Well I think locking and unlocking is better. I really dont like how link joker locks a player units and you can do anything at all with them. I think locking and unlocking will be more balanced.

Link Joker does a lot with locking Units, they help using some skills that require locked units like Dilaton, Colony maker, Turndown or Palladium, then there are Units that power up thro locks like lanthanum Tungsten, Antimony or Niobiu and then there are many G3 vg skills that benefit from the locks which go from power-up over restanding to End game. So saying you can't do anything with them is right. but if you mean as the Opponent of link Joker then ya you can't do anything until unlock.

You guys are thinking of this all wrong, it's not meant to be used yet except with Blaster Joker, because none of the standard Jokers want it.

This is a preview. The flavor text is "Unlock is also one of Link Joker's powers", showcasing a unit that does just that. It's meant to give hint to what Jokers can do beyond being sinister and maniacal, controlling their opponents by simply locking them down. They can start locking each other or even toying with the opponent's head, or make up for excessive field-wide locks (ie when someone locks the backrow behind the left and right frontrow for no reason).

It doesn't do anything relevant right now, it's not supposed to. It's cluing us in on their new possibilities. Remember that the only relevant Jokers were the evil Star-Vaders and the horrifying Deletors. Lock is a despair-inducing tactic, unlock is a hopeful counterattack mechanic. This displays their newfound balance.

Ehh sorta basic with skill but I'd only use 1-2 personally or none depending on the build in which I chose to use this.

Though nowadays 10k boosters don't mean much but hey, I can't complain. More SP units.

So . . . wait.

Either we have to only run this against Star-Vaders, or Messiahs can also Omega Lock themselves as well as just lock themselves. Because your stuff shouldn't still be locked on your guarding turn under any other circumstances.
