Event 2: Vanguard Regional Tournament
An announcement appears for the Vanguard Regionals. It is that time of year where the strongest fighters gather
and battle it out on the national stage! This year is an important year as signals from Cray foretell that
the winner will become Cray's chosen Vanguard, one with have the power to lead the nation's army.
Qualifications:
To enter a match you must fulfill at least two of the following:
Have had three "field event" cardfights.
Overall affinity is five or higher.
Have visited more than four areas.
Rules:
For this event, your goal is to win one fight to qualify for nationals. Nationals has 8 open spots.
If you lose two fights, you are eliminated for the rest of the season but are free to do field events until then.
The setting for this is a few weeks after all current field events.
Games are 2/3
Double Mulligan is allowed but only if you are missing a grade. Show your hand to your opponent upon declaration, and your must return three cards if you are missing one grade, four if you are missing two.
Anyone may post results.
When results are posted include some info about the match as well as some sort of interaction between the characters.
Ex:
"Character A meets Character B for the first time and they cardfight, Character A acknowledge Character B's strength during this match, it seems like they could become good friends. Character B loses but Character A wishes to fight someone as strong as them again."
Don't copy and paste this same thing, make up your own, you're not limited to just this either. Have fun with it!
The winner will qualify for nationals.

Qualifying Match for top 8: Hana Isabella Espoir vs. Shi'en Kuraidesu
Hana prepared her deck and breathed in deeply, she's made it this far, one step away from nationals. Her opponent was Shi'en Kuraidesu, someone who she's never heard of before. He used a Shadow Paladin deck, similar to Zellal so she knew had idea of what she was facing. In both game Shi'en was able to successfully ride Blaster Javelin and have a full powered Phantom Blaster Dragon.
Hana recalled her first match against Zellal just a month ago when it wasn't long since she's stepped into the world of Vanguard. A full powered Phantom Blaster Dragon... and the skill, Damned Charging Lance... "This is going to be quite difficult..."
On the first game, he activated the skill. Hana had to guard using four cards in her hand, reducing nearly all her resources.
She gained the lead through using Top Idol, Riviere's persona blast which she compared to her older sister's Soul Saver Dragon's "Holy Charging Roar"
Shi'en entered the game with more ferocity, yet again riding a full powered Phantom Blaster Dragon and quickly filing his field using Dark Mage Bahb Caar as well filling up his hand with Nemain.
Hana rode her avatar, Pacifica and called Tyrrhenia to boost to create pressure.
She had the idea of calling one of her perfect guards in hand to lure out Phantom Blaster Dragon's skill. It was successful as Shi'en activated Damned Charging Lance, nearly emptying his field only to take the bait and be stopped by Mermaid Idol, Ellie, perfect guard. On her next turn, she tried to finish the battle as Shi'en was at five damage but ended up short.
Shi'en in a desperate attempt to finish the match activated Phantom Blaster Dragon's skill twice. His assault was coming at in at 36000 power, critical 3. Yet again he took the bait. Hana had a second perfect guard in hand and on the next turn Pacifica finishes with a critical trigger check.
Hana Isabella Espoir, going to nationals.

Qualifying match for Top 8: Yukino Hikari Espoir vs Shiki Akama
Shiki, who had been crushed by Yukino in a fight before, was actually bringing out quite the plays these games.
In two of the three games, Bassirk's Megablast actually went off, refilling Shiki's field entirely. Handicapped with no consistent way to activate Soul Saver during any of them, Yukino found herself struggling more than usual.
The first game was a rough patch with Yukino taking five damage incredibly early. Though, this only opened a combo from Alfred's Counterblast to Blaster Blade's. The second game ended in Shiki's favor due to a massive misplay and too many Grade 3s amongst Yukino's hand. The final, no Grade 3 cooperated. Triggers left, Yukino lost.
Shiki Akama is going to nationals.
Shiki -1 Affinity
Soul Saver's time was over, Yukino removed her from the deck, screaming with frustration.

After a long day,I walked into card capital looking for sleeves, I then discovered that they were hosting a tournament, knowing that i was gonna loose I said to myself, " What do I have to loose" as I signed the bracket, someone walked up to me and asked,"I see you signed up...wanna cardfight to get this over with", i said in a nice and happy voice i said, "Sure" The first fight was scary, my opponent 3 crited me....The 2nd match was ok, i was very close to looing, though I won using pbd skill twice..For the final fight I used Phantom Blaster Dragon skill and won like i was floatin on air. In the end my opponent blamed me for sacking

Qualifying Match: Satoshi Kurosaki vs Tsubasa Hayato.
Satoshi decided to try and qualify for regionals. His first attempt had him go head to head, once again, with a Royal Paladins user. This one, Tsubasa Hayato, was friendly enough and their match ended up surprisingly close, the two of them managing to hold on much longer than either of them anticipated. Despite this, in both games, even with the support of Maiden of Trailing Rose's Persona Blast, Satoshi ended up behind, and with some excellent trigger timings on Tsubasa's deck's part, his first attempt's fate was sealed. Tsubasa won, 2-0.
Tsubasa Hayato qualified for nationals.
That said, the games were interesting and full of quite the pressure...Satoshi was impressed with the caliber of ability this Royals player demonstrated. Perhaps he and Miss Yuki would manage to face off at some point in the mirror match...
Tsubasa +1 affinity

Itou fights his old pal Haruka to qualify for the National Tournament, so no friendship is allowed in his soul
In the first game Haruka shows up with a new clan Kagero, they seem to focus on retirement of units, luckily Itou's Royal Paladins managed to get back up. The fight did not have space for talk, because Haruka seemed more intense than usual, as if he had a purpose to reach the Nationals, or him. With solid defenses Itou manages to hold off against Haruka's strongest attacks, and with his field power a win was in sight 1-0
Game two had the same fire between both fighters, but Itou still curious about Haruka's attitude change asks if something in him changed, his answer was that he had something to get in the Nationals that's why his 1st obstable would be the man he saved and never beat. With his emotions his deck answered, more specifically Dragon Monk Genjo, and his field pressure was even more intense. As the fight continued Itou is amazed at what he sees and feels respect, so with respect he uses his Soul Saver Dragon Strike which Haruka survives. His aim was one last turn with Dragonic Overlord but Itou held onto 2 Iseults. Nearly handless, Itou bets everything on his last turn and manages to get through and qualify for the nationals. Haruka thanks him for the game and wishes good luck for Itou
Itou Mikazuchi qualifies
Haruka +1 affinity and respect points

There are no words.
Hikari lost 0-2 against Jellal.
Jellal is going to Nationals, and the Chosen Sword has lost her chance.
Even so, she wanted to prove Jellal wrong. He didn't have to give into the ways of the Shadow Paladin terrorists to fulfill his mission, nor did he have to accept being cast out as a villain. For no one else has she felt this strongly in wanting to show another way she believes in.
Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark...
Jellal +1 Affinity
The Chosen Sword's destiny wasn't over yet, Nationals just weren't the way for her to be acknowledged. Leaving, disheartened, another path would open for her.

Qualifying Match: Satoshi Kurosaki vs Cero Kirguis
Satoshi tried to make the same thing work against Europe's "King of Vanguard," Cero Kirguis. Unlike the previous Royals deck he had faced, this one had a bunch of canines in it. They sufficiently boosted Cero's army to make efficient work of Satoshi's field. Despite, once again, holding on, Satoshi fell behind in game 2 early on, which unfortunately did him in, once again. Cero won, 2-0. He was out of a nationals shot.
Meanwhile, Cero was going to nationals.
He also left right away. Kind of a rude move.
Cero -1 affinity

Hazama MADE IT TO NATIONALS vs Haruki
The first match was very very close. In the end Hazama 6th damage heals against his opponent. Then he comes back and uses Stil Vampir's megablast to move a Dudley Dan to the Vanguard circle to win the game.
The second match was somewhat close, but not as close as the first one. Hazama wins again by utilizing the power of Doreen the Thruster and making her 18k by herself. Also, did I mention I had two of her in the back row?
Overall, Good Games Haruki!!!
+1 affinity to Haruki
