Cero grimaced as the fight began. Within turns, he was put at a disadvantage though he managed to keep the game almost even with his decks vast amounts of retire power. Despite this, Hana was able to keep hand advantage throughout the entire game, with it only increasing as time went on. In order to break through her defenses, he rode the new unit he had obtained, Eradicator Tempest Bolt Dragon. Its power, however, wasn't enough to take down Hana's defenses, which became massively boosted during her breakride turn. With only a few cards remaining, it seemed hopeless for Cero, yet his determination to open the gate hadn't wavered. His deck responded to his determination, granting him a desperately needed sixth heal trigger. With five open counterblast and Cero knowing Hana had a perfect guard, there was only one option: He went all in, riding Eradicator Dragonic Descendant. With a double Especial Counterblast, he brought it to Breakride level power. His first attack was guarded, but gave Cero two triggers, and when he restood, it was Perfect Guarded, though he managed to pull a third trigger. However, even with 3 triggers on the Rear-guard, it wasn't enough to break through Hana's defenses. Due to Descendant's discard, Cero was left defenseless at the hands of Hana's next wave of attacks lead by Reit.
With his defeat, the gate above began to vanish. Looking up at it, the power of Reverse faded from Cero, though it seemed to cause him no agony. It simply dispersed into the wind. Cero's eyes were now filled with sorrow, a single tear running down his cheek. He had been handed the opportunity to revive his old friend, yet failed to... The gate had been closed, and Cero's ability to manipulate it lost. His gaze shifted to Hana, his face giving away nothing yet his eyes showing all. "I hope you're happy with the choice you've made," he said as he returned inside the building.
