Hey, season 1 of Bakugan was good!

Keep in mind, that was the only season that at least tried to follow the game, afterwards it went downhill......severely......and then gameplay and such got confusing and random as to wt* was going on.

Rushed. That word basically describes a lot of this. They seem to be spending a lot, almost too much time, setting everything up. I mean, couldn't you setup AND have normal fights? I dislike the douche using OTT, but that doesn't  mean I don't want to see an actual match happen. This series is shaping up to be pretty poor. I'm already hearing of people who are on the midst of jumping ship and just focusing on the tcg side of things instead of that 'and' the anime. I shouldn't have to wait several episodes for it to 'get good'. So far, too much slice of life, too little action.

those were my reactions to bakugan's "evolution" as a game

Rushed. That word basically describes a lot of this. They seem to be spending a lot, almost too much time, setting everything up. I mean, couldn't you setup AND have normal fights? Didn't people start jumping ship in Season 2 already?

The directors seem more interested in showing Chrono eating or animating his goddamn swiss roll than actually writing a card game anime.

To be fair, they're focusing more on setting up the story, giving it a good basis, than delving directly into animated fights. If you Look at Legion mate, the last season, the story was barely set up, nothing was really focused on, all they honestly did was give excuses to make people fight, and then give us half-assed fights on top of it.
I much prefer speed fights like this, which allow us to focus on the story more, to two episode fights that are 0 story, make no sense, and end with vigorous trigger sacking.

Best part of the episode was the ending. Misaki scolding Kamui was the best. Poor Kamui. Also Misaki looks so op this season.

First thoughts into this episode:

Not counting breakdown dragon, another skilless fight x.x
And something in the episode including the end of the fight were really stupid. But the episode was worth it just for Ibuki being badass and Itachi'ng Chrono.

Same as the other episodes, this one had only one redeeming quality that made it above the rest: Ibuki Kouji.

No skills, no Chrono using Stride to gather up better hand advantage, no Ibuki explaining Breakdown Dragon's Legion skill, nothing symbolic about explaining what Legion is to Chrono (thank god), nothing. The whole episode is like all of the others so far: a big ball of nothing.

We got a glimpse at Chrono's character. He thinks he can do everything alone but doesn't want to be alone. And he somehow had his cinnamon swirl as a child. Then we get some DBZ tier of stupid by him screaming and breaking the system to stop the fight. There was a number of problems with Mystery Flare appearing outside of the building, and kids seeing it unless literally everyone on Earth forgot about the Link Joker invasion. Y'know, the invasion of gigantic black rings having Star-vaders pour out of them and attack people by draining their life force? Yeah, that one. I suppose actually learning something about how Chrono grew up is a plus, but it just really isn't enough to make G's opening episodes really "hook".

There's nothing to keep anyone interested in G other than where Gear Chronicle came from, and the lore could answer that better for us than anything. In the first season of Vanguard, the only thing we were seeing was Aichi grow up and how cool other characters were. Aichi was terrible and we could see that, even the fact that he had no Grade 3. We were rooting on him to get better. There's no feeling from Chrono like that since he was "pretty good for a beginner" when the rules were barely explained to him. He still makes novice mistakes but he has access to Stride and a Grade 3 already. I guess it was different because Vanguard was very new and Aichi didn't have a lot to work with, but I really can't get into wanting Chrono to win at anything ever right now. I don't care to learn about anyone else since Chrono is more or less defining the plot and the writers aren't making me want to care about anyone else new either. Maybe I'm too attracted to the old cast, but there's nothing appealing in the new one character-wise. We can already tell the kind of Cheerleader Tokoha is likely to be and Shion's already giving the air of "super nice rich kid".

Ibuki pretty much clarified on the reasons why I don't care to see Chrono win at anything too. Then again, Ibuki gave him a stern enough talking-to to be on par with Itachi Uchiha's level of "the reason you suck" speeches.

can i just say again ibuki was this episode's saving grace

Somehow i don't like how they speed up the matches. It's just WHAM BOOM BANG BANG then someone loses. I really, really miss the old Anime. I have no clue what's going on. But i guess they want to make the skills secret.

I like they giving us a really nice story here too with Chrono and give us nice speed up fights instead of just skip to turn x and see x lose. It slowly feels like season 1 again just without full fights. They can give us fuller fights later but I wouldn't mind it staying this fast paced all the way if they keep doing it right. Ibuki really made this episode a ton more exciting as well. As it stands right now if I had to compare this season to season 2 its already 10x better and we not even half way into it yet. If the pace continues. This will be better then seasons 4 and 3. However I dunno yet about season 1.

The episode was pretty good. The fight was nice, had enough commands to know what was going on while keeping a good animation like in the previous episodes.

The only thing I would like to know is what happened, why did Chrono's G-Unit appeared in the city and why only the kids were able to see it?. Hope we get to know why... someday. :V

This is just speculation but I don't think it was only kids who could see it but fighters in general at least that's what I think they were hinting at.

I would like to yes but if it kept the same pacing as is now it still would be good if the story stays solid for learning about all the characters and the epic animation we getting this season as well.

It's not that I hate it completely it has good points. It's just compared to the other seasons it's just not as good. Leon, Ren and Koutei was season 2 saving grace as most of their moments was so good. As well as I will never forgive the 2nd to final episode anime error it was too huge.
