanguard circle not having a different theme. That however isn't a big downer in the grand scheme of things for why I like this mat though. Overall, I feel like this is one of the more balanced mats, even with all that is admittedly going on in it. This is definitely the one I'd use for myself from these mats. Really good job.

2) 10/10 on Mat #3. Another one of my biases since I love the color blue. The over all theme seems to flow rather well, and my only gripe with it really is the center area feels a little to bright. Again, not something that truly hurts the overall enjoyment of the mat.

3) 9/10 on Mat #5. Yet again, blue. Though I like that it's a trial deck based mat, even if it's not the WHOLE deck. Just Shion and Altmile. It's not as unique in theory as some of the other mats though, seeming more like something Bushiroad themselves would try to make, minus the text. Still, it's overall a good mat with good flow.

4) 6/10 on Mat #8. The back of a Yu-Gi-Oh card as a mat isn't the most interesting type of mat in my opinion, but the way the zones themselves are set up, I think the way those look are nice, especially since the trigger zones have the trigger markers. Not to make fun of spelling though, but I believe Bind is mispelled as Bild. Not a terrible mat, just not one I'd use myself.

5) 10/10 on Mat #11. Yet ANOTHER bias of mine since I'm a fan of Pokemon, and Yvetal is one of my favorites. I love the way the black and red with the blue and the black stands out, making it one of the easiest for me to look at, and using three of my favorite colors with two really cool Pokemon.

6) 9.5/10 on Mat #15. The only reason this doesn't get a perfect score is because to me it feels to... empty, nothing's going on. Yes I know, "Cipher you just said earlier your bias is space AND blue". I also like to see more than just an empty space. Images add a lot to things like this in my opinion. That being said, it's still very well done.

7) 3/10 on Mat #30. I hate being that guy, but this mat really hurt my eyes. It feels far to bright for it's own good, and while I particularly love Shadow Paladins (oh looky another bias, let the hate flow.), this mat doesn't represent Shadow Paladin very well in the slightest. The over all theme itself seems to be purple as well so what is Judgebau doing there? Maybe Cormac would of fit just a bit better. I also hate to break it to you but Bushiroad also already made a Phantom Blaster Abyss/Blaster Dark Abyss Legion mat. This just doesn't feel like it blends together very well, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have merits. I like how Mordred himself was implemented into the mat. Maybe next time use something different though as the Mat's primary focus, and dull down the brightness of the purple?

Well, I don't consider myself an expert in the making of mats, but...  Opinions time!

Spoiler
Seventh Place
Mat #14
Honestly, just voting for this one to fill out the required 7.  It certainly doesn't look horrible, but the rear-guard circles and zones are covered up and don't have the best choice of colours.  The image choices just seem...  A bit lazy.
Final Score: 5/10

Sixth Place
Mat #23
I really really want to like this mat more...  But I can't.  It's well done, but it just falls short compared to quite a few others that I feel were just done better which lowers its score.
Final Score: 6/10

Fifth Place
Mat #18
A well done mat but another that's mostly here to fill out the 7.
Final Score: 7/10

Fourth Place
Mat #11
I think this mat was rather cleverly made.  It would've been nice to see the silhouette of Perfect Zygarde or whatever the form is called in the background of the middle just to complete everything, but it's still very well done.  The circles look crisp and I really like the use of dual-colouring for the Vanguard circle.
Final Score: 7/10

Third Place
Mat #29
This almost looks like a mat Bushi would've officially made.  It has everything but the trigger zone, and just looks very well done.
Final Score: 8.5/10

Second Place
Mat #16
I really really like this mat, and admittedly, it's better done than the one that has first place.  Everything lines up to the other side, it looks like a single mat and not two stuck together, the background looks amazing, and the images chosen look like they're meant to be there, and aren't deformed at all.
Final Score: 10/10
Spoiler

First Place
Drumroll please...
Spoiler
Mat #26
It's my favorite moment of the anime as a mat.  That's why it gets first place over Mat #16.  Again, its well made, and makes sense.  The purple aura on the opposing side looks really good, and the way Leon is in front of the circles while their ace units are behind them just really looks awesome to me.
Final Score: 10/10

1) #3 it simple and looks nice  i would change the black line background but hey one thing over the rest i am fine with it  9/10
2)#12 overall look great but i do think it needs some more work on it changing one or two thing like making it able to read the text for damage ,deck ,drop and making the color work together 7/10
3)#15 The design look great all together but i really don't think that the G-zone should of have be add to the design it may be just me and my hate for the design of the g-zone on playmats so OVerall 8.5/10
4)#16 i just like Fate so it get my Love 9/10
5)#17 The overall design look great character design for Vg and Rears and only thing i don't like is the damage zone being that it just looks bad 7/10
6)#24 Same as number  4 i just love air gear so it get my love and vote plus the design is nice and clear with a nice 3D effect 9.5/10
7)#31 love the design simple and Bright and pink i just love pink ;D  9/10

Overall my Top 7 order would be #24,#16,#3,#31,#15,#12,#17

WARNING: The following voting is based on the user's opinion so please let him live after this post...~

Spoiler
#1: A mat based on Little Pony. Ok I never seen this coming, little pony on Vanguard. Anyways Backround it is simple yet good, VG-RG Circles having a Pony are creative but I do not like the Damage Zone and the Drop Zone. All and all something mediocre for me so I can give it 4/10.

Spoiler
#2: Ren Vs Asaka or better Shadow Paladin Vs Pale Moon. I am fan of this style mats, having shown the units over VG-RG-Damage Zone-Deck-Drop, plus the Images of Phantom Blaster Diablo and the 2 Tamers are pretty Clear which a plus for me. All and all a nice mat for me so I give it 8/10.

Spoiler
#3: I will call it a mat, since I do not know the anime from it. A pretty nice one in both Background and Characters same goes with the Light Blue circles on VG-RG zones, but Damage-Deck-Drop it is to plain. All and all I would call it nice mat but damn the DZ-DROP-DECK really gets me dissapointed so I give it 5/10.

Spoiler
#4: Wow. The colours, Background and character of the mat are suprisingly good! I love the game between White-Green-Blue which is just excellent. On a side note, the only drawback is the blurry words of Drop-Deck-DZ so all and all a great mat so I give it 9/10.

Spoiler
#5: Kiba Shion and Altomile. To be honest it looks like an official playmat which gives me mixed feelings about it. All and all a real mat standart made for this competition so I give it 7/10.

Spoiler
#6: A contrast Colour Mat. The contrast between red and blue is pretty good showing that multicolouring can have a nice touch to the mat. But yeah people donot really care or donotknow what to do about DZ-DECK-DROP... All and all a nice mat so I give it 6/10.

Spoiler
#7: That's new. A mat really unique with no theme, simple but yet awesome. Also there is a nice touch at Damage Zone! All and all a valid mat so I give it 10/10.

There will be an addition tommorow for the rest of Mats.

KT Ssumday, Sirvat, your votes are not explained properly, so they wont be counted.

Magus TSS, haha, it's fine, lol. Also it's fine to vote for as many playmats as you want as long as there is at least 7 votes.

Mat #31
Spoiler
This mat is really cute. I love the characters, the background image, and all the pink xD. But if you wanted to improve on it I would suggest maybe doing a bit more with the damage zone etc. The mat is great other then that :) :)
Score: 9/10
Mat #24
Spoiler
Well I like where you were trying to go with this mat, I love the retro feel of it, and 3D. The mat is not in alignment and, and the damage zone etc are pretty plan. I wish you took more time with it.
Score: 6/10
Mat #27
Spoiler
This is my favorite mat, and I feel that you left nothing undone with this mat. I love the uniqueness on the VG/RG circles and the background quality is great. The color combinations seem well thought out.
Score: 10/10

Aqua Force X Leon =love. The image quality of your mat is amazing, and normal/reverse sides genius. I really like this mat, and dont see any major problems with it. Im sure aqf players would love it.
Score: 10/10
Mat #12
Spoiler
When I first look at the mat it kind of reminded me of Naruto xD. The image quality is great, but im not really a fan of all the blue/black.
Score: 8/10
Mat #5
Spoiler
Shion is one of my favorite characters on Cardfight Vanguard G, and Atomile is pretty cool. The image quality of your mat is great, and there is not to much going on. I kind of feel like this mat is a copy of another, and not really unique tho.
Score: 5/10
Mat #16
Spoiler
I love the characters on this mat, but I dont really like the background Image, and I also feel you could have did something with damage zone etc.
Score: 6/10

Hopefully this is nice enough  :)

In terms of voting I will be voting via Mats that I would actually print and would use irl since thats the point of a mat design. It has to be something that I would want to have or it isnt going to be good right ;)

Mat #5
Truly an interesting mat since its very similar to ones that would be made by bushiroad. I would say that it is plain as compared to the rest in terms that it isnt unique and special. I would say that the mat overall is pretty much good overall so i would give it a 8/10.
Mat #10
Quite an outstanding mat which is one of the 1st mats that caught my attention. I would say the RG circle designs are great and the 3D effect for each of the symbols are cool. The only problem is that the although I understand that the artist was going for all Clans in the Star Gates but I would sure liked it even more if it was all just Link Joker which i just dun really like the combination which is a bit off to me. 6/10.
Mat #11
Very well done mat. Really nice colour contrast and each image seems sharp and is all in proper place. However, I think the only point which kinda made it not perfect is that Xerneas could have been on top of the RC instead of it being behind just like what was done for Yveltal. 9/10.
Mat #16
Awesome Design and I like the mat a lot I dun watch Fate but i just liked the design of the mat its clean, not crowded and its perfect. I would say that unfortunately I wished if the Damaged Zone, Deck and drop could have been done better. Which harshly caused points for this mat design 5/10.
Mat #21
By far one of the cooler Circles and zone designs. Really fits the theme of the mat and it works great overall. The Flower effects at the side really got to me. I dun have anything that I really dislike about the mat however it sort of lacks visual impact it seems like its missing something but its fine to me 8/10.
Mat #26
Aqua force playmat. I must say I like the contrast with Reverse and Tetra looks great. Probably use the Tetra one thou even thou I like Maelstrom it looks better. The zones and circles colour although simple fits well with the colour scheme. 6/10.
Mat #29
Pretty cool mat having all the season 1 characters. Bright and the colours for the background is really nice with a sort of radiant effect behind the mat. by far my favourite mat as the picture of each character fit very well together. Unfortunately some of the characters are a bit blur so yea. 9/10.

Post by: Rank Up on October 20, 2015, 04:55:44 AM
And now I'll try to estimate all those playmats, without being biased. I hope my english is good enough for you to understand, what I'm writing C:
My judgement will have 4 criteria: accordance to the task, visual appearance, originality, and my personal opinion.
Accordance to the task (up to 2 points) - this one is self-explanatory. If playmat got less then 1.5 point for this criterion, it can win in this contest only in user's voting.
Visual appearence (up to 3 points) - colours, chosen arts and combination of all elements of the mat.
Creativity (up to 3 points) - if playmat has elements that are different from standart, it will get points for this criterion. Even I can change background and RG-Circle's colours - doing more than that is much harder.
Personal opinion (up to 2 points) - even without this criterion, playmat can get 8 points, and that is many. For last 2 points I will explain, how much I liked/disliked playmat and will share my other thoughts about it.
Okay, lets go.

#1 - 6.5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright, except bind zone. You see, CFA adds this button separate from playmat, so it will still appear over your bind zone. I wont take away points for it though.
Visual appearence (1.5 points): While the style of the playmat is fine, I find it very sad, that damage zone background is so stretched. And that thing that crosses playmat in the center is looking very bad.
Creativity (2 points): This playmat is very unusual - thats for sure. Author likes ponies so he replaced all he could with them. More ponies pls! Well, I guess at certain moment Author ran out of ideas. I took away 1 point because he replaced all elements with ponies instead of replacing some of them (damage zone for example) with other things. The idea of replacing guardian circle with the text was cool, but author ruined it by multiple low-sized crowded ponies which cannot even be seen without amplification.
Personal opinion (1 point): I cant call myself a fan of ponies, but this idea is interesting. If only authors took more efforts into making some elements look better... Also, it's obvious, that he didnt tested playmat in CFA - in that case he would not make bind zone.

#2 - 3 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
It looks scary. If you look closely, you'll see that arts was roughly cut out of bushi's art and had been made transparent (look at the leg of tamer with blue stockings) so author could place other elements under them and the backgrounds of those arts were used as playmat's background. This playmat is like sandwich. I like the idea of two different parts of playmat, as people cant rotate it and play on the side, they like the most, but when backgrounds just changes in the middle of the mat it looks very ugly. Also the arts are too sticked out, so I cant see other elements of the field behind them.
Creativity (0.5 points): I gave 0.5 points for sandwich. I didnt even expected someone to try making such playmat.
Personal opinion (0 points): This playmat is bad. Not only it looks bad, but it's disgusting, that authors tries to win the contest using more with help of bushi's arts, than with his own hands. And grade 1 and 2 versus stride is not fair >_<.

#3 - 3 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright, but this blue bar is not supposed to be there. But I havent mentioned it in the task, so I wont take away points for it.
Visual appearence (1 points): I like it how good arts, background and RC's colours blends in, even if usualy VC and RCs have different colours. But it all is ruined by that blue bar is ruining everything. And drop-zone, deck and damage zone is not fitting the rest elements at all - author  at least should've tried to change their colours.
Creativity (0 points): I dont see anything unique in the elements of this playmat. Author only removed some standart elements that were crossing the mat and changed VC's color.
Personal opinion (0 points): I like the art, but not playmat. If author had removed those blue bars, replacing them with something, or did something with damage zone, drop-zone, or deck, the playmat would've gotten more points.

#4 - 6 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points): This playmat is too bright, but all elements blends in with each other so you cant say, that one of them is excessive. What's bad about this mat is Zoro will be covered with Vanguard from the beggining of every game.
Creativity (1 points): I liked damage zone, deck and graveyard. It's sad, author havent do anything with VC and RCs.
Personal opinion (1 points): The thing I liked the most in this mat is how GC are placed within the lake - it looks very nice. But I think you should've chosen another Zoro's art, because his face is covered with VG and his katanas almost invisible.

#5 - 6 points. Author: T-SP Access.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points): VC is too large, so we are vene able to see it. I haven't wrote anything about VC's size, but it should not be that big.
Visual appearence (3 points): Author tried to do playmat that is similar to official ones. And he succed. I would've hired him C:
Creativity (0 points): Even if this playmat looks cool, there is nothing original in it.
Personal opinion (1.5 points): Even if this playmat is not very original, I deserves those points. But it would be better if he used less inscriptions, as I looks like author just wanted to fill space with them (there is two similar inscription, and one of them will be covered by bind zone).

#6 - 4 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points): Background, RCs and VC blends in nicely, but damage zone, drop-zone and deck looks like authors just forgot about them, which ruins this playmat horribly.
Creativity (0 points): All elements are standart.
Personal opinion (1 points): Making GC from character's heads... ha-ha-ha. This is cool. I also like that some chracter's faces wont be covered by cards, but their facial expression is creepy. And despite what all elements being standart I still like this mat.

#7 - ~_~. Author: Exper.
i dont think I should judge my own playmat =P

#8 - 0.1 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0 points): Excessive zones, "guardian rectangular box", "vanguard and rearguard square". And where am I supposed to place my Vanguard? In the back row?
Visual appearence (0 points): Erm, well, if using Yu-gi-oh's sleeve as background and draw some squares in paint is what's needed to make the playmat - I'm washing my hands of. It looks terrible.
Creativity (0.1 points): It's the exceptional mat, so it cannot have 0 for this criterion, can it? Also, what is "Bild"?
Personal opinion (0 points): I think author just laughed. Well, keep doing it >_<.

#9 - 4 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0.5 points): There is all zones that are needed, but there is two more then there should be. Deck with drop-zone is lower then they should be.
Visual appearence (1.5 points): But this mat looks better then previous. The only thing I dont understand is why all circles are yellow - there is more fitting colours after all. And I'm worried about "Bild".
Creativity (1.5 points): Cicles are looking good, and a letter in them is cool too. But Author's imagination is too weak to do more.
Personal opinion (0.5 points): This mat would be much greater if it had been made according to the task.

#10 - 8 points. Author: RosaliaIzanami.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2.5 points): Thi mat is looking good. Background fits it very well. Damage zone is beautiful too, but I dont get, why deck and drop-zone are locked - it does not fits in this playmat.
Creativity (2 points): It would be even better if you've also changed VC and GC. Other than that mat looks very creative.
Personal opinion (1.5 points): This mat is nice, author took his efforts, but overdid it and locked the deck. This mat would've gotten more points if author would've changed VC and GC too.

#11 - 8 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (3 points): I have not anything bad to say about this mat. It looks awesome - not too bright and somehow blends in two opposite colours.
Creativity (1 points): Deck is similar to drop-zone and damage zone only has different background and letter there. Why is reminds me about     chromosomes?
Personal opinion (2 points): i like this playmat, it's very     harmonious.

#12 - 5 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1.5 points): This mat is too bright, but colours are nice. Kirito was placed a bit strange - maybe author tried to not let me be covered by Vanguard.
Creativity (1 points): I like the style of damage zone, drop-zone and deck. It's sad, that author havent do anything with VC and RCs.
Personal opinion (0.5 points): Looks cool, but I dont think author spent many time on this playmat.

#13 - 7 points. Author: Elsie.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points): This background ate 1 point of this playmat. It ends off suddenly in the middle of things and it ruins mat's appearence. But if you look only at half of the mat it look wonderful. All living creatures must die!
Creativity (2 points): Circles are very creative and cool, though I'd wanted author to do something with other zones, as he just changed their colour and transparency.
Personal opinion (1 points): Decent playmat - almost noone even thought about making Gran Blue mat, so I'm glad someone do remember them. Author could get more points if he changed damage and drop-zones though.

#14 - 2 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points): All is alright... I guess... I wonder, where should I place my deck and where is drop-zone? C:
Visual appearence (0.5 points): Same as playmat #2. Well it has the same author.
Creativity (0 points): I got tired of sandwiches already.
Personal opinion (0 points): Same as playmat #2, without last sentence.

#15 - 2 points. Author: Striker X Fenix.
Accordance to the task (0.5 points): There is all zones that are needed, but there is two more then there should be. Deck with drop-zone is lower then they should be.
Visual appearence (0.5 points): The idea with space is not bad, but realisation is. All elements are pale, font is hard to read, and there is some strange square, where light seems to be notched out.
Creativity (1 points): Well, at least idea is fine. If only all the elements would be brighter. Also I dont get the fact, that deck, drop-zone and damage zone looks exactly the same. Rounded damage zone...
Personal opinion (0 points): No, this mat is not finished at all. If author will try to work on it, it would be much greater.

#16 - 5 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points): This playmat looks good... until you start playing on it. Try to make legion - Saber will lose half of her face :C But seriously, the colours of circles and background is not the best here.
Creativity (0 points): Nothing creative in this mat.
Personal opinion (1 points): 10 points for blushing Saber +_+ It's all I wanted to say! Oh w8, I'm a judge! I like the mat is general, it's also good, that player can choose the side on which he will play. But I wish there were more creativity.

#17 - 5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points): Resolution of background and stretched arts ruins this playmat. GC is looking nice though, but it's too pale.
Creativity (2 points): This mat has the same problems as mat #1 with ponies, but GC he is better and here is no ugly bar in the middle.
Personal opinion (0 points): I dont like this mat at all. I have a feeling that author collecter random images and placed them on 1 mat - they totally do not blend with each other.

#18 - 5 points. Author: SlayerSage.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points): Like in always author found nice background and colours are also good. But that background is too pale, compared to other elements of the mat. Maybe it's  because there is so many sources of light.
Creativity (1 points): Damage zone, drop-zone and deck is creative. but other elements are not.
Personal opinion (0 points): I dont like this mat. When I look at it for some time, my eyes starts to hurt - maybe something is wrong with colours here?

#19 - 3 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points): You wont hide Unlimited Blade Works from me by one little Sasuke. In general this mat is too dark - you could just do black background and mat would be the same. Both Sasuke and Blaster Dark is almost invisible here, and RCs and VC should be brighter.
Creativity (0 points): Nothing creative here, just different colours.
Personal opinion (0 points):I dont like this field, because *read other criteria*.

#20 - 4 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points): Background end off suddenly. One of the pokemons, if I'm not mistaken, has bad quality and because of it he does not fit into playmat.
Creativity (1 points): Cute damage zone, but other then that there is nothing interesting.
Personal opinion (0 points): I dont like this mat as there is many fails. You could add another Pokemon with better quality.

#21 -  7 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2 points): Background ends off suddenly and it's quality is far from perfect. Other then that playmat look nice and have good colours.
Creativity (1 points): VC and RCs is looking interesting and fits into playmat. Other zones are standart.
Personal opinion (2 points): It's not very creative, but is looking very good. If author tried a bit more, he would've got more points.

#22 - 1.5 points. Author: T-DK Drago.
Accordance to the task (1 points): I almost cant see RCs and VC here. If RCs is not mandatory, VC is a must. GC is hard to see too.
Visual appearence (0.5 points): Same problems as #2. Well, It has the same author too.
Creativity (0 points): I got tired of sandwiches.
Personal opinion (0 points): Same as #2, except last sentence.

#23 - 3 points. Author: ZeroLifeless.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (0.5 points): I have the feeling, that author tried to had two gilrs in this playmat. He was successful - it's hard to see them. Background ends off suddenly. Colours is bad - with such background you should've chosen different ones.
Creativity (0.5 points): I needed some time to norice, that RCs are not standart. It's sad that their creativity sank in the background.
Personal opinion (0 points): It's bad for the reasons, I explained in other criteria.

#24 - 3.5 points. Author: KT Ssumday.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points): All is alright, except RC's placement - they are not symmetry. You can see it, by trying this mat out in CFA. Drop-zone is on the left of it's standart location.
Visual appearence (1.5 points): Background ends off suddenly. Zone's colours could be better, so they blend in with background and girls.
Creativity (0 points): Nothing creative here.
Personal opinion (0.5 points): Nevertheless author did good job at cearching for arts and background. But I have a feeling this mat is not finished. Very strong feeling.

#25 - 4 points. Author: Lunaskre6.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (1 points): Despite there is no people, who dont like sleepeing tyans, it's clear that background suddenly cuts off there. Colour of GC is not fitting the rest of mat at all. And tyan is almost invisible, I barely see her.
Creativity (0 points): Nothing Creative here.
Personal opinion (1 points): If you forget about GC, this mat is pretty decent. I guess it's because other colours is very good.

#26 - 8 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (3 points): It looks awesome. It's not even because I like the arts - this mat is two-sided and upper part is Яeverse themed. Author did great work, though it's hard to see Maelstroms here, but I wont take away points for it.
Creativity (1 points): Nothing overcreative here, but idea of Яeverse side if unique in this contest.
Personal opinion (2 points): One of the best playmats in the contest. Splendid! I'd reccomend AF players and Leon fans to use it :P

#27 - 6 points. Author: UnknownKIRA.
Accordance to the task (1 points): All is alright, but I cant find GC.
Visual appearence (2 points): Background suddenly ends off. Other then that mat looks good.
Creativity (1.5 points): VC and RCs are interesting, but other elements are standart.
Personal opinion (1.5 points): Absence of GC ruined this mat, but it's very decent: both colours and elements of the mat blends in very nice. And maybe this mat is a little too bright.

#28 - 2.5 points. Author: Elwin.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points): All is alright, except VC and RC are looking the same - it should not be like that.
Visual appearence (0 points): Background is ugly as is damage zone and all images, that were used. The only nice image here is VC and RCs. Also GC is too big, you can check in CFa, why.
Creativity (1 points): Well, author changed all he could... but in reality he just placed gilrs everywhere. And the girls images have very low quality.
Personal opinion (0 points): Too many fails in this mat. Idea was interesting, but realisation is bad.

#29 - 5 points. Author: T-SP Access.
Accordance to the task (1.5 points): Same as #5.
Visual appearence (2.5 points): Everything is like #5 mat, but this time Kamui image's resolution is making mat look worse. And it's a little too bright.
Personal opinion (1 points): I liked Sion/Aglovale playmat more then this one. Maybe it's cause there were less fails, and it had softer colours.

#30 - 1 points. Author: ryujiknight.
Accordance to the task (1 points): VC is invisible, but other than that everything is alright.
Visual appearence (0 points): This is awful. Mat is so crowded with SP arts, that most elements just sank in them. Also placing images in all zones except VC, RC and GC is... Background ends off suddenly too.
Creativity (0 points): None.
Personal opinion (0 points): One of the worst mats in the contest.

#31 - 6 points. Author: Barian Police.
Accordance to the task (2 points): All is alright.
Visual appearence (2.5 points): Cute o_O But GC got cut on the sides somohow. Background is too blurred compared to other elements. Maybe it's because "circles" have stroke, but if you'll remove it, it will look worse. Other than that I dont see any fails.
Creativity (1.5 points): I wish you changed damage, drop-zone and deck too.
Personal opinion (0 points): Even if I gave many points for other critetia, I dont like this mat for 3 reasons. First, girls are cute, but I dont feel, like they should be VC and RCs. It would be better if you changed Vc and Rcs as you changed guardian circle. Second, I cant turn around this mat. It's fine to play it, while your on the bottom side, but player on the top side will see upside down background. Third, there is some fails like at the deck. Also drop-zone is on th eleft of it's standart location.

As you can see, there is 3 playmats, that got equal highest number of points, so i need to choose one of them. But hey, ryuji and Rosalia already won in user's voting, so it makes things easy. The winner is UnknownKIRA with #26 playmat. Congratulations, you may PM me to get 2 sleeves of your shoice ^^
